Hood Ornaments need to make a comeback. They are breakaway now for pedestrian safety and they used to help one center the car on lanes when driving and also gave perspective to the length of the hood.
I had a 77' coupe, mine was powder blue with bench seats. Sold it to my godson when he was ready to buy his first car. You made the comment about it being like a boat? I don't ever recall having to drop anchor after I had to park. I sure miss that Cadillac!
I really LOVE these old land yachts as they are often called here in the UK. I saw a beautiful one at a car show a few years back, but it was a 76 but in that same metallic brown. I took photo's of it because these cars are very rare in the UK, I love the style of these old cars. I used to see American cars a lot back in the 70's but these things are really thin on the ground now. Especially here in the UK. I have loads of photo's of different cars from the 40's up to more recent stuff, which somehow just does not have the same appeal. Great cars from a great time.
I had a 77 several years ago and it was a good car. I've got a 78 model now I've had since 97 it was my great uncle car it has 23 thousand miles on it. I never drive it I just got it for sentimental reasons it's sea mist green with dark green vinyl top
I used to own the same except for the padded white roof (mine was the same body color). I loved the cushy boat ride. After this one, I got '78 Eldorado Biarritz (beige and brown two tone). The Cadillac in '75-'79 are my favorites.
You're thinking of Goodfellas, not Donny Brasco. Henry Hill owned a 1979 Coupe DeVille Phaeton in Western Saddle.

No, he is right.Donnie Brasco is with this car, correctly pictured in the video.Only an other type of stearing wheel, might be a different year. Donnie Drives a Coupe and also a 4 door sedan in the movie. "- You like the DeVille?- Forget about it".
@elvistheeldorado The owner actually had it sold and changed his mind! He saw the ad I made for him with the photos and changed his mind. I had the rear painted for him and he put it back in the garage. He wouldnt just sell it to anyone either. He was real torn on that car. While driving that car you really get a lot of looks and great comments. While shooting that video I was interrupted twice. If you want to sell you're Caddy or anything post it on our site. I have 2 older Caddy's on the site.
Look the thing is when I have sold cars I actually will weed out the unwanted people. I can always tell who will be a problem. Also I have never sold a car from someone in the tri-state area. I like out of state buyers, and not cause I am selling junk either. Just an easier flow of transaction, plus I never have to see my old car.
I ask no one to take this personal. "Here we go" , Cadillacs are not barges, landyacths', boats, pimp machines or anything of that elk. These are classic American luxury motorcars. I do not see the same slurs used for foreign shoe boxes.
Auto Ad Builder Not trying to start a debate. I come from a time when if someone purchased such an automobile you had achieved a certain amount of success. The same can be said for Lincoln and Chrysler. I don't think those same individuals would after working hard to get this level. Could be content owning a barge. Unless of course you are a longshoreman. 😆
LoL these aren't big boats! They were the predecessors of the Big Boats up thru the 1976 model year. The '77s were downsized and more compact with the excess fat cut away. It's all relevant. I was there when the downsizing happened.
Kara King Thats one took long because of the owner not wanting to sell it. He actually had it sold that month and backed out. It took him maybe a year to let it go to that same person who wanted it originally. I would see around from time to time, but not lately.
I am the same way, I would tell you to fuck off! So you couldnt burn my car! Not a guido. Would you give your cat (kittens) away to just anyone????? Think about it.

Beautiful car! And thanks for the interesting commentary
Hmmm I may do that, I have seen a car show on 17 in the Lowes parking lot I think. I have seen that Medieval Times place from Route 3.
Those wheels look like Daytons not true spokes.
I missed my 1977 caddy it was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy ! 🥲
What are thoses wheels ?
A guy I grw up with mother had a blue with the white top It was pretty. Not a Brougham but just as nice.
My Grandma had two of them at the same time I'll wait one with red leather interior and a blue one with a white top and cream interior that was cloth
in donnie brasco there are two cadillacs a coupe like this one and a 4 door
They had the 4 door in Donny Brasco

I gather, but who says a Barge is bad thing?

Did you look it up?

It's like driving a diner table around....
just wondering how long did it take to sell
