I couldn't agree more with you about the music. I actually kinda pisses me off how often I see people rag on the game for the music, when they are so clearly missing what the soundtrack is trying to communicate. I think it's brilliantly composed and executed, and will defend the "two piano hits" until the day I die.
Uproar Bot Well, naturally, but you have to start at the base of it and chase a flower up and down it twice then chase a sparkly spot which becomes a pinwheel, causing 3 balloons to spin around which need to be hit with arrows. These balloons have rocks inside them that, when popped, fall and need to be put in a circle with other rocks. Then one of those rocks in the circle can finally be lifted and the Korok is under that rock.
You forgot that the final rock actually reveals a big acorn that, when shot, triggers other acorns to be bounced in the sky above some nearby trees, and only by shooting those can you make several patch of yellow flowers appear, which you have to walk into in the right order.
ShycoWar You're right, I TOTALLY forgot that part! And then the flowers lead you to three trees with apples in them, which require you to pick the extras so all the trees are identical and then put said apples in Sheikah Stone trays in front of each tree.

What if having a save file with Hestu's Gift on your Switch gives you the ability to port Hestu's Gift over to the sequel, and you could exchange it in game for a pair of magic gloves that allow Link to climb unimpeded in the rain? Would you go out of your way to get all 900 Koroks then?
ILabs TacoMage haha same! i feel like I play a minimum of 3 hours if I ever pick up the game for "just a few minutes"! no regrets though, this game is so fun!
This happened to me last night. "Let's just grab this shrine right here so I can teleport next time. Oh I need to do a quest to open it. Ok let's do that. Oh look another 2 Shrines close by as well, gotta hit those up too. I still need to upgrade this gear so I'll do that quick after this Shrine. Oops picked up Fairies and forgot to upgrade, let's go back for that. Ooohh a Star Fragment! Ahh the Fire Dragon! Let's get a couple Scales and a Claw for gear upgrades and the Statue! Oh shit look at the time!" -.-
All these comments saying that BOTW doesn't have a good soundtrack. As much time that you spend in BOTW's massive world, it's good that the overworld themes don't have much to them so they don't get annoying. They're relaxing and add to the atmosphere. They may not be the kind of themes you can just sit and listen to, but that's where the other themes come in. When it comes to them, BOTW (in my opinion) actually has one of the BEST soundtracks in the series. My favorite themes in the game would probably be (in no particular order) Hyrule Castle, Vah Ruta Battle, and Molduga Battle Phase 2.
simple solution, rather than have one thing you hear over and over again (see the actual game) but with an actual decent amount of tune to it (see the other games), just compose lots of music, that way that'd be something else to explore for, to find where the music changes and to see how good these pieces are
I agree entirely. The whole experience of BOTW is supposed to be peaceful and with an overworld theme constantly thundering through the game it would kinda ruin some of the best moments that you can find.
I keep forgetting I posted this comment, so whenever I go back to listen to this medley I see it again with more and more likes and I'm like "oh damn." My opinion still stands though lol.
I think the Hyrule Castle track is my favorite out of them all in the game. It had so many snippets from past games like Ocarina of Time and Link To The Past. I just beat the game last night after 130 hours of exploring. It was quite possibly the best Zelda game I've ever played.
I finished it this week too after ~130hours (all sidequests, main quests, all shrines, memories, armor sets (not fully upgraded), full compendium, only 290 seeds) and while it is an excellent game, I started to get some "fatigue" from it near the end since I usually struggle with huge open world games (but since it was Zelda I had to make an exception). Marching on the castle at then end with my best looking set of armor, the Master Sword and the Hylian Shield was one the best experiences I've had in my gaming life EVER (I explored all of it). That Hyrule Castle track is just too damn good, and when the marching/drums sets in when you battle it just seals the deal. In the end I felt completely satisfied even with that ending, looking forward for the DLCs (mainly the Story one).
1:43 On a stroll through the fields, you hear the pure, gentle sound of an ocarina. As the music meets your ears, you smile and wonder who could be producing it--perhaps a waifish young boy, or a girl with the grace of an elf. You proceed and peek past a tree into a placid meadow... ...only to be met with the sight of some 20-something dude in jeans who looks like he belongs at a metal concert. (Great work as usual, Jules! Maybe this wasn't your intention when you started, but you've improved a lot on the ocarina.)
Me, the entire video: This had better include Hyrule Castle. This had better include Hyrule Castle. *gets near the end, you start playing Hyrule Castle* Me: Oh _shiiiiit!_ Yeeesss!
