Absolutely gorgeous, keep it dry & out of the sun. This is the car I would want & would maintain it as such. You're the guy after my own heart. Great job, Sir!
Hey all, I sold this car. I'm leaving the video up because its really fun to see such a clean old car. But it's no longer available. Thanks to everyone for the views and posts!
This was the "Win-Win" year, in a sense. No troublesome V8-6-4 engine (yet) combined with the gorgeous restyle for 1980. I believe the color is Victoria Plum Firemist code 92. Well preserved time capsule!
The difference between Deville and Fleetwood varied considerably over the years. Bottom line: for 1980, Fleetwood was mainly just a higher trim-level with a few cosmetic differences.
I have a 1982 Sedan Deville. It belonged to my Grandmother, and my dad bought it for me for $500 when she passed away. I'll end up putting at least $3000 into it to get it to be pretty again. At the moment it's so out of shape that it's hard to know where to start on restoration. I have been looking for what I want to have done to it. I would prefer keeping it's originality but that's highly unlikely considering the condition of the car. Seeing this gorgeous car makes me want to fix it up quicker. I'll be going with red interior and white exterior, maybe red exterior. Very beautiful Cadi you have!
I've looked at a few videos of 1980 Cadillac Coupe DeVilles, I must say this one is by far the most prestine, original, and collectible one I've seen so far!!
@MrOlynski: Thanks it really is a cool car. I really hope someone who appreciates it ends up with it. My buddy who bought the car would be happy to know it is preserved and enjoyed!
The best I can tell the car has the original Firestone 7-2-1 radials on it. It easily won most original in it's class at the Cadillac Grand National in 2010.
Hi Jeff Seeing that video brings back memories of my own 1980 Coupe de Ville de Elegance that I owned from 1990 - 1996.. The one I had was purchased from the original owner and it only had 50K miles. It too had been garage kept, and was in top drawer condition. I think in many ways the 1980 was the last of an era. Mine had the 368 motor, which is very desirable, and of course the engine size dropped to a ridiculously small and underpowered 4.1 liter in 1982 or so, I think. Not that mine was a hot rod, but it could at least get out of its own way, unlike the subsequent ones with the smaller engine. Mine was the medium blue metallic color with the half vinyl landau roof and coach lamps, and it had every possible option, including a factory CB radio and self adjusting rear air shocks. It rode like a dream and really looked incredible with timeless good looks. The seats weren't any sort of performance sport seats, but I could drive all day without my back going out. Those were some of the best seats of any car I've owned. I wish I still had it, it still is a striking looking car; very regal and majestic looking, with commanding road presence. It was the personification of 1000 blues songs that mention Cadillac. People would see me pull up in that car and say now THAT'S a Cadillac. I put 80K miles on it during the time I owned it, drove it cross country from southern California to Vancouver BC Canada to Miami Beach and all points in between. When I sold it I got back exactly what I paid for it. How do you account for the super low mileage on what was a 30 year old car when you made the video? Did you buy it new? That's really stunning. I have to say I'm not a fan of the rear bumper guards, I think it looks cleaner without those, but of course opinions vary, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for the memories.
Connor, my friend did not buy the car new, but we were aware of its situation for more than 10 years. It was someone's mother's car that was seldom driven then stored after she quit driving altogether. I did not care for the bumper guards either but they were a dealer - installed option.
Beautiful 1980 Coupe de Ville. I remember these cars when they were newly introduced in the fall of 1979. Always one of my favorites. If you still have the car for sale next summer (2012) I will definitely consider purchasing it.
The Cadillac of the motoring world, a fill of petrol, a touch on the starter, smooth sailing on a cloud like ride! The white walls are the pièce de résistance .
I've not got one yet! My friend has a trans-am and he said driving on wrong side of the car takes some getting used to. I think these old caddy's get up to about 11 or 12 mpg. Not bad as long as it's not for driving all the time. Best get a diesel Mercedes or something similar
Of this model series... your best bet, if you can find one... is a 1980 model... 81-84 Cadillac had two major engine fails... The V8-6-4 and the HT4100
@@fragilethunder6649 I have owned a number old collector caddies, very few complaints on the 8-6-4- engine,if you don't like the 864 just disconect the solenoids,it's a 368 cu.in. engine, stay far far away from the 4.1 liter engine, worse engine g.m. ever made,4.1 was in 82 to 86.
When this first came out, I thought it was gonna be as long as it looked in the books, but I was wrong. Today it's a veritable giant compared to those that are being made in the here and now!!
I had a 1979 which was the last of the great big blocks 425ci carb, TH400 trans... Was a really good car! I would go for that motor over the 1980 version...
It's really the same block as the 425, and even the 500, I believe. Just a smaller bore for fuel economy. I thought it ran similarly, as I had a 77 coupe with that same 425. 368 was bulletproof in 1980. In' 81 they went to the V8-6-4, which was problematic, but only the shifting electronics.
This car looks Practically almost new. Does the car have any original factory parts on it when it was first built or things were changed over the years.
Why does everyone have a fear of showing the rear end of the vehicle? Cadies have amazing trunk and tail light designs. Especially the one model of Coupe Deville with that sloped look.
Wow that coupe is clean and sound outstanding I wish I would have seen this one before I got my's I have a 80 coupe to but got a little minor work to do to it and I will make me a youtube video but I love your car.
Nick, the price of that Cadillac would be at least $25k today. Add $10K for all thesafety and technology even in a base Cadillac, and you can buy something like that today. A lot better car and better gas mileage too.
How are the plastic front and rear fender fillers? It like like the factory antenna was replaced. They usually broke within a year of when the car was new.
Adi Kathi 1981 was the only year for V8-6-4. 1980 was the same 368 6.0 liter engine but without the cylinder deactivation systems. 1982 was the awful, weak V8 4.1L.
This car is for sale, If you are seriously interested please contact me at jeffpendleton@hotmail.com The car is located in Kansas City, Mo, I am asking $11,000, but will consider a reasonable offer. Thanks, Jeff
There are just situations where that happens. You can guess this car was purchased by an elderly man who garaged it from day-1, but died a few years afterward. His widow didn't drive or drove sparingly. After a few more years maybe the second battery died and the old woman never drove it again, but lived 20 more years in the same house. After the estate was settled the kids sold it. It happens more than you'd think. This car still had the original tires on it, really!
Man my 80 coupe blue with a white top the thing that sucked it had a radoar leak and the coolent temp light did not come on so it caught on fire i got it but it exspaded to pistens so the block no good had to buy a 89 fleet wood the same coler as yours peaple called it the war macine cause i got my money out of that one
SARGE!!! SARGE!!!! I might be a little late, but you don't have to pull the bumper. I do remember pulling the lights, and making holes in the aftermarket bumper fillers, for a better fit. The job only requires basic tools.
Absolutely gorgeous, keep it dry & out of the sun. This is the car I would want & would maintain it as such. You're the guy after my own heart. Great job, Sir!

