jen thank you for reminding me about Persephone books. I used to work around the corner from it 10 years ago and would meet my sister for lunch and this was one of our fav shop to visit.
This vlog is a welcome treat and I thank thee for creating it - a bit of relaxed, easy watching. Who doesn't love books and baking? You create many things in the kitchen that I've always been wary of and today's marvel is no exception. I'm currently reading Wolf Hall. At the 330 page mark, I can't decide how I feel about it. I hope you're having as wondrous a week as possible.
Ah, this video was a breath of fresh air, thanks Jen! I’ve finally gotten around to reading The Bass Rock by Evie Wyld and I’m absolutely loving it! A bookish moment I’ve had this week was that I was talking to a close friend that is having a really hard time and I couldn’t think of a way to express how much I emphasized with her so I just read her a quote from the Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and it was a really beautiful moment ♥️
Yes! That opening passage was very tantalising. Had a great tone. Nice to see the bookshopping. I have just finished Hag (I LOVED 'Sour Hall' in it. Really really loved it. And the tone of the whole collection tbh). Now I'm thinking of reading A Piece of the Night by Michele Roberts. But also maybe Piranesi. Hope you're doing well Jen. Thanks for the really nice vlog.
I always love watching the shots of your home. It looks so inviting, spacious, and calming. It also looks like you have a lot of gorgeous trees and plants outside your windows. Beautiful vlog, thanks Jen! 💗
30 seconds in and I loved the first few nature shots. How beautiful and calming! Looking forward to watching the rest of the vlog I always love your reading vlogs
Loved the virtual book browsing with you, Jen! Can't wait to see some early spring nature clips in your next vlogs. The only thing missing is the scent of nature through the screen! XD
I like this scenery, especially the flowers! 😋 🍫 🥖‼️ Lovely phone case! Ps: I just finished A Girl’s Guide To Tea and Tomorrow and a reread of Pride & Prejudice!
Ohh The Hopkins Manuscript is the only Persephone book I’ve read but I loved it! I picked it up, quite a few years ago now, after spotting it as a Persephone title after seeing you talk about their books on your channel back then! Definitely would like to pick up more but would recommend that one for sure
lovely video as always :) I've been reading a lot of french poetry (I live in France) as the "Spring of Poets" is about to start (an event that we have here every year) and this year the topic is: desire :)

Oh, this brought back memories of walking from St Pancras (where I usually stay when I visit London) through blissful Bloomsbury to Persephone Books. I am now desperate to go back there. I’ve made up a shopping list for when it’s finally possible. Maybe this fall? 🤞
I loved this vlog! Both Wartime Climate and Still Missing sound so interesting and I'm tempted to pick them up myself even though I've never read anything from Persephone Books!
Not to encourage you further but they do a deal where it's worth your while to buy three (it's 3 for £33, when they're normally £13 each). It gets me every time, ha. x
@@jenvcampbell Ooooooohhhh now that sounds like a plan! I'm really trying to broaden my horizons when it comes to genres this year, since I mostly read fantasy or sci-fi, so I feel like this would be the perfect opportunity to do so!
I loved this video ⭐️ I’m not sure what your opinion on mermaid books is but I received The Mermaid of Black Conch in a monthly subscription box and thought it might be something you’d like ✨
Hey Jen, i have a question. Maybe I dreamed this and it never existed, but by any chance you ever made a video where you read a short story where there is this girl who is really fan of another girl that runs marathons and is covered in bandages? I remember i found it amazing but cannot find it anywhere
I had a lot of fun filming this. I hope you enjoy it, too. x
I was feeling very anxious today but this video was really lovely and calming. ❤️
♥️
Loved it. Thank you Jen. Your videos are my weekly therapy.
Everything I've read from Persephone has been wonderful. I really really loved the Hopkins Manuscript.
This vlog was exceptionally beautiful. And the music you chose with the daffodils was perfect. So calming.
Thank you x
I adore Persephone books. So many interesting titles.

Awe wow what beautiful bird song. Great video 🐦
As soon as I heard the birdsong, I clicked the thumbs up button, that was all I needed! Of course, I watched the rest, also!
Daffodils are my favorite flower! I love that you get so many of them. 🌼 💛. Your chocolate babka looked delicious.
It's always a good day when there's a new Jen vlog in the notifications
♥️
Loved this, thank you! You added some colour to my day🌷💛
Great vlog! Spring is definitely coming thank goodness, it feels like its been a long winter ... yay for birdsong and happy daffodils
yes to crisp onions and all other kinds as well, shopping for books, and flowering trees!
Also, I just want to note that the thumbnail for this video is so good!
:) xx

I couldn’t decide on much apart from I admired it but didn’t connect with it. Let me know what you decide yourself ☺️
This is a such a great video~ Your explanation of the metaphor at 17:00 wish is so enlightening
I'd highly recommend "The Fortnight in September" (also by RC Sherriff)

Oooooo you have reminded me to peruse Persephone Books ❤️
Happy perusing x
Thank you for the Instagram video for changing faces very helpful
You’re welcome!
I'm about to start a book by Alexander Litvinenko which is always interesting!
You need a dog on that walk. The blossom IS blossoming ! Could smell the paper white flowers..
We do sometimes, when we can borrow Lola x
Hi Jen! I’m currently rereading Emma by Jane Austen. I haven’t read it since I was 14 and I’m now 25. It’s indescribably more delightful at 25 ☺️

Good memory! No video but you can read it in this magazine issuu.com/sophieplayle/docs/inkspill_magazine_issue_5?viewMode=doublePage xx
Every time someone says "exciting times" now, a voice in my head adds "by Naoise Dolan". I've not even read the book
😂
