@@playerlgamer0592 No it didn't. Mario Kart 8 doesn't even _have_ a remaster of the credits theme. And the original version of Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road will always be better. The MK8 version is just too "jazz", and doesn't feel like "Rainbow Road". The feeling of Rainbow Road should be some kind of "orchestral rock with some kind of pixie dust or something...." not "brass instruments". The MK8DX versions of SNES Rainbow Road, 3DS Rainbow Road, Wii Rainbow Road, and even the main Rainbow Road have more of a Rainbow Road feel to it.
The way you put together those clips of various tracks in the same style the credits to Mario Kart 64 did, I swear I had a shot of modern nostalgia there. I loved that.
Vin(can I call you Vin?), don't worry about the "crappy" montage. A, the montage is fine and very well put together. B, even if the montage was "crappy", it wouldn't come close to distracting from the actual work. And may I just say I haven't heard anything like this remake. I can think of 3 words that can best describe this piece: Epic, beautiful, and, most of all, impressive. Far beyond impressive. I've heard many remixes and remakes of yours and they're all great. But none come close to this masterpiece of a song. Well done, sir, well done.
Wow, so much class! I love the transition to the credits song. I've done a more orchestral version of this which has done fairly well, but it's a bit old hat. So I appreciate other versions! You really enhance the original :)
never did notice how similar those 2 songs are to each other till this video and they meld nicely....but that ending with the Luigi Death Stare is freaking gooold 😆😈
4:30-That little bit at the end, with Mario congratulating you over the top...It's amazing how the smallest things can fill you with so much pride and satisfaction as a kid....
You can tell the original versions i feel like are composed around the same time for they share so much Legendary energy between then it makes Karting worth it no matter how many blue shells or anything else hitting you from 1st to last to me this music is MORE than Worth coming back and trying again!
If there is a Mario Kart 64 Remake. I totally believe this version should be in it. Thanks for this track buddy. Been listening to it for over 6 years now. I was a Senior in High School when I found out about this video! Now I'm a supervisor @ World Resort and a Front Line Cook in a restaurant. Time really changes but my music taste didn't 🤧
Este cover me gusta mucho aún que ya hayan pasado ya más de 8 años uno de los mejores covers de la Senda Arcoíris junto con su música de los Créditos del MK64 para el Mario Kart 8, a quien más?
You have successfully managed to fill my heart with so much nostalgia that I want to cry. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron would never have a soundtrack as memorable as this!😭
Getting through the Special Cup and its bs knowing that you'll be rewarded with Rainbow Road and the ending credits theme filled me with so much anticipation. The dopamine still hits strong when the engine winds up and harmonizes with the music. Then getting the credits music just keeps the dopamine coming. Loved this game. Then, F-Zero GX came out courtesy of Sega. When Nintendo saw the result, they must've thought, "Crap. There's no way we can top this. Guess we have to kill the IP now."
imagine if after you pass the last lap of mk8 remake of mk64 rr it zooms out and the music continues as you review the results. The second half of this remix will be in the background of the credits then it goes silent gives you the trophy then you watch the replay as all the rainbow road music plays (like from smk to mk8) in a mk8 style remixed form
these are the kind of remakes I love. the originals had a great... something -- I'm not sure what word I should use (rhythm, tempo, feel?) but they just needed a clearer, crisper and more modernized sound while still maintaining the same feels, and that is exactly what you've done here.
Randomly came across this again years later and i still think for mk8 this should’ve been the actual song and the track should’ve been 2 laps. Also it would’ve been pretty cool if they remixed the mk64 credits theme for this game since 8x8=64 or some shit idk
When I see how games Mario Kart Ds onwards remade almost all the tracks throughout the years in the new games, it gives a new love to that game for me personally. Mario Kart 8/Deluxe made me appreciate and want it even more done like that!
I dunno. I kinda liked the MK8 version. Really captures that happy feeling I think Rainbow Road is all about. Not that I don't love this one too, of course.
I think it's better than the one MK8 went with. More flowing, less busy sounding, betting balancing, and you have that approaching percussion sound playing over and over that sounds like a chasing red shell. The one they went with is so busy and overpowered by brass. My own feeling is that by the time you see Rainbow Road, you've really got the hang of the game, you flow around the tracks. The music should reflect that, whereas the early stages soundtracks should sound more chaotic.
Currently using this awesome as Rainbow Road theme in Mario Kart Wii CTGP Revolution, even though it starts to annoy me because of hearing it a hundred times … Maybe I should change my custom music again …
I used this song as a personal mod (I haven’t published it yet) for my True N64 Rainbow Road. Do you mind if I use the song and upload it? I figured I would ask before I jump the gun
R.I.P. Mr. Satoru Iwata, you've passed the Rainbow Road straight into the heavens.
Correction* He is in rainbow road Forever karting on that beauty
Pyre Vulpimorph Probably driving the B Dasher up to Rainbow Road.
;)
You have the most lovely responses to this entry I have ever seen
No he is the gold at the end of rainbow road mario be like 🥹🥹😢😢
Even 8 years later, this still holds up as the best remaster of Mario kart 64’s rainbow road and credits!
Nah, Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe did a better job… this is still phenomenal though…

