Hi Shanyi! Well, the flipup screen is cool, too. The problem is just that you can't really get a proper interface update on that one. You can convert it to what I have and insert the little monochrome screen on top ;)

Hi great video I'm having problem with heating unit. I've removed face surround & all the screws but you show pushing in from the sides & back/down but I cannot budge mine. Is there special technique that I'm missing? Thanks
HI, thanks for your support. For the heater controls really just push the two upper clips inwards (towards each other) and push the entire block into the dashboard. The trick is to press the clips in and immediately push the heating control block into the dashboard otherwise they will just pop out again and keep the whole thing where it is.

No I didn't. Back then to my knowledge RCZs with the JVC audio system were not compatible with aftermarket android radios.

can this version work with a sim card, maybe woth an adapter or something. It needs my phone to get the sat nav to work, and thats not the greatest . Any advice ? mayne ots coz i have an i phone and its android.
I purchased a different radio basically with the same results. I was wondering if you or anybody knows, is there a way to configure the multimedia screen to stay in dark mode as a default? I only use that screen for parking sensors and open doors... I would really love to able to have this defaulted instead of having to manually anable the dark mode each time I turn on the ignition.
How can I change the lock software? Before my android radio was installed, if the car is locked, the rear mirrors and the spoiler folded in but now everything is open when I lock the car.
I can't find a T12 Torx screwdriver. Jumps from 10 -15 is there such a thing?

looking forward to your next video. because there were some things i was curies about. and that was: if the orginal carkit speakers were you talk into still work.. if the orginal usb stick socket still works. and how many tullip entry's it has for lets say amplifiers.. because i still got my 2x 12inch 2 ohm kickers laying here somewhere..😄😄
Hi Urwin! Thanks for your support. I'll finally upload the set up video tomorrow evening. The microphone still works but there are a few things that don't but are supposed to, so I'm in contact with customer support. A third video for "troubleshooting" is in the pipeline for when it all will be solved.

MotorScotti you deserve more support! for now works great, but it is so old school... one of the things i didnt like is when i shut down the car the radio closes, sometimes i want just shut down the car not the radio.

A great video thank you for the info. I've just had a sat nav touch screen installed in my rcz professionally, but I've now lost control over the clock and orange info screen, it just says... CD inserted 😂
I've removed the live from the battery, in the hope of removing the CD warning, but this reset the clock of course and now I cant adjust the clock and CD info is still up.
Was something missed in the install process that stops the clock adjustment via the stalks? Any help really appreciated with this. Many thanks
If you buy a no brand chinese aftermarket radio similar to what I did in this video, you have no guarantee that anything will work. I struggled for months to get all the controls working and they never did. This radio drained the RCZ s battery twice with the key out even though it was connected to ignition 12v only. I ended up throwing it away and reinstalling the factory unit. I never made a video about it because I was too annoyed with it.
That being said, that was years ago, I've sold the RCZ in 2019, hence I have no idea what's come on the market for these since.
@@MotorScotti Hi thank you for your response although that doesn't sound good news 🤔 I've contacted the Sat Nav manufacturer but if you've struggled I think I'm in trouble.
Someone had said the clock could be adjusted by using the stalks but I've tried most combinations and can't get the clock to change.
Thank you for the vid it would be great to see it being reinstalled as if the mounts had to be cut out I don't think I'll get the old one back in anyway. Atb

Thanks for watching. It never worked in mine to get the top display to sync with the android radio, but then again it's been a few years and the systems evolve every couple of months. I've read that it worked for some who got a newer software version. I can't help you with that, I sold the car two years ago.

In my Peugeot 308cc (2008), I don't have the amplifier. The cables arriving in the dashboard from the speakers do not have RCA connectors (they are stripped), how do I connect them to the central unit which only has RCA connections? If I connect them via RCA, I hear no audio.

Hello. Really nice video. Tx for that. Just 2 questions: are you sure the GPS antenna you put in the gloves box should be sticked in that position, on the basis of the gloves box, and not on the top part of the box (so that the rounded part is above and not under)? And concerning the FM antennae, the RCZ has normally 2 antennae. Is it enough to just connect one antenna with the adapter provided?
I remember the radio connection not to be as good as it was with the OEM radio. It probably needed the two antennas.
I've sold the car almost 4 years ago. I can't tell you more than what you see in the video.

