  • The mario kart series has a ton of very fun and interesting tracks, but none are as iconic as the series’ infamous rainbow roads. These are most often the most difficult tracks in every game, but at the same time some of the most loved! Today I want to go through every mario kart game: super mario kart, mario kart 64, mario kart super circuit, mario kart double dash, mario kart ds, mario kart wii, mario kart 7, and mario kart 8 deluxe to analyze each of their rainbow roads. The legacy of rainbow roads in mario kart is a big one, with 14 different tracks total. So join me in this episode of level by level as I analyze each of these and put them onto a tier list!

There's a reason at least one rainbow road in

  • @javtendogaming9109

No wonder they added a version in the Mario Movie, they’re too iconic that they have to include them in a good amount and that’s why we love them

  • @bumblebee8903

To think we almost had a 3rd Choco Island variant instead of Rainbow Road in the first game is very unnerving to me.

    It’s Called a Road

  • @MockySocky

Rainbow road drove everywhere to warm our hearts, except for in smash ultimate:(

Here are a few more level by level ideas I came up with:

1-1 from Sarasaland is the GOAT

  • @IcyDiamond

Mario Kart 7 Rainbow Road is my favorite since it fully takes advantage of the space theme by having you go from planet to planet

  • @Bob-ombProductions

It was actually 8’s remake of 3DS RR that made me love the course. I played it all the time as a kid, but never realized how amazing it was until then. It’s since become my favorite course in all of Mario Kart.

I am excited for the Bowser’s castle video, I always found them to be among my favorite tracks from each game despite being less iconic than Rainbow Road.

Finally someone who isn’t nostalgia blind and actually says that N64 Rainbow Road sucks so much

  • @bdt2002gaming

Rainbow Roads are so good largely in part because they all feel like a great representation of their respective game. With some courses, if you were to look at them, it might not be immediately obvious what game it’s from. With Rainbow Road, though, it’s very obvious what games they’re made for. 7 is the only one to use multiple sections instead of laps, Double Dash makes use of a cannon-like section in the first game to have those, Wii makes use of several trick opportunities, you get the picture.

I grew up with Wii Rainbow Road, and man, when I was younger, I used to fall off that map a lot and sometimes avoid playing the Special Cup because of how scared I was. Now looking back and playing it now in present time, I realize I played one of the most challenging and iconic Rainbow Roads in MK History! I also love the song too, it always gives me the goosebumps :’)

My god, an odyssey central video WITHOUT a fnaf junpscare?! Thank the Heavens!

Sail the seven seas for Double Dash matey. You can’t steal booty from a sunken ship.

  • @wobboshi4428

I really like the space station theme of Mario Kart 8's Rainbow Road. I don't think there is another theme like that in any other courses. It makes it stand out.

  • @____David

Great video, it was really interesting seeing you cover all of the Rainbow Roads, super excited to see a Bowser's Castle version!

  • @betafurret1503

It really does suck that Tour never got its own rainbow road. Considering how good almost every tour nitro track is, a Tour Rainbow Road could have been the best in the series.

  • @dabluepittoo-aqua4213

Rainbow Road perfectly encapsulates not just the finale of Mario Kart games but the pure and utter raw magic of the whole Mario franchise.

  • @deadheat1635

Tour also has its own Rainbow Road, it actually has two! RMX Rainbow Road 1 and RMX Rainbow Road 2, while it reuses assets from SNES Rainbow Road (as is the gimmick with the RMX courses), they still provide unique experiences. RMX Rainbow Road 1 has two massive gliding sections that intersect and RMX Rainbow Road 2 is like a cross between SNES Rainbow Road and Wii Mushroom Gorge. While they aren't fully original, they work as Tour's Rainbow Road in my opinion.