I got mad chills at 7:15. I adore that theme. Fantastic job, I also really liked the way music was done in this game. I hope you make a medley with the boss themes too at some point, they're all amazing, specially the last one.
I completely agree with your words in the description. I feel that if only people gave the soundtrack a chance, they could see how beautiful it really is. It's atmospheric, which makes the game very immersive. And it also has some killer tracks!
It certainly had some good tracks, sparsely inserted. Mostly it was good-but-not-hummable, and after the ludicrously high standard set by the first like DOZEN games, the fact that the musical quality started faltering was really disappointing.. so many things about skyward sword were.
@@beeftastesliketoenails94 Yeah that was a good one. It definitely has some highlights.. I can't stop listening to this. it's so well done and beautiful, you just continue to blow me away with everything you do. The location also looks exactly like you're in botw lol. keep up the amazing work Jules! you never, ever disappoint, and don't let the entitled rude people get you down, they really don't matter and it just goes to show what kind of person they are when they feel the need to be so ignorant and pathetically rude. I'd really just feel sorry for them that they were raised so poorly.
I love the soundtrack in this game. Especially just how carefully muted it is. So when you do hear a tune coming in its powerful. I only wish that the game had audio settings so I can crank it up a bit higher. The music is a bit hard to hear in places.
I have never clicked on even a Jules video so damn fast. I sunk well over 100 hours into the game without stopping and still want to go back to hunt down more shrines. I think I'm at, like, 85 now? Though, there were some great games in 2016. Not many, but some, such as DOOM. I would suggest a DOOM medley but it's kind of already metal, lol. But my favorite cover in this video is very easily your take on Hyrule Castle. BotW has the most powerful Hyrule Castle theme in the history of Zelda, easily. It even beats out A Link to the Past in that regard. It was an excellent reward for finishing all the Divine Beasts (not that the Beasts weren't fun to solve anyway). However I would have loved to hear you take on the Molduga theme, that was a really badass song.
I LOVE the way you cover the Divine Beast music in this song! So epic. And the Hyrule Castle theme is probably one of the most epic, inspiring Hyrule Castle themes in Zelda history, and one of my favorite "final" level themes. I really wish they had included the Divine Beast music in the soundtrack they included with the special edition.
I don't.. I don't think anyone else heard it but he still kept the SOS morse code beeping in the background of all the Divine Beast themes which - imo - makes me feel even more feels while listening to this. Great job!!
Awesome!!! I'm so in love with this game! And I totally feel your passion here - teared up a little during the Hyrule Castle section....such great work!
Thanks for this, Jules. Been playing Breath of the Wild and have been waiting for this one to come out from you for a bit. Badass as always, man. I thought the music was amazing alone but you made it millions of times better.
guess who still doesn't have a switch :,,,) anyway this is as breathtaking as everything else I've come to expect from you and every version of the trailer heme will always make me emotional.
Let's all be real. We all remember the first real trailer for BotW. When the music dropped, right at the canyon scene, we all got fucking chills. Admit it.
as a reaaaally big Zelda Fan I had really high expectations. Not because it was delayed all the time, because it's the first Zelda with a real open world and as Nintendo said a throwback to NES Zelda 1. So one of my biggest dreams should be come true. I got the Switch and the game at release and right after I came back from my job I started playin all the night (I literally took vacatations for that fucking game.). And right after I came out of the shrine of resurrection I was blowed away. The first look at the Twin Pieks had me in nostalgia (if you remember the zelda 1 artwork). The Hyrule Castle and the Home of the Ritos Theme had me in tears. A brilliant game. My game of the year.
Not going to lie, my favorite track from the entire game was Hyrule Castle. IMMEDIATELY I noticed Ballad of the Wind Fish and was like, "Oh my freaking god" and its segways into all of Ganon's theme, the Title Theme, and Zelda's themes are all just beautifully done.
This is so gorgeous. You poured everything you felt of BotW into this, like I can just FEEL that. I feel my heart sing along with the rhythm and I feel my bones grieve during Vah Ruta and the main melody of the BotW theme. Gosh this is such an emotional medley and I'm so blessed to have heard it. Thank you, Jules!! Please keep on rocking.
Here's to one of the greatest games of all time \m/ \m/ you nailed the Hyrule Castle theme, thought my body was ready for it to come, turns out, my body wasn't ready.
