    thanks Steve and thank you for the nice complements everyone that has posted here.
    It's a lot of work every single day. Lots of water changes etc. help keep water clear and clean. I have been in the hobby including the business over 38 years. also been to SA collecting, Africa diving Malawi and Australia great Barrier reef and rainforest. Been fortunate to do what I have loved most of my life.
    Support your LFS we are a rare & dying breed. :)

      Something Fishy Inc. Wow a metal frame tank. Brings back memories. My 1st tank was given to me as a hand me down and it was a 10 gal metal frame with a corner bubbler.

    • @lizzyanthus1
      @lizzyanthus1 7 лет назад +3

      I also started out with the old metal framed and slate bottomed tanks! Kind of dates us, doesn't it? LOL I loved those tanks. Heavy as all heck though. And yup, the little corner boxed filters. I was so dumb back then. Always threw away the filter floss when cleaning them, and the charcoal. Must have been crashing my cycle every time. Ugh. The hobby has certainly come a long way, hasn't it?!

    I've been getting fish from Dave almost the whole time he's had the store and I've also been downstairs it's mind blowing if you love chiclids. Dave and staff have always been friendly and there all very knowledgeable. If you love chiclids this is the place for you. I will always patronize his esablisment.

    Hi there. I noticed your tanks don't have any Gravel in them. IMO this makes them look much better as your deco is simple and effective. Do you leave Gravel out just for aesthetic reasons or just that it makes water changes quicker. I thought you needed Gravel for bacteria. Thanks Clifford

      Thanks for your reply Dave. How often do you do water changes?

    • @davehale2007
      @davehale2007 7 лет назад +4

      It all depends on the tank and bio load. Some almost daily like the fahaka puffer because a messy fish etc. Some once a week some once a month. With over 500 tanks and around 34,000 gallons we do a lot.
      Sunday maybe only day I do not do water changes unless there is a problem tank?
