Now Times Square is more modern with flashy billboard signs and new buildings and everthing there is now expensive. I went there on vacation in February of 2008 while staying in Union City, New Jersey.

I last ate at a Howard Johnson's in Times Square in the early 2000's and i remember that it wasn't good at all.

I have a very vague memory from early childhood of eating at a Howard Johnson's with my parents.. I couldn't have been more than 4 years old but somehow that memory was able to stick.. I do remember it being Howard Johnson's and I think it was in New Jersey.. But I don't remember a whole about the food.. I think it was breakfast items though..

HOJO's 😄 It's funny, I was just reading about them in the past couple of weeks and I think that there is still one in the USA if I remember correctly. It's probably owned by the buyout company but I will have to check that. Of course HOJO was also playing for the Mets as I am sure you remember ;) I only really caught the tail end of Times Square, from 1985 onward, but I had to go there quite often. This was before the Internet and there used to be a Newsagent on the other side of the road that sold the British papers. Do you remember the Islamic guys that used to preach on the corners back then?

I was wrong, the last one closed two years ago in Lake George, NY.

Yes.. All the Howard Johnson's restaurant are gone.. The hotels are still around though.. Times Square was quite a place, I was never really a big times square person but the few times I did go way back when I do remember all the urban squalor.. I don't remember the Islamic preachers, but its certainly not hard to imagine them being over there.. Also the ladies of the evening were not hard to find..😂😂😂
