There's a very large area in that province known as the BC Triangle, which is very similar to the Bermuda Triangle, with many strange unsolved disappearances.
I wouldn't rule out that these two are not related.. No known disappearance date for Sam. They were just reported the same day.... Jim Barnes should be located, or gear within a relatively short distance, and dogs generally can find their way back to the vehicle with their noses.. Might be a stretch but nogoodniks have traveled long distances up in Canada to kill multiple unrelated people... Both of these areas are certainly remote so probably no or at least few video cams to search.. Also, why would Jim leave his cell phone in the truck? Unless there was no service there... (No tracking someone without a mobile phone too). Sam is going to be far harder to determine not knowing a time window and such a large area.. I hope for the best and both are found alive and well.. Something just sorta stinks with the proximity and the other factors...
Ok Bryan, the guy missing in Chetwyn is near us and a couple other people went missing this year in coastal b.c as well. This is just creepy. Slso creepy that i erote on h2h that we need hunters to look for lost people. Its overwhelming.. when it happens to someone close to you. But the two areas are reatively close.. weird. I hope we find out what happend.
That's true, but in any apex Predator attack such as a bear or mountain lion, there's always lots of evidence of it.. I think in the case of Jim Barnes, foul play is a big possibility.. but🤷♂️
Thanks for your videos, there are some interesting channels around but ill tell ya what, not all of them i want to hear their voices all the time! You have an easy to listen to voice so god gave you a good gift for these videos! 🎉
Maybe hikers should have to wear blaze orange vests or something like a workers safety vest with fluorescent bands. Also I have seen mentioned a GPS beacon.
Safety devices like a GPS and SAT com devices are definitely great and I always highly recommend them! It's important though that you learn how to use it.. but it should be a backup or safety device.. it's very important to know how to use a compass and read a map.. Bright colors definitely help when a person is lost.. but it's still extremely difficult, especially during the summer to see a person in a dense forest.. winter is definitely different in areas and bright colors would help a lot! I usually recommend people carry an emergency space blanket too. They are so cheap and can be used in so many ways.. including signaling for help! Thank you for watching and your feedback🙏have a great week!
Because the second guy left his keys in his truck I wonder if he stopped and jumped out just for a moment to relieve himself in the woods, or, perhaps he saw a person who appeared to be hurt, and was thus baited into stopping and leaving his vehicle.

