Correct as Cholder pivoted from financial planning credentials-WM soley into PM arduous time grind with family mortages etc (as not in 20s) was navy sealesque mental game as could not study while kids, awake... long nights on treadmill.... nice to be able to relax and not be thinking should be studying now.. too
Wow, that sounds like an intense journey-definitely a Navy SEAL-level grind! 💪 Balancing family, mortgages, and late-night study sessions must’ve taken serious mental strength. Glad you’re at a point now where you can relax without that constant “I should be studying” thought. You’ve earned that peace of mind! What’s next on your radar, or are you just enjoying the calm for now? 😊
For investment banking or private equity, go for CFA-it’s much more relevant. CPA is better for accounting roles, but CFA focuses on finance, valuation, and investments, which is what IB/PE firms look for. What area of finance are you most interested in? 😊
great video! what do you think about the combination of law and CFA? i am a law student interested in commerce and finance and i was thinking of doing cfa.
Thanks so much! 😊 The combination of law and CFA is super powerful, especially if you're interested in areas like corporate law, M&A, or financial regulation. It can open doors in investment banking, private equity, or compliance roles where both legal and financial knowledge are highly valued. If you're passionate about finance, CFA could be a great way to complement your law degree! What kind of roles are you leaning toward-legal advisory in finance or something else?
Hii! I'm a Japanese university student and interested in CFA. I want to do global market job at a company like Mitsubishi UFJ in the future. And I have a lot of free time compare to business person. But I have also one problem, it is learning cost.😢 The official text book is so expensive for me. Do you think thrift book published in few years ago still work for it??? If you have any other ideas, plese let me know🙏🏻🥺
Hey there! 👋 That’s such an awesome goal! 🌏 Working at a company like Mitsubishi UFJ sounds super exciting-and being interested in CFA at university is a great start! 💪 About the learning cost-totally get it, those official textbooks can be crazy expensive. 😅 Using books from a few years ago can still be helpful! The core concepts of finance and accounting don’t change much, so they’re great for building your foundation. Just make sure to check online for updates on CFA syllabus changes or new standards (the CFA Institute website often highlights them). Also, you might want to check out free or low-cost resources like RUclips tutorials, and even Reddit communities for CFA prep. 📚 Plus, don’t forget to join my FREE investment masterclass on Jan 2nd! 💸 It’s a great way to level up your financial skills without breaking the bank! @ Thank you so much for your kind answer!!! I'm interested in trading the most, but I'm also interested in structuring since it's close to my major, applied mathematics!! Also I'll check your class 😊
I am a software engineer with over 15 year of experience in software engineering but no experience in investment banking or any kind in financial sector. Is CFA worth for people like me to get into investment banking or financial sector with software engineering experience ? I am willing to invest in the hard work and commitment to get through the CFA. I am little worried about AI taking over software engineering discipline. I see the value of domain knowledge in the age of AI. Please advise.
