In this clip, Apollonia talked about having countless "magical" moments with Prince and reflected on some of the things he'd do behind the scenes for other artists. Apollonia also weighed in on Prince not having a will and how hundreds of people tried to get a piece of Prince's estate after his passing.
I remember when Havoc of Mobb deep said on the first season of Drink Champs that Prince came into his studio session, started playing the keyboard, came up with a melody, told Havoc to keep it, and walked off like he vanished 😆. He said he was star struck and confused at the same time lol. He ended up using it on a track off the Hell on Earth album.

Eric Clapton was asked who he thought was the best guitarist in an interview he did back in the eighties. He replied Prince, at the time I was surprised as were a lot of other people. Until I saw Prince play the solo to 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the Rock n Roll hall of fame with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood and a few others. I encourage anyone to go check out that video. Absolute LEGEND!!!!!
Up until that performance people thought of Prince as a shake your booty dude. He didn't rip the guitar on every song like shredders do but when he played live that's when he'd cut loose.

Prince was full of contradictions: A strict vegan for health reasons and also a drug abuser? A man who waged a war with Warner Bros. in the 90's to get out of his contract- only to sign a new contract with Warner Bros. in 2014? A man who bemoaned that too many young artists weren't real musicians- the same man that tried to make Vanity, Apollonia, Carmen Electra (all sexy women but couldn't hold a note) into singers?

Saw Purple Rain 7 times and it was the soundtrack of my Senior year in High school. I cried for 3 weeks when he passed away. My kids would ask “ Where is Mom?.. Oh she’s in her car crying and,listening to Purple Rain”. I’m now 58- will always love him. Musical Genius who was gone too soon! Love hearing genuine stories from Appolonia. She’s still as beautiful and cool as she was in the movie!!

This was one of the best Vlad interviews in a long time. I really made a lot of assumptions about this woman and was surprised to learn the truths straight from her.
If you listen to her talking in another interview, she talks about how she was instrumental in some of Prince's biggest hit songs and how she wrote them. By the end of the interview, I was thinking she was going to say she wrote Purple Rain.

@@lemmonharris6117 I don't think prince wore lipstick, but he would walk out of the club with your girl, the reason for that was because he wanted to record their vocals, it was foreplay to him and as he got to know them during those hours, some went home and some stayed the night, prince made that decision. He didn't dig a girl throwing themselves at him, that scared him. He really liked the chase. And respected the girls that took it slow. I think that's why he respected Sheila E. so much, she made him wait over a year because she had a boyfriend.

Prince was very spiritual and religious, he sang about God a lot, and early on. On the B-side of purple rain is a song called "God " and he was familiar with the bible, so in the -King James version- it says "prior to crucifixion Jesus was clothed in purple". That's where he got the color purple, and he clothed himself with a purple trench coat. Remember prince asked if the word purple could be in the title of his movie. It just stuck and he would say things like "Everybody wants a piece of the purple pie" he was so right about that. Another fun fact, prince bankrolled the movie Spike Lee made called "Malcolm X." He was a roller and one of my favorite things said about him is "He got shit done ". Prince really should be in the Guinness world records book. He did so many things. Vlad you're not much of a fan I see, you haven't heard any of the prince albums put out in the last 5 years. Do you still Think that "take me with you" is Apolloniais song? She stated simply that she left because Prince only wanted to give her $5000 for PR while Berry Gordy offered her $300,000 to do The Last Dragon.

Taimak gave an interview with Vlad and said Berry asked him who he would like to have as his leading lady and he said Vanity because he had a crush on her. Apollonia was never on the list. They put out Welcome 2 America, a box set of Purple Rain with 15 additional songs, a box set of 1999 with 30 extra songs, a book set of Sign of the TIme with 65 unreleased songs, the originals, and the Piano and microphone album. As far as posthumous releases go, they actually have done a decent job.. But he left them with a lot of music. and Neither of these people knew any of these releases, other than Originals (which has Glamorous life in it, so of course she paid attention to that one.-

I think it was Tyka who said his favorite color was orange, not purple. The color purple is associated with a number of different things and royalty is one of them. I read back in the '80s that was one of the reasons why he liked Purple but I also remember reading something about the color Purple being the highest level of spirituality in a certain religion/belief system. I think it was something like the Rosicrucianism Order.....or not, I can't recall. I do remember looking up the symbol for the Rosicrucianisn's and I do see a version of the Prince symbol.
