This machine was a bear to put together. There were several places where the bolts would not fit through the holes because the holes weren't lining up. I was able to eventually get all of them except for one. For now I'm leaving it out, but eventually I may drill the hole larger so it will fit. The cool thing is, if you ever move, you only have to detach the three assemblies that attach the two side assemblies, and then simply transport those 5 subassemblies separately. A couple other notes on this machine: The free weight squat J-hooks don't go up high enough, so unless you're 5'5" or shorter, or willing to stoop down unnaturally low to shoulder the bar, you'll either have to drill holes higher up or just use the Smith bar (that's what I do). Also, I use the included dip station attachment for captain chair leg raises, although it's pretty awkward because I have to keep my arms straight and locked, and kind of rest my butt on the cross piece of the attachment. I really wish they had included a captain chair attachment that plugs into the frame of the machine in the same way as the dip station!

Anyone know how much the actual bar weight is installed on the machine?

question, i seen that you put the plastic over the plate holders. before you put the plastic on, was the size of those bars 1 inch? i'm asking because with the plastic, it looks like it fits 2 inch Olympic weights but I have 1 inch plates, so if i don't install the plastic covering, i may be able to put my 1 inch plates on that pully and bench press plate holder.

can anyone confirm that you can bench press with the smith machine bar? or is just meant for squats? Seems like a bench wouldn't fit well without hitting the weight rack in back

You need to ask them to send you some. You shouldn't have to fabricate anything. You paid for a product you didn't fully get. And this costs alot of money.

Yes, you can do free weight bench press (in which case you'll have to supply your own bar), or use the Smith Machine bar.

I'm perplexed as to what they were thinking making the holes for the J-hooks only go to ~4'6". This is a bit ridiculous this makes it very akward (and unsafe for heavier weight) for two core barbell exercises: squats and standing barbell presses for anyone over 5'5" (almost all males and ~50% of females in American and EMEA countries). Also, a 300lbs weight limit on the smith and cage is anemic, most guys will find this too little or outgrow it and forget about rack pulls.
My guess is either a) the footprint of the cages is too small to safely support holding a bar with weight over 4'5", and/or the steel gauge is too light for a higher capacity (although I've owned other cages that have the same gauge and are rated to hold much heavier). Bad design, or simply designed for the Asian market? Regardless, this is a dealbreaker for most folks on this piece of equipment. Unfortunate, since it's otherwise quality.

How is this explained step by step when you make the video using time-lapse? Step by Step means taking your time to explain each step of the process. I just bought the same setup and was looking for someone to offer instructions. Hard to follow when it's lightspeed! Just saying.
Step by step? Really? Jesus. So you just tell us what you’re going to do and then speed it up. Done! Ta da!!! Isn’t that easy?!! Damn dude, SHOW US! Show the route of the cabling, how the guides actually connect with and affect the cables…. You know, the STEP BY STEP how to!!!! Waste of time.