Just make sure you buy a good one. This one was terrible. I never made a review about it, but it was a disaster in many ways. I ended up putting the factory radio back in and got rid of the android unit.
Hi Scott, I've taken the plunge and bought the same android system as you for my rcz, but I'm having a couple of problems I'm hoping you can help me with the first being the head unit is not sitting in my dashboard flush it's pertrudding slightly near the top side by the hazard switch control panel, I've cut away all tabs as shown in your video but still want go all the way in, any tips would be good, also my parking beeps are not working, my kit came with a small round speaker does this need to be plugged in ? ( I did not see one on your installation). Hope you can help mate , please keep the videos coming (especially the rcz one's) happy new year.
Hi Stuart, thanks for your support. I had the same issue even with all the tabs trimmed down. Make sure all of the cables are out of the way, most of them fit in the in on the right side; the big cable harness and the canbus adapter have space there. Push them in there with one hand from below where the climate control is and push the radio in simultaneously. Hope that helps.
Oh for the parking beeps, check the settings menu, it might not be activated.
Great job, makes it look easy! Can you still access the EQ-settings with new stereo? Aka increase bass etc?

Hi, have you installed the Dual FAKRA adapter yet?
How did you connect to the blue wire?
Does your AM radio operate yet?
Does your GPS antenna operate correctly.
Hi Jack, yes I plugged in the dual FAKRA adapter. I didn't hook up the blue wire as it would need a power supply but it works fine without it. I never use AM radio because there are no proper radio stations on the AM band where I live. I will install a GPS antenna in August. The normal AM/FM antenna will then be obsolete, so if you are planning on getting a GPS antenna there is no point in investing in the dual FAKRA adapter.
In the video you taped the GPS antenna in the glovebox upper. Did this not work for you?
It has worked for me. Here in Tasmania, Australia AM radio is still alive and well. I'm curious to know if AM would work with the dual FAKRA antenna connected. Had been advised the power wire makes the adapter a power amplifier for the antenna.
The synching of the time thing, yes, that's interesting too. My unit has various options for setting the time manually, or by internet (I haven't a SIM card) or via GPS.
Either automated method has the time 2 hours incorrect. Manually, it works beautifully.
Thanks for the great videos Scotti, they encouraged me to make the purchase direct from China via AliExpress.
And I'm pleased with the result, as you are, it is now a 2017 car, at least in the audio ;-)
Oh yes, I'm sorry I misread it and thought DAB antenna. Of course, the GPS antenna in the glovebox works fine for me. It's a really simple and clean solution.
Yes, the dual FAKRA adapter would indeed be more powerful if the power wire was to be connected. However, since I'll be swapping it for a DAB+ antenna very soon I'm not bothered.

Hi great video. I have bought my RCZ second hand and the previous owner already had install and infotainment system which i does not link to the factory analog clock & digital one in dashboard. Any clues how can i connect them to show the correct time?

Hi MotorScotti. I bought a RCZ 2.0 HDI with pop-up screen. It's so obsolete that I want an Infotainment like this one in this video. How can I mount this in my RCZ without unplug the pop-up screen? There are cables with double connection?
It's been so long I can only refer to what you can find in my videos and the additional informations in the video descriptions. I sold the RCZ over three and a half years ago. Good luck!
just bought and try to install my RCZ but can't. My RCZ is JBL with built in amp. this set deliver power instead of power. So sound cut off all time cause amp self protect mode. any other set to recommed? thanks !
Sorry to say that, but it's been written in all the forums for years that these aftermarket android radios are not compatible with the the JBL equipped RCZs.

Hi, excellent question. As a matter of fact my friend of Piston Kirk (RUclips channel) had that exact issue on his radio in his Porsche. It might be that the accessory and permanent electricity cables are inverted. Basically just get a set of pliers and pull out "B+" and "ACC" and invert them (plug "B+" cable in where "ACC" was and vice versa). He has a video about it. Yes, this is my problem.thanks a lot! Did you have problems with economic save battery mode in the Peugeot? I have a 308CC and when is active, no pin of the connector has 12V permanent.. so my question is..how is made it with the RD4 ? use can bus for this?
It should be active though. Just invert the cables on the the android radio harness and try it then. You might want to test it with the voltmeter first as shown in Piston Kirk's video. The problem is in the harness of the android radio, so just switch the connectors as shown in the video and you should be fine. Never mind the RD4.

Hello Joao, the frame around the radio should be the same for all of these radios. I know back then when I bought this radio it was advertised for all of them, but it's been a long time and products have evolved, so you should better ask the seller than me. 😉😁

The sim slot is just for a mobile phone. It's been a long time. This version doesn't even exist anymore I think. I've long sold the radio and the car since.
For the U clips to get the radio out, you can use long nails. I always use this because i'm too lazy to buy U clips.

Hi Chrissie, the link is in the description. Iceboxauto.co.uk - Just one word of advice, make sure that it's compatible with the RCZ. I took it out for good in December because I could never get it to work completely and it drained my battery twice. These things evolve very quickly, my version was android lollipop v5.0 and I know that later versions are actually quite good so just to let you know. I wasn't able to access the car settings on mine. Today's versions seem to be better. Try pressing the forward and backward buttons simultaneously on the steeringwheel. + and - might also work.