I’ll pass it along ! Hope these men are found.. the areas are actually quite different in location -we used to snowmobile to Red Fern lake & cabin & Chetwynd is a small community along the highway south of Dawson Creek. Cheers.
With all respect and the efforts you make to try and help the missing persons and I always listen, I try learning from this as well. I don’t live in America or Canada. I wonder if you can call a young man like Sam an experienced hiker. I wouldn’t recommend him to go alone. Again I appreciate the efforts you make for the people. With kind regards
I didn't call him that, that is what his family, friends and people that knew him the best said in their interviews. I was passing along the information to you all. I personally have never met him, but often in cases where people grow up in high wilderness areas or close to them; they start hiking and camping, hunting etc at a very young age. Despite the fact that he's only 20, 15 of those years have been spent exploring and learning about the outdoors. Yes, of course I can see your point and why many people would think he may be too young for such an adventure but remember age is often no factor.... remember the 89 year old man who was missing in Idaho for almost 12 days this summer, and he was found ok! If you look at that video and in the comments, so many people were saying he had no chance..it often has nothing to do with age or experience but the circumstances the person encounters.. You said you didn't live in North America... where do you live? Are you an avid hiker/outdoors person? I'll be happy to assist with any questions you may have! 🙏 thank you for watching and your feedback!
I hope that's not the case! I think in Jim Barnes case, foul play is a strong possibility.. but in Sam's case, I'm thinking more of an injury or possibly getting caught in a snow storm that went through.. either way I hope both men are found safe🙏🙏
There are a lot of bears and mountain lions in B.C. In virtually every case Bryan covers the families claim the missing people are very experienced, which I doubt-but even experts suffer mishaps in the wilderness. As many note, the main factor seems to be that they traveled alone.
They recently found a boot track potentially matching Jim's down along the river. Im in these areas by myself a lot and it seems strange how these guys have disappeared so quickly, especially Jim. It almost seems like he shot a chicken(grouse) from the road, went in to retrieve it and never came out of the woods.
Are these disappearances anywhere near The Headless Valley? ( that’s the first video of yours I watched) Strange they both disappear around the same day . The guy and the dog is really strange usually a dog will defend its owner if the owner is getting harmed especially a big dog since they’re alot bigger and stronger than the small dogs not as easy for a person to fight off. Everything left in his car?? But the gun not missing? Either he went with strangers ( people should know by now not to do that) or he wanted to disappear. If somebody attacked the guy you would think there would be blood around from the dog attacking the person or them hurting the dog. Can you enter me in the giveaway please. Thank You
No that's in the North West territories. Yes definitely strange that they both disappeared on the same day and not to far from each other. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! You're entered into the giveaway!
1 month ago and about 30 minutes NW from where Jim went missing some hunters were shot at with a rifle by someone known to the local RCMP. The RCMP didn’t take the hunters very seriously and I’m not sure if the shooter was charged. Hopefully this shooter is not connected to Jim’s disappearance but should be considered.
That's crazy:(( why didn't the RCMP take them seriously? That's crazy if that person is still walking free🤯 you say multiple people were shot? 😳 I hope and pray if they survived, they will be ok🙏🙏praying for their families to get justice! Thank you for watching and sharing this.
That territory looks like there’s a bear behind every tree. It’s great to be familiar with the wildlife, but I’m not pushing my luck. And then there are the two-legged varmints.
BOTH YOUNG MEN WENT MISSING ON THE VERY SAME DAY IN THE SAME CANADIAN PROVINCE? SOUNDS MIGHTY SUSPICIOUS TO ME. THERE MIGHT BE A SERIAL KILLER ON THE LOOSE OR A SERIAL KILLER GRIZZLY BEAR?
You never know:( in these 2 cases though, I personally think that Jim Barnes may have met with foul play.. but I think with Sam Benastick, I think he may have gotten lost or possibly injured.. but 🤷♂️ I just hope and pray both men are found safe! Thank you for watching and your feedback!
Yes prayers that both men will be found. A little sidenote to my comment about serial killers. Serial killers generally target women but nowadays anything goes. Even young strong healthy men can be targeted. It's tragic but true. People need to be more aware and alert nowadays.
I think that this is very strange and I think there is a growing concern by all the men going missing in this province. It’s happening a lot. There was a period where it kinda stopped but it’s occurring again. I think there is something very strange going on in the back country with men going missing. There is a lot of attention put on women going missing. But in the last 10 to 15 years. There have been many men going missing and it seems very random. I think the police need to make more attention towards this. There is something very wrong happening out there.
I always encourage this too.. but some people can't afford them or think they will have to pay a year long expensive subscription. Which isn't true. I've helped many people find good slightly used devices. I bought mine slightly used and it's great, been going strong since 2019. but of course it's just as important to activate them and learn how to use them.. which sounds obvious but I've covered many cases where the missing person had one but had never activated it:( I know there's a relatively new non-profit in southern California that apparently is offering free devices, help with setup etc. Which if true is amazing! Thank you for watching and your feedback!
Unfortunately it happens.. but not only on Beautiful land or parks.. Sadly disappearances Happen all over.. thank you for watching and your feedback! 🙏
With keys and phone in vehicle I bet that one is foul play! Hope if and praying the other isn’t bear attack while hunting. Praying both are found safe.
I think for Jim Barnes, foul play is definitely a possibility:( but hopefully both men will be found quickly 🙏 thank you for watching and your prayers for these men🙏
I'm not being cynical here and not being mean or anything but I don't really think a 20-year-old is qualified in supreme outdoorsman adventures that he's going on by himself That's just my opinion I could say whatever I like it's just my opinion I'm just saying I don't think he was overqualified I don't even think he had enough experience to be doing that kind of hike I think he should have had somebody with him I think everybody should have somebody with him a firearm a sac phone a compass all these things that you need an emergency device if something were to happen so to me just somebody saying he was qualified at 20 years old I can't agree with that now if you said the guy was 55 years old or 35 years old who did many many many hiking trips in his life then I would say he was qualified but at 20 this kid cannot be highly qualified

You are out there (often literally) trying to help find these people, and that's why I watch all your videos. Thanks again, and please enter me in your Godiva calendar giveaway.
Thank you! I really appreciate your support and feedback! And yes that's been my mission statement and goal from the beginning! Oh, and of course I'll enter you into the drawing!
Bryan, I so appreciate you. I look forward to your shows. You have the kindest way about you. 😊
Thank you for watching and your kind feedback! I really appreciate the support!
It is amazing to me how many disappearances are happening in that area of B.C. not only these but others you have had on your episodes...
It isn't amazing. It is beautiful but also very rugged country full of predators including some of the most aggressive mountain lions in North America. Lots of bad things can happen.
@CastleMc how you know there aggressive
We love you Bryan. Please remember to look after yourself and protect your energy. We don’t want you to suffer to bring these stories to us, no matter how important they may be.

