They cost twice as much, just like the rest of their units, but only HP is close to being doubled. Their attack is nowhere close to double, it's only +1 attack compared to regular Archer that deals 6 damage, and their range is only 0.5 longer. You are paying double price and don't get double value. While suffering from being easier to counter, heavily punished for being out of position, harder to defend from multiprong attacks, and no longer wasting DPS of the enemy units through overkill. All while their economy is worse than eco of any other civ in the game, and the landmarks turned into useless.
@@olegdragora2557 you aware they have faster attack speed? so the dps is indeed nearly double. if they have double base attack it would be OP because they will shred armored units too. +1 attack is better than it looks because armor. against feudal MAA/Knights/horsemen with 3-4 ranged armor normal archers are doing 1-2 dmg. while Gilded archers doing 2-3. if you factor in the attack speed they are doing about 3-4 times the DPS vs armored targets. all the while being tougher to kill and longer range. I find Dragon ranged units harder to counter actually, their high DPS, alpha damage and long range make it hard for melee to get close without taking heavy losses. and high HP make it much harder for even mangonels to deal with. they are only easier to counter if in small number, once thay reach critical mass they are very powerful. not saying order of dragons don't have serious flaws elsewhere but the range units are what saving them.
aussie drongo gives me life. i love his voice, his attitude, his game knowledge, his attention to detail, his spastic aussie energy reminds me of tobiwan. good shit. subbed and liked
Drongo keeps this game alive. Because all the other content creators are mainly players. Drongo, although he does play, he's mainly a caster. So he brings the matches to us and fosters interest in the game, just like a good football narrator. This is really cool. Now, I thought the Order of the Dragon could be weak, but oh man, it really isn't! Haha Especially now that 1 TC play will come back to being the norm, this game showed how strong they can be
I think it would be a lot more interesting if the golden cuirass let the men at arms absorb one attack once they reach 1 hit point. Like, if an attack would kill the man at arms, it instead drops the unit to 1 hit point, then the ability goes on cooldown for like, 90 seconds or so. I feel like that's the sort of frustrating level of resilience the golden cuirass is trying to mimic.
20% less damage doesnt seem much but if you think about it, if you have healers with your MAA that 20% can allow the healer to keep the unit alive by outhealing the dps
For example, lets say an archer does 8 damage, and you have 5 armor. If its applied before armor, they go from 8 to 6 damage, so only 1 effective damage instead of 3. Huge difference. If its applied after armor it will change not much.
Drogo , 1 note. Onna-Musha is not armed with crossbows , its Yumi Bows. That is the original Samurai from the time of the Mongol invasion period. They ware mounted archers (most people asositate Samurai with the Unification period when they ware foot warriors but that is several houndrid years later). Japanese crossbows Sudo and Oyumi faded out of use in the late 10th Centauri because of the Horse Archers. Yumi Bows ware much easier to use in mounted config then crossbows because Japanese crossbows ware very bug and combursome. They ware based on imported units from China. Japan never "re-invented" them after Horse Archers faded out of use as they jumped into imported Machloks from the Portugese ,which ware then reversed engineered.
I'm pretty sure he's referring to the fact that they replace crossbows for Japanese and occupy their role, in the similar sense that the Javelin Thrower is the Malian "crossbowman". I suppose in the sense of explaining gameplay meta, it's important to draw the distinction between them and other mounted archers in the game, because they occupy different roles. A good example of something comparable that could be added later is if Korea is added with the Hwacha, but despite being similar to the Nest of Bees, it would take the slot of the Ribauldequin because it was primarily an anti-personal weapon, not used to attack fortifications like other rockets. Thus it would be considered the "Korean Ribauld" in the metagame.
drongo if you want to know how to pronounce those japanese, just give a quick search for the hiragana chart, you don't have to memorise the chart at all, but once you understand the logic you can prononuce almost all these english spelled japanese, it is actually super easy, takes only like 10-15 to understand
The Japanese have unique economic techs that replace their vanilla counterparts, so they do not appear in the UI. Hopefully it will be updated to properly show Japanese upgrades.
Drongo, I'd like to point out that Onna-Musha and Onna-Bugeisha are all women. The "Onna" actually means woman. Thus, it would be slightly more accurate to refer to them as ladies.
bruh it makes me a little sad everytime i see someone playing order of the dragon and backs away from a fight that "looks" like they will lose, but actually would win. i guess it will take time for them to adjust and learn their strength
@aussie_drongo love your casting, but would you mind googling some of the unit name pronunciations? It's been really confusing trying to figure out which unit you're talking about for some of the new civs, especially Japanese
@@suyashahirrao1080 yea but this game is kinda fast-paced though so I don't think it matters too much. However it would be so much better aesthetically when ur chilling and building your city or sth like that
They just kill the Prelates. No one uses mass Monks anymore since their healing rate in battle has been halved, and even before that only Delhi was using them because they are producing them from the start of the game from dedicated buildings.
i feel like there so many fight at the beginning where OotD retreat when he could have destroy the opponent army (maybe SAS don't really realize the strenght of his units)
Golden cuirass is potentially a lot more than 4%. It depends if the reduction in damage is applied BEFORE or AFTER the armor. If its applied after then yes its 4%. But if it's applied BEFORE it can be a lot more. Especially against low damage units like archer / spear. Can anyone confirm if its before or after ?
Huge respect for a Valdemar's Uncle who fought against this particular deer in the Great War 🧔♂⚔🦌
I for one am completely trusting in Drongo's knowledge of deer anatomy and capability, maybe he fight in the deer wars
I cant belive, the devs had to make a new civ in order to make meinwerk a good landmark.
I think meinwerk has always been decent, its just that aachen is too good. I dare say its the best feudal landmark
They even managed to do Burger a good landmark monkas
And it's still useless.
Just their Aarchen is somehow even worse.
Their Aachen is 10% instead of 40% with 1 prelate investment. Base villager bonus is higher than that
Drongo wondering if the deers are poisonous is the most aussie thing I've seen this year.
It was venomous, not poisonous.. which makes it funnier
most people overlook Order of the Dragon range units, they are like walking towers with those HP and stats
Thats one accurate way to put it XD

