God it's sad seeing how pathetically small the crowds for NPC are nowadays. I remember going to this fixture at the cake tin in the 2000's and it was almost a full house. And before anyone blames Super Rugby, it was around back then as well, and even more popular too. NZRU need to sort their crap out otherwise in 10 years time we'll be in the same position as the Australian RFU....
We don't even have the equivalent of the NPC; our NRC 0 funding at all. [Australia] RA aren't providing any goods to find more/new talents from in the country anymore
You know when you see those players that are going to do big things. Josh Southall stands out to me in that way. Very intelligent and athletically gifted footballer.
Well yes if you are only looking at the view from the dead ball line you could say that. I didn't see the full coverage but potentially he grounded the ball before that scramble. Not saying he did or didn't but in the live picture, at the point there was most likely a grounding, if there was a grounding, the view of the ball is obscured by the Wellington no.9.
Outrageous decisions by the referee. No grounding, award a try anyway, and a forward pass ignored so Wellington scored again. On the other end, it's a penalty try all day long.
Oh wow. Stop the press. It’s a crime when decisions actually go against Canterbury and they finally don’t get the rub of the green. Grow big boy pants and accept sometimes you don’t always get the calls your way. Great game. Great reffing.
They're not that expensive at all. Relatively speaking, tickets to a rugby game in NZ are cheaper than any other country I've attended games in. NZRU is just crap at promoting and marketing the game. Also doesn't help that security in NZ stadiums treat fans like prisoners either.@@mathewkirk1748
Cracker of a match. Hey forwards, if you are on the wrong side of the ball in a rolling maul, doing something useless like yanking on a jersey, or something dumb like taking an opponent’s legs out, you aren’t helping. You may as well become a back.
Wellington were given 3 try that weren't try, 2 by the daydreaming TMO and one that didn't go to the TMO. Wellington number 13 try, shouldn't have been given because he was clearly offside. The TMO stuffed that one up and also another one which was clearly held up and never touch the ground, which the TMO awarded for some reason, obviously high on illegal substances. There was clearly a forward pass in the lead up to a Wellington try, that wasn't checked.
"Wellington number 13 try, shouldn't have been given because he was clearly offside" He enters the tackle area legally and is above the tackled player. He is first to have his hands on the ball... picks up said ball and runs away for a try ...not his problem the nearest Canterbury players were not focusing. He was not offside let alone "clearly offside" "that wasn't checked" ... every try in every game at all levels all over the rugby world are signed off by the TMO when there is a TMO in place. No Wellington tries shown in this highlights package involved a forward pass. There was one which came from a clear lateral pass from the hands. Slow motion and pause functions are your friend. I'm not sure the TMO is the only one allegedly on "illegal substances" Cameron.
Gee .. well done Welly. Backing up a few days after the hard fought Tasman game … and against a team stacked with super players - you would have been excused if you had lost. Canterbury … no excuse. Not good enough. And don’t be immature enough to blame the reffing. It’s all on yourselves.
Great performance Welly. Both teams stacked with outstanding young talents
Hey I know you!! Hi 👋 😊

That boy Riley higgins is going to be a star

Yep, him and Peter Lakai are the future for Wellington rugby and both might get a look for the ABs during the next world cup cycle.
The commentators were on fire for this game 😂
Can't understand why there was so little crowd there watching !! Some high profile players on the field from current to ex to future ABs.
Warriors are having a good season, they bandwagon the entire NRL
Um.. That's held up if I've ever seen one 👀
Not to mention a forward pass or the failure to award a penalty try to Canterbury
Well yes if you are only looking at the view from the dead ball line you could say that.

3 wins for storm week including Shield challenge vs Tasman and away vs Canterbury boom
Once again the NZ crowd should be ashamed of not supporting their team useless
Welly deep..its our era
Higgins, Lakai. Big futures
I loved Piri as a player but he should give the commentary a rest
Quality game with some great talent....Mr Robertson
Great match. Well done Wellington.
Peter Umanga-Jensen, running like his dad right up the guts... great run and try
That try was held up all day. Criminal.
Two tries Wellington got that weren't tries. One a forward pass early in the movement & the one that was held up.
Agree, but that's rugby.
Ref has a mare.Should be stood down for a week.
@colinmeehan791 . No make it 3 years to teach him a lesson to NOT BLOODY CHEAT.
Cry about it

05:35 = Try of the season?
What a game
Nice one Wellington!
Why are the stands in NYC rugby so empty?
This question needs to be accompanied by, “Why are the tickets so expensive for domestic footy?”
@@mathewkirk1748 fair questions. Can attend a warriors game for $10.00!

Did you notice how shite the refereeing is? You never know who the referee is going to help win!
Chicago Doyle sounds familiar
No luck,poor reffing.
He's the youtube wonder kid from 10 years ago who was touted as the next DC. Good to see him still going hard
Rendered unwatchable because of the similarity of the Co,ours. Why on earth can’t the teams wear contrasting jerseys?

How bad was that officiating. As a neutral that's embarrassing. I'd be fuming if I was the coach.
Why such badbattendance? Everyone staying home and doing the Facebook now?
Cunterbury lose.
Inadequate referring in local games is why NZ Rugby is looking so pathetic.
luck of the whistle
Crusaders need to resign manasa and drop fihaki