Hi Bryan, thank you for doing the stories for the two missing BC men. I am on the opposite end of the country and haven’t heard about them. Praying for their safe return home. Ax always, thank you for your kindness and respect towards them and their families.

Hi Bryan, love your channel!❤Thanks for bringing cases like those to us. I’m an avid hiker but stopped hiking by myself a while ago. As a traveler, I’m aware that a female is always more vulnerable out there, but got surprised to see a lot of males with outdoors experience disappearing.😢

I've noticed that with the RUclips algorithm. I get so many channels I don't subscribe to in my feed that may have the type of content I like to watch, but I don't see very many of the over 100 channels that I subscribe to! It's so frustrating!
I'm glad I have been a subscriber here for a few years and you popped up in my feed tonight, but honestly, it's been a while. I can't do the notification bell because my phone would be going off all day long! I just like to come on after work to chill for the night. That must be so frustrating!

Hello Bryan here from northern germany. Huge respect besides your videos for all your effort respondig to all the comments here personally. Keep it going, great channel, greetings.
Hello! Thank you so much for watching and your feedback! What part of Germany? What's the weather like there at this time? Have a great week and thanks again!
@@bawattsyl I'm living here at the westcoast north sea and even the weather is pretty sunny right now, we call it "golden autumn" but it can change fast here direct at the coastline.Greetings
@@frontsidegrinder6858 sounds very nice! The area I live in is very odd with weather. It's autumn here but this week it's been in the mid 80s . We haven't gotten any snow (I mean anything more than a dusting or maybe an inch ) in over 5 years. Our summers are brutal because not only is the temperature usually around 33 Celsius or higher.. but we also get 100% humidity making the temperature feel like 43 Celsius! I much prefer the weather out west.. dry heat.. get good snow in the mountains.. I hope to move out there someday! Thank you again for watching and sharing!
@@bawattsyl Ok, seems to be an exhausting climate overall where you live, but where is it?
@@frontsidegrinder6858 it really is! I don't like it at all! Aside sometimes every now and then we'll get real seasons.. I live in Canmore Alberta stories like this are heartbreaking
Great videos! This winter I will be starting my solo thru hike of the AT!! Terrified ofc, but excited to goooooo! ❤
Thank you! That's awesome about your AT thru hike and a winter one at that! Are you doing nobo or sobo? When are you starting? It's supposed to be a mild winter for much of the east coast so maybe that will help you! 🙏
why go on a solo hike it is ridiculous
@@bawattsyl yes, I am hoping! I will be NOBO departing January.
@@Jennifer-sw6ge well let me know when you get up to northern Shenandoah National Park! If you need anything, I can drive out and help you!
@@beaulieuc8910 Its my dream to thruhike it and my spouse can’t take the time away. I want to accomplish this goal and so why would I put it off? No one is promised a tomorrow. Also, I enjoy solitude in nature. I won’t be alone long, February registrations are coming in and not everyone registers their hike so there will be loads no doubt. I do have an Inreach Mini and protection so I know all will be well.
First time listening, i'm from Los Angeles and i'm a real Outdoorsman. I do alot of Sportfishing & Hiking. I like following missing hiker cases.
Thank you for watching and sharing your passion! What are some of your favorite places to go? I usually come out west every summer and hike parts of the PCT, help on any missing cases etc. Thanks again for watching and welcome to the Channel!
@@bawattsyl i like going on a full day or half day fishing charter trip to Catalina Island or to fish in the Santa Monica Bay. As for the hiking, i hike the trailheads of the San Gabriel Valley Mountains. If you cover any of the California missing hiking cases or any lost at sea cases, i'll most definitely check them out.
@@Nick_Ramirez89 I've probably covered more missing cases in California than any other state or country.. I've worked many in the field.. You're Adventures sound amazing! I love fishing! Though, I haven't been able to any of the times I've been out west. I hope to eventually move out there.. then it will be easier! Here is the link to that video I was talking about: ruclips.net/video/b3rEIcr7N9w/видео.htmlsi=Q8uFOb6b-SdJCmFa
It's all beautiful out in the wild, but dangerous and unpredictable.
There was a snow storm, hopefully they are found safe.
Yeah unfortunately this is the time of year when big snow and other foul weather gets bad..I hope he was able to make it further south and hopefully will be found soon🙏thank you for watching and your feedback!
There's a very large area in that province known as the BC Triangle, which is very similar to the Bermuda Triangle, with many strange unsolved disappearances.
Weird to find keys , phone and gun in a dudes car if he was out hunting (obviously) .. foul play perhaps?
Yes that's what I was thinking too.. but hopefully not🙏
@@bawattsyl And of course there’s always the thought of a possible mental health crisis… hopefully neither of course
All valid points. Hopefully either way, each man will be found safe🙏 thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Thanks