Onna-musha and onna-bugeisha are women (onna= woman in Japanese), so it's always funny to her you call them "these guys" XD

Drongo with classic Australian humor... I love these streams. :D
that deer had it coming!
Drongo thank you for being you and doing these streams.
1/5 less damage at 20% could easy be a few more hits, against caiting archers its a great bonus.
Die Schüsse kommen was well said by that Cross bowman.

That Last Landskenht Slap Samurai be like a Boss ( even in reality it most Crossbow work )
The Order of the Dragon do be built different.
When you consider imperial maa have like 400 health fully upgraded that unique upgrade is pretty good
If the Golden Curius allows the MaR to take one more hit before dying, could be worth it.
It makes sense that the Daimyo "manure" boosts farms, fertilizers and stuff lol
Not gonna lie drongo I love you and your vids I always watch it before bed
Why do all pro players place the storebouse on the corner with the TC one slot for the farm is therefore unused? Am i missing something here?
They want daimyo bonus from tc to hit all farms. And when all the farms are filled the landmark gives wood instead, so you aren't really missing out.
Also just to make the outer farms harder to harass/raid.
New drinking game, drink everytime drongo says the word "ludicrous" 😂
Keep up the content the title arent means the winner love it

Order villager is basically Courier de bois
Ausie dango love u brother ur content I always watch it before sleeping love to you my friend make more videos with ottomans
"fuck you in particular deer!" 😂
AFAIK KillerPigeon asked the devs about the dragon villager gathering rate and the devs said the base rate is 25% higher.
At this point I’m having more fun watching your videos than playing the game lol
there is something wrong with the military count for OOTD. the total count does not equal the sum of the units
OotD units cost 2 population each, and the balance-of-power bar tracks total military population, not the actual number of units.
thx for the batlle ! can you explain why/how your game is so beautiful ? thx

How are people playing? Isn't it not out until tomorrow?
Some content creators got early access from devs
Early access for content, feedback and bug fixes
MANOR IS PRONOUNCED LIKE MANNER
Agree Japanese do seem a counter civ to OTD. Similar to mongols countering HRE.
Valdemar is back definitively?
Finaly Order of the Dragon!
When is quality vs quantity
If it reduces BASE damage (before armor), then it would be pretty powerful.
I guess order of the dragon is most supply efficient civ. I can't think of any army comp is more efficient at 200 pop.
Their unit cost 2 pop each
damn deer!
you didn't really explain much about the Japanese units like you did for OOD but otherwise great video as usual
Já sabia que ia dar ruim só pelo nome Valdemar. 😂😂😂😂
Yea!
Order of the Dragon !
Nice...XD
need another order of the dragon cast, they look awesome