Good question! I remember connecting my phone via Bluetooth to the android radio and it worked. I have since reinstalled the factory radio.

Hello, non malheureusement toujours pas. Si tu veux connecter l'antenne radio standard il faut acheter un adaptateur TWIN FAKRA comme expliqué dans cette vidéo. Je suis sous l'eau avec mon projet Pontiac Firebird sur lequel je travail depuis août dernier et vais commencer à publier des vidéos en Mars. Du coup je n'ai pas vraiment le temps d'expérimenter sur la RCZ...
What about menu functions you have on old radio? There was menu for middle top orange screen. Options for language, daylights etc.

There is apparently an android app to do this i spoke to supplier and was told this, today 18/01/2018 my unit arives saturday so wont be sure till all fitted.
Well android app cant do anything if you dont have proper canbus box. My supplier sent me two canbus boxes for 308 2007 model and both are not working. Apparently 2007 and 2008 models have different canbus than >2009 models. I find one guy in my country who is electronic magician, and i will see what he can do about wheel commands and ecu options.
Марко Мирковић I think it'll be because the 2009+ model has multiplexed electronics. Best bet will reordering the multiplexed adapter.
If you put a preplex on a multiplex PSA system it can and probably will fry the ECU!
Hi MotorScotti, you state you need a T12 Torx Screwdriver to remove the audio unit from the rcz. I Can't find one in existence. Please confirm as I've just ordered the same unit as in the video. Worried I won't be able to remove it?
I'm positive it was a T12. I've sold the car two years ago, but I took these panels out so many times back in days that I just remember it was a T12.

@@petestevo8126 Thanks a lot! I never managed to get to work properly as it should have. The steering wheel controls were the big issues here, combining access to the to car display in order to change time and date. Mine was utterly unreliable, crashed several times, drained my car battery twice even though it was wired to "accessory". I know later versions got much better so I hope you'll have more luck. Anyhow, it's been a few years since then and I've sold it all.

No I didn't. As far as I know from back when I owned the RCZ is that the android radios are not compatible with the JBL sound system
Can I also change the analog clock with a android radio? :) or does it not work anymore after installation?
Good question. It didn't work with my android radio, meaning that I had to temporarily install the factory unit to change between summer & winter time, as well as everytime I disconnected the battery. Newer models might be better but I wouldn't know about them.
In Multimedia main menu choose icon APSS than icon CAR INFO than select MENU. It should show you MENU on the car display on the top of console. In that menu you can adjust time on main display. Analog clock will automatically adjust time with time on main car display. It works for me.

Ciao Stefano! Regarding your first question "Is it still for sale?": Check out the website I linked in the description or google it an you'll find out. Regarding your second question: I don't know if the current model is good. The software has obviously changed over the years. Mine was very unreliable and I ended up reinstalling the factory radio. Hi i have 308 with JBL amplifier and woofer and everyone who is selling android multimedia says their device will not work. do you have any solution?
Hi Igor. I've heard the same thing over and over again. My car doesn't have the JBL amplifier which is why I have never looked any deeper into the problem. Sorry for that. The best advice I can give you is to find out with maybe a dealer what exactly the amplifier is doing differently that block the android system and then see if you can find a way around it.

Not with the one I had. Maybe newer versions are better. I got rid that radio after a while ans put the original radio back in. The quality was appalling.
This 308 is the worst car to change radio. Gosh. 🤨
@@UncIeMJ It depends whether you get a chinese no brand radio that looks good but is very low quality or get something like Kenwood or Pioneer that works but doesn't blend into the dashboard as well. I threw mine away after two years and also sold the RCZ a while ago. Went with Retrosound for KITT. I couldn't recommend that brand more. But that's not gonna help you for a 308...

Well, that's what you can see in the follow up video - it doesn't work... At least not with my 5.1 android version. I know it works with the latest version, the 8.0. So if you get it make sure you get the latest version.
its an app on my 7.1 android that gives full access (even better than standard) further tip 14.99 gets you tom tom as sat nav which i think is much better than supplied nav.

@@coreywright1265 the orange screen is separate from the radio but the thing that concerns me is that you won't be able to set the time on the analog clock....