This is my dream car. Just beautiful.
Mines also!!!
carnell alford sane gonna save up for one they look amazing😍 , prefer this over a Lamborghini
Ikr
I had an 1980 Coupe Deville with the 368 V8. It was the best car I ever owned.
If I had this car i would NEVER sell it! sure is a sweet looking Caddy :D
This was the "Win-Win" year, in a sense. No troublesome V8-6-4 engine (yet) combined with the gorgeous restyle for 1980. I believe the color is Victoria Plum Firemist code 92.
Well preserved time capsule!
the color looks like rust
@GANGSTA RICO FROM PICO FUCK YOU
@Jay Bleezee YOU ARE GAY
Viewed 1-8-2018. This was a outstanding Cadillac. What I would call the Real McCoy! Best regards
Hey nice film footage . . . We got a tree, some grass, some upholstery up close, a door handle, . . . We still were not shown the car.
I loved that car. I was with my Grandfather when he purchased his brand new 1982.
The difference between Deville and Fleetwood varied considerably over the years. Bottom line: for 1980, Fleetwood was mainly just a higher trim-level with a few cosmetic differences.
Okay thanks Jeff. It's hard to find any car from the 80's in as good a shape as that Cadillac. Great video.
Wonderful Cadillac thanks Jeff , wish Caddy's were made like this today. Now they are hot rods and cost 100k .
Such a beautiful car :)
Agreed bro.

Good luck with the 4100.
That is a very pretty car -- and it is made better by being original in appearance instead of "pimped out" the way so many are today.
those are called slabs and they look way better
Wicked Houston No they don't. They're the literal opposite of what a Cadillac from this era should be.
thats what poor people say
Wicked Houston No its what people who have class say. You don't own a luxury car so you can add every gaudy aftermarket crap you can think of.
I've looked at a few videos of 1980 Cadillac Coupe DeVilles, I must say this one is by far the most prestine, original, and collectible one I've seen so far!!
Thanks, I do regret having sold it!
Amazing time capsule. Beautiful car.
omg she's a beauty i love these two door models
@MrOlynski: Thanks it really is a cool car. I really hope someone who appreciates it ends up with it. My buddy who bought the car would be happy to know it is preserved and enjoyed!
a lot better looking coupe than the late 70s. such a shame you can't buy anything like this today.
The best I can tell the car has the original Firestone 7-2-1 radials on it. It easily won most original in it's class at the Cadillac Grand National in 2010.
beautiful. too bad i can never have car like that here
Look at the bright side maybe some day you will own one :D
Wow nice Coupe Deville these cars looked better with the 1/2 tops and the opera lamps.
Almost everything on the car is original, even the hoses, belts and tires!