Jules, your bit in the description about people seeing it as less effective because they weren't hit in the the dick with song of storms 2 is So. fucking. on. point. like, everybody wants "you learned saria's song again!" also the musics are quite amazing
From the Stable theme to Metal Vah Rutah, Vah Rudania, Vah Medoh and Vah Naboris. Then time for the castle theme... I almost fell backwards. Loving your Medley dude!
This medley made me subscribe. The part that did it for me was 1:07 - 1:40....jeez. As a singer who understands melody and such, those chords and arrangements got me good. Especially while being played in "Metal Form"...sounds much more impactful. Loved it. By the way, 175 hours in and still haven't finished everything. Not even the DLC....FML....
I'm so glad you said what you did about the soundtrack. I will argue to the death that this game has a phenomenal soundtrack, yet people don't want to hear it or they call me mad for thinking it. Great video man! Really great interpretation and expression into it!
Dude your ocarina tone has gotten so much better. You have been able to play even more in tune now. I would suggest maybe adding a little more vibrato on longer notes on it, but other than that, the tone is sounding good on it. And of course your guitar playing is amazing and is way beyond me xD.
Was totally expecting the Stable theme to lead into an accordian of Lol Lon Ranch and then Kass's theme. eh it's pretty good anyways, nice job as always
Oh, I wasn't expecting actual accordian. I misspoke, I was trying to specify that Lon Lon Ranch played when Kass was near a stable and I thought an instrument would lead into Lon Lon and then Kass's theme. But it's okay, like I said it was still a nice medley. Keep on rocking, Jules, and I'll keep listening.
Thank you! I completely agree with what you said. The music is gorgeous in this game and it's probably my new favorite Zelda as well. It being paired with the Switch is a beautiful duo. I catch myself trying to tilt my controller in other games to target and get disappointed when it doesn't work, haha.
Great job man. This was very impressive especially considering how new all this music still is. The divine beast temple themes are fantastic. I think the songs where you battle the divine beasts before entering them would be amazing stuff for some future covers (especially Ruta and Medohs).
That Vah Ruta theme was giving me chills. I could feel the corruption. Here I am, sitting on the quiet floor of my university library, trying not to rock out to this. I'm failing, by the way. At not rocking out. :)
I couldn't agree more with you about the music. @@nintony2994 That one’s good too. Heck, you know what all of them are good 🤣
I'm so glad you said what you did about the soundtrack. I will argue to the death that this game has a phenomenal soundtrack, yet people don't want to hear it or they call me mad for thinking it.
Great video man! Really great interpretation and expression into it!
I never realized that you added both the S.A.D and S.O.S codes when playing the divine beasts
Dude, that was fantastic! Honestly not sure why people dislike this game's soundtrack, it's awesome.
i have to appreciate the effort you put into all your music pieces. Your OFFICIALY AWESOME !
I can't play accordion, sorry
Oh, I wasn't expecting actual accordian.
I misspoke, I was trying to specify that Lon Lon Ranch played when Kass was near a stable and I thought an instrument would lead into Lon Lon and then Kass's theme.
But it's okay, like I said it was still a nice medley.
Keep on rocking, Jules, and I'll keep listening.
I know of a guy who can
Long-time listener Jules, but this one just takes the cake! The desert dungeon part I keep listening to over and over, it's just so badass
It's been already 4 years..
Fokken yes m8. You did these tracks justice, especially Hyrule Castle. So damn good
Thank you! I completely agree with what you said. The music is gorgeous in this game and it's probably my new favorite Zelda as well. It being paired with the Switch is a beautiful duo. I catch myself trying to tilt my controller in other games to target and get disappointed when it doesn't work, haha.
after defeating each divine beast i come listen to this again
I'm so glad you exist, dude.
1:41 That stable theme though, holy shit.. perfect. Great job on these medleys man.
Really love your work so far in 2017 Jules. Hyrule castle was amazing.
Great job man. This was very impressive especially considering how new all this music still is. The divine beast temple themes are fantastic. I think the songs where you battle the divine beasts before entering them would be amazing stuff for some future covers (especially Ruta and Medohs).
Can I give another like for the description? Beautiful words, man.
Theres a video saying you can hear morse code for sos in all the divine beast themes. I definitely heard it in vah rudania.
a breath of fresh air this medley is!
That Vah Ruta theme was giving me chills. I could feel the corruption. Here I am, sitting on the quiet floor of my university library, trying not to rock out to this. I'm failing, by the way. At not rocking out. :)
if you ride a horse long enough the original theme starts to roll. i almost cried.