No as far as I know you need one specifically for your model. Not to mention that the frame is different from the 5008 one
What canbus you use?
Honestly it was a nice gimmick but I never managed to get into the car settings with this unit. I ended up giving it away. Obviously it's been many years since then and I don't even have the RCZ anymore, but I would advice against using a no name brand android autoradio.
Bonjour, j'ai installé cet autoradio dans ma 308, à la première installation (branchement batterie) tout fonctionne, à la seconde utilisation( clé de contact) un message m'informe que "CanBus à cessé de fonctionner" , l'heure, le format date sont à nouveau à régler, le GPS a lui aussi perdu tous ses réglages (langues orale et écrite) après plusieurs essais pas de changement, chaque fois que je démarre ma voiture je dois refaire tous les paramétrages.
Avez-vous eu ce problème et y a t-il une solution? Avant que je me retourne vers le vendeur, merci de votre réponse.
Bonjour, j'ai également eu ce type de problème (et bien d'autres) sur ma radio, mais malheureusement je n'ai jamais vraiment pu trouver une solution satisfaisante. Les vendeurs européens ne reçoivent pas beaucoup de support de leur grossistes à Hong Kong. C'est des radios sans marque qui ne sont pas très fiable. Aprèa deux ans j'ai finalement décidé de réinstaller la radio d'origine. Demandez néanmoins au vendeur de vous envoyer la dernière mise à jour par mail.
How did this work out in the end. Were there any issues? Just about to buy one on eBay.
Well, I have mixed feelings about this radio. It never really worked as it should have. Steering wheel controls never worked apart from the volume. It crashed regularely and drained my battery twice even though it was connected to accessory power and not constant power. I ended up giving it away. I've been told that newer versions don't have any of these problems anymore, but I just don't trust no name brands anymore. Good luck!

I have also looked at the Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB but with all the necessary harness kits it’s going to cost over £450. I am not a big audiophile, but do like the functionality of Android and want to use TomTom for navigation.

It's been several years, mine's not even available anymore. Mine was Android 5.0. The one you're referring to is already v10.0. Just make sure you have warranty so you can return it if it doesn't work ;-)
I did this, but my parking sensors were connected through my radio, now i have no way of reconnecting my parking sensors & with them disabled i get an engine warning light saying " UNABLE TO CONNECT TO BODY CONTROL MODULE
It's probably best to get in touch with the company you bought it from. The one I installed wasn't available anymore 6 months later. The software and mainboard versions change quickly.
How much did it cost?
And where did you get the screen from?

I have myself a Peugeot 308 2013 years sportıum, and android 10.0 multimedia 4 gb ram 64 gb rom unit. Could you please tell me what the can bus setting in factory default is?
I have the following problems.
1)When the vehicle is in forward gear, there is a visual warning on the original vehicle screen when the front parking sensor is in front of it, but there is no audible warning, there is neither visual / nor audible warning in Multimedia.Visual and audible warnings of front and rear parking sensors are active on both multimedia and original vehicle display in reverse gear, so there is no problem.
2)There is no telephone dialing mode from the vehicle control. When a telephone call is received, the call can be accepted at the steering wheel control of the vehicle. However, the rejection cannot be done from the steering wheel control.

@@Whataflight I bought this about three years ago. I don't even have the car anymore. The radio models keep updating and changing, so best is just to go with the latest model they offer for the RCZ.

Thanks buddy, no it never really did. It was an unreliable radio that didn't work properly. I ended up putting the factory radio back in.

After use the right canbus protocol the control works fine
It was garbage. Some of the functions didn't work properly and it drained the car battery twice even though hit was wired to Accessory and not to constant 12V. I've been told that they improved over the years but I'm never gonna buy a no name brand radio in my life again :-D

depuis que j'ai installé l'écran sur peugeot 308 je ne peux plus accéder au menu pour regler l'heure sur écran de tableau de bord . pouvez vous m'indiquer la procédure à suivre pour la régler
Merci pour votre commentaire. Si vous parlez du petit écran en haut du tableau de bord ça risque d'être compliqué pour rentrer dans le menu qui règle l'heure et la date. Essayez d'appuyer "+" et "-" simultanément sur les commandes du volant. Si ça ne marche pas essayez de faire pareil en appuyant ">>" et "

Plugged it in and nothing, like it isnt getting power...
The quality of these radios is pretty poor. After almost two years having mine and going through numerous settings and canbus adapters I never managed to get it to run properly and it drained my battery twice pulling energy in the background when the car was shut down. I ended up throwing it away and reinstalling the OEM radio. The reliability of these no brand radios ist just terrible...

Antonio Tassone Ja, ist leider so. Wusste ich auch nicht bzw. Sind in den letzten Wochen ein paar Threads aufgekommen von JBL Besitzern. Meiner hat kein JBL deshalb war mir das Problem nie bewusst. Der Sache sollte man aber auf der Grund gehen. Finde das inakzepatbel.

There plenty of connectors for optional gadgets I didn't have, hence I didn't need to connect these to anything. If you watch my video on how to install a rear view camera, you'll find out what cables to connect that to.