Nothing about the '73 Coupe Deville, but the '80 is also cooool! Pretty nice car!!!!!!
Excellent vehicle!!! It's in wonderful condition too!
Beautiful Car!!! That's what I think of when I think of a Cadillac. Not these Japanese/German copycats they build today 😡
Beautiful 1980 Coupe de Ville. I remember these cars when they were newly introduced in the fall of 1979. Always one of my favorites. If you still have the car for sale next summer (2012) I will definitely consider purchasing it.
The power antennas broke immediately and you had to remove the let front fender to replace it. This one appears to have an aftermarket antenna on it.
Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful!
The Cadillac of the motoring world, a fill of petrol, a touch on the starter, smooth sailing on a cloud like ride! The white walls are the pièce de résistance .
Bill Bright what type of Grill is that
Reminds me of the DeVille J.Depp drove in Donnie Brasco.
The best car in the world it's American car i love it
I live in England and thinking of importing one of these from Florida. it's an older one than this and is a light yellow colour really nice
I've not got one yet! My friend has a trans-am and he said driving on wrong side of the car takes some getting used to. I think these old caddy's get up to about 11 or 12 mpg. Not bad as long as it's not for driving all the time. Best get a diesel Mercedes or something similar

@codetwohigh , sorry it has been sold.

I hope whoever bought it kept it original.
i love that chime noise
This is amazing
Watching this 2022 , it looks beautiful,I take you may still own it ?
As good as it gets right there!
these were nice looking cars
I had a 1979 which was the last of the great big blocks 425ci carb, TH400 trans... Was a really good car! I would go for that motor over the 1980 version...

Chad, I know that seems true, but realistically, I was losing my storage for it and had two other hobby cars at the time.
Beautiful car!
Have a 77 just wish they'd kept the 425
This car looks Practically almost new. Does the car have any original factory parts on it when it was first built or things were changed over the years.
I'll take it!
I owned an 80 as well beautiful caddy
Sweet wheels.
Your saying the tires on that car was built with the car in 1980?
Why does everyone have a fear of showing the rear end of the vehicle? Cadies have amazing trunk and tail light designs. Especially the one model of Coupe Deville with that sloped look.
It is sooo Beautiful 3
Isn't it? I love Cadillacs!
That is my dream car but the four door all black no tint white walls with original Cadillac rims
migel sanchez
Sounds slick.
U shouldn't have sold that caddy...
Oh shit, nice
Is it restored? Looks awesome!
Wow that coupe is clean and sound outstanding I wish I would have seen this one before I got my's I have a 80 coupe to but got a little minor work to do to it and I will make me a youtube video but I love your car.
Beautiful car
That boy clean!!!!!! Just look at her 😎
What's the difference between a 1980 Cadillac Deville and 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood?
Omg it's more good than ma life
It's beautiful
sareia jabali: I'm sure your life is more beautiful than this chunk of iron...but it is a pretty nice car!
beautiful
wow..is it sold now?..why sell it?
nice trunk. you could put 5 bodies in there lol
Nick, the price of that Cadillac would be at least $25k today. Add $10K for all thesafety and technology even in a base Cadillac, and you can buy something like that today. A lot better car and better gas mileage too.
My wish is to have this car
Take care of the car
How are the plastic front and rear fender fillers? It like like the factory antenna was replaced. They usually broke within a year of when the car was new.
Having owned quite a few 80's and 90's caddies, it's almost tradition that antenna doesn't work and that the drivers arm rest is cracked.
Put some swangas on that, Jim. You'd look street.
how much were you asking and how much did you get for it?
Esperanto ^^
wow amazing
AMMAZING
This is the peak of humanity
Man I'm lowrider till I die but she's so nice I wouldn't even put true spokes on it
I was thinking a set of Tru Spokes and Vogues would look great on it.
cadillac with v8-6-4 displacement :) i love it - i own one :)
Adi Kathi 1981 was the only year for V8-6-4. 1980 was the same 368 6.0 liter engine but without the cylinder deactivation systems. 1982 was the awful, weak V8 4.1L.
How much this fine piece of machinery cost today
It's a beautiful car... Is it still for sale ?
This car is for sale, If you are seriously interested please contact me at jeffpendleton@hotmail.com The car is located in Kansas City, Mo, I am asking $11,000, but will consider a reasonable offer. Thanks, Jeff
Beautiful car. How much did you sell it for?
You must be proud
for buy
Do you still have this Caddy? Is it for sale?
Lovely car. Do you know anyone who is licensed to convert it to rhd????
Is the colour of this beautiful Cadillac Coupe DeVille, Medium Red Pearl ?.
Or is the colour description by GM something different.
Sorry Paul, I don't know and have sold the car.
I used to own exactly the same car, I think it's Saxony red.
I don't understand how so many classics I see from America have basically no miles on it. It doesn't make sense to me. (?!)
There are just situations where that happens. You can guess this car was purchased by an elderly man who garaged it from day-1, but died a few years afterward. DID U HAVE TO DROP THE REAR BUMPER TO PUT THOSE BUMPER GAURDS ON? I JUST BOUGHT A SET AND CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE THEN INSTALLED.
I believe these were dealer-installed bumper guards, so I don't know for sure. I would really doubt the bumper needed to be removed, though.
+Jeff Pendleton THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY JEFF. I JUST LOVE THAT RED CADDY.
SARGE!!! SARGE!!!! I might be a little late, but you don't have to pull the bumper. I do remember pulling the lights, and making holes in the aftermarket bumper fillers, for a better fit. The job only requires basic tools.
Who else came here after watching jakes vlog
Me
And a big difference is the engine!! Fleetwood has a 4,1L