Perfect cover. 11/10.
Retro Gaming Guitarist. Could not agree more. This remix is unbeliavably good.
Mejor dicho 1000000 de 10
The MK64 ending should be the theme for the next Rainbow Road in the future
With the lietmorif thrown in
Just Beautiful... ;-;
I expected the "Hey!, You very good! See you next time..." at the end
I love how the two themes blend together like that!
Yup.
Mario Kart has truly come a long way if you think about it.
Yeah I was just playing super Mario kart a few minutes ago and I can confirm
Better than MK8. Much more faithful.
I like the MK8 one.
Would have preferred this version in the new game to be honest.
Yeah me too.
The way you put together those clips of various tracks in the same style the credits to Mario Kart 64 did, I swear I had a shot of modern nostalgia there. I loved that.
Rainbow Road 👍😭
Staff Roll Magnifique 👏👏😭🐱
4:05 I liked how the Sun exactly comes up with the rhythm of the song. 👍🐱
4:31 F for the poor Goomba 😔 😹
I'll have you know that this is the best Rainbow Road 64 cover I could find on YT. The credits theme is a beautiful plus. DLing immediately.

The transition between the two tracks is just perfect. It's like one single track. Love it!
It would not surprise me if that was how it was originally but it was so long for the one loop they had to split it.
I wish it was ☹️
Excuse me. I need to find my jaw...

Best rainbow road theme and credits theme in the Mario kart series
This song remember me when i was young and play all day to mario kart, those were the days, if i could turn back time 🥺
never did notice how similar those 2 songs are to each other till this video and they meld nicely....but that ending with the Luigi Death Stare is freaking gooold 😆😈
You pulled those nostalgia strings quite well my dude
Keep doing this, everytime I arrive home from work this is the very first thing I do, to listen to your music remixes.
HEY, YOU'RE VERY GOOD! SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
-plays special cup again-
ConGRAAAAAYETULAAAAYESHUNS!
"IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'M the BEST!"
Welcome to mario kart
With that accent of his I always heard "Gouda" instead.
SEE YOU AGAIN! HAHAHAHAHAH!
This is really great! I love how the songs are true to the originals, but still update them.
i remember first listening since 2019, still love it to this day

A good remake of Mario Kart 64 must include 2 new cups and 4 new characters: Daisy, Waluigi, Kamek and King K Rool
A good remake of Mario Kart 64 is no remake of Mario Kart 64. There's no real reason to remake a racing game. Including the old courses is enough.
@@matthewbertrand4139 they could remastered it for the Switch and add DLCs.
What about Rosalina? The 3 Little Princesses!
excellent cover, and the transition between songs was flawless, amazing work.

The should included this in new mario kart entry as ending theme.

I forgot how good the credits music to this game was. Thanks.
2:20 that transition though 🤌
This is stunning, a true piece of art. Absolutely magnificent!
I love your work
By far the two best tracks of that game!
Pretty amazing. That being said, if there's one theme I think deserves a good remix, it's the credits to sm64.
The music makes me nostalgic and nervous for some reason. I first saw this video in 2015.
just learned that you did the music for 3b1b! i had to come back to this arrangement to confirm it was the same composer. totally sick!!
The 7 people who disliked this video don't have a heart. This is amazing and at the same time nostalgic
I'm lost for words how awesome this is!!!
Love the crispness and especially panning details!!! Brilliant work coming from one producer to another
I love this arrangement. AMAZING JOB!
Great remake. Brings me back to childhood.

8x8=64, why wasn't the credits like N64?
Because it wouldn't make sense that way. To combine them into one song, he had to make them thematically similar.
He meant as the final song on Mario Kart 8

Beautiful.
this is awesome! I'd love to hear a remake of Toad's Turnpike from you as well!
Wonderful work
idk if i ever commented on this but this is truly amazing
beautiful
Where did you get these amazing fly-by shots of the tracks from?!
Its a fucking masterpiece.
This is gonna be great music to jog to!
This tune is the only thing that keeps me from completely hating Mario Kart 64. I swear that game hates me.
How? It's a nostalgic game, I wish I had it