Ok Bryan, the guy missing in Chetwyn is near us and a couple other people went missing this year in coastal b.c as well. This is just creepy. Slso creepy that i erote on h2h that we need hunters to look for lost people. Its overwhelming.. when it happens to someone close to you. But the two areas are reatively close.. weird. I hope we find out what happend.
No they were not found. Sunshine is referring to youtube channel by Steve called the facts by how to hunt. He has info, you should contact him
Hungry bears in the Fall...
…can’t hide all the evidence they create, not it all…
That's true, but in any apex Predator attack such as a bear or mountain lion, there's always lots of evidence of it..
I think in the case of Jim Barnes, foul play is a big possibility.. but🤷♂️
wow almost 100 K wow !! nice.

I wonder if Murphy ran off after something and Jim went after him and then had an accident. Hopefully both of these men (and Murphy) will be found safe.
I think that's odd 2 people go missing from the same general area, on the same day. What are the odds of that?
I AGREE! VERY CREEPY! 😱😱😱😱😱
I don't know but it seems the odds are growing:( sadly.. but hopefully both men will be found safe🙏🙏
. I pray these two men are found. It's almost too coincidental they would disappear on the same day. I'm interested in the giveaway
I hope and pray too 🙏 but I think in the case of Jim Barnes, foul play may be involved.. 😮 but I truly hope not and hope they are both found safe🙏

I live in BC
That Chetwynd area the hunter went missing is seriously Sketchy.
Such a strange place to go missing for the guy and dog
One hell of a coincidence. Appears there is possibly a madman that went on a little spree.
I hope that's not the case! I think in Jim Barnes case, foul play is a strong possibility.. but in Sam's case, I'm thinking more of an injury or possibly getting caught in a snow storm that went through.. either way I hope both men are found safe🙏🙏
It's the Groundbirch Forestry Service Road where his truck was found. Jim lives in Fort St John BC.
3:25 I wouldn't say this is a particularly good time of year to go on a 10 day solo hike in a remote mountainous area.
A very isolated part of Canada. Beautiful, but very sparsely populated
Enter me in to the GIVEAWAY, plz! Thx for keeping these people in focus!
Are these disappearances anywhere near The Headless Valley? ( that’s the first video of yours I watched)
Strange they both disappear around the same day .

A wild man or a wild beast is my guess..
🙏
I think it’s grizzly bears…especially when the dog goes missing with the human I think it was a grizzly,

People need to be more aware and alert nowadays.
it has to be a bear, men are never dangerous
Thank you for watching!
I will keep investigating and staying on top of cases. Please let me know if you hear of any! Thank you for watching and your thoughts and feedback!
I wonder if they both encountered someone or a group?

No excuse nowadays to not have a satellite tracking device such as a zoleo or garmin.
I always encourage this too.. but some people can't afford them or think they will have to pay a year long expensive subscription. Which isn't true. I've helped many people find good slightly used devices. I bought mine slightly used and it's great, been going strong since 2019.
but of course it's just as important to activate them and learn how to use them.. which sounds obvious but I've covered many cases where the missing person had one but had never activated it:(
I know there's a relatively new non-profit in southern California that apparently is offering free devices, help with setup etc. Which if true is amazing! Thank you for watching and your feedback!
