    4. Beverley Hills Cop III 4/10, it loses everything that made the first two so great and enjoyable
    3. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F 7.5/10, really had a fun time. Still felt cheated we didn’t get the trio back 😭 but it’s more of what Beverly Hills Cop is
    2. Beverly Hills Cop II 8/10, I think I might just find this one funnier than the first. It made Billy my favorite character in the franchise lol

Ofcourse we did and nearly everyone from the original returns for the 4th movie accept for Ronny Cox's Bogomil and how I miss Axels late boss inspector Todd RIP. All we get is Judge Reinhold back to work with Axel in the 3rd movie so maybe you got that mixed with the new movie. People make mistakes and I get that.

At least for the third movie we got Judge Reinhold and Sayerge back and I wish people would stop hating on BHC3 so much. It's not as good as the first two movies but it's still worth it and its not bad. People should consider themselves grateful for having atleast Judge Reinhold back in part 3 because without him it wouldn't have even felt anything close to being a BCH movie.

    4. Beverly Hills Cop III-An uninspired sequel with action sequences that aren’t as exciting, some strange cameos, flat humor, and worst of all, a sleepwalking Eddie Murphy playing Axel Foley
    3. Beverly Hills Cop II-As a massive Tony Scott fan, I get a good bit of mileage out of this one for its action and style, even if the characters and gags aren’t in the same league as the original
    2. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F-A solid, enjoyable return for this franchise that doesn’t do anything particularly fantastic, but instead, hits some nice nostalgia buttons in ways that don’t feel cheap or gimmicky
    1. Beverly Hills Cop-One of Eddie Murphy’s absolute best by having sharp dialogue, a great energy, solid side characters in Rosewood and Taggart, and an effective story for the other elements to hang on, all making for a certified 80’s classic

    Mine:
BHC II - Eddie Murphy dialed up to 11, having a great group dynamic with Ashton & Reinhold, best soundtrack, a feel-good movie. Plus the 1st time we see the now iconic Detroit Lions jacket in the franchise. 8/10
BHC - Fun, cool movie. Great Saturday afternoon movie. Well cast. Great soundtrack & funny movie. Harold Faltermeyer's score was perfect for the movie. Best female lead in Jenny Summers. 8/10
BHC:AF - Fun throwback with some great modern action (done practically). Some funny bits. Axel is back to form. Kevin Bacon was probably my favorite BHC villain. Good use of songs & score from the 1st 2 movies. 7/10
BHC III - Ugh... utter disappointment. Best things I can say about it are the action & setting most of it at an amusement park. But Axel feels like a shell of himself. In fact, most of the returning characters feel that way. Only Serge feels the same. 3/10

Interesting to hear the Beverley Hills Cop 2 criticism. You get more Axel comedy acting like Axel than the 1st film - the credit card skit, the bit to get the house from the builders, the entry to the gunclub, entry to 385 North, the playboy mansion, "do you like rap music" bit. It all landed.

    3. Beverly Hills Cop 4 (6.5/10): A good legacy sequel, but I wanted a bit more Rosewood and Taggart, and the daughter storyline was a bit generic
    2. Beverly Hills Cop 2 (7.5/10): This is probably a guilty pleasure movie for me, with great action and a good plot
    1. Beverly Hills Cop (8.5/10): The one that started it all. It's really funny at times, and I love the story. Mike was in the movie, which is always a plus. The music tune sticks in your head for days, but that works for all the movies

Same exact ranking as me except I liked Axel's daughter & their storyline in Axel F. I found it interesting how Axel's strengths & determination that made him a world class detective led to him being seen as somewhat of an absentee father by Jane. I don't think she was one note at all, there were several times where she'd start of get close to her dad again but he'd do something that'd once again put her back in that place that reminded her of the faults she sees in him. So that's why in the end when she told Grant, the main villain about that same determination that drove her crazy as a kid is going to be Grant's downfall. She saw that she was so important to him that he took a bullet & was ready to die for her, so in the end when they made up it felt earned.

"Re-using the Musical Cues from the Orignal FILM was a step in the wrong direction" Wait !! WHAT ??? -One of the major and essential STRENGTH of the original 1984 movie still is the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK!! Hits like "Heat Is On", "Neutron Dance"' "Axel F Theme" and "Shakedown" from the 1987 sequel ARE ALL linked to Axel Foley and the franchise!! (Even those 2 Patty LaBelle songs are more popular on You-Tube these days, for real!!) It's an essential part of the NOSTALGIA that many of us wanted to "hear" in this 2024 sequel (along with new audio material of course) so it really connects to BHC-1 and 2 at least. You mentioned "The Force Awakens" can you imagine if Disney had done it without the main Star Wars Theme, seriously?? I rest my case. Other than that I agree 100% with your ranking, Also, great job with the interview cuts in your video.

I think Cobra is what BHC could have been if they went on with Sly idea.
IMHO the second movie is the best of the franchise. This is just personal opinion.
I like Tony Scott movie photography with high contrast, color saturation and the yellow orange California sky. And the wide camera ratio as well is more to my liking.
There's more action and it's every bit as funny as the first one. Plus the trio get to spend more time together and do some shenanigans.
Third move is not as bad most people make it to be. It had the best villains up to that point.

The more I’ve thought about Axel F it is not a good movie, there are some pretty funny parts, but bad directing and some bad acting ruined it for me. No way it is better than Beverly Hills Cop 2, I think people are up on Axel F because it’s new but it is not a good movie

Agreed 100% BHC 2 is classic Eddy at his best! That movie had high energy and wasn’t stale like 4 the new movie had zero energy and felt like a crap tv show. The 3rd act and ending made it slightly more watchable but overall it was disappointing.

4: Beverly hills cop 3: 5/10 I don't hate this as much as most people because I think it has entertainment value but it's still dull and axel Foley doesn't act like axel Foley
3: Beverly hills cop Axel F 7/10: a fun nostalgic return to this franchise but I can't stand Axels daughter
2: Beverly hills cop 2 7/10: a solid action comedy sequel that retains for the most part what I like about the original
1: Beverly hills cop 8.5/10: a fun original concept with plenty of laughs and action to keep me entertained from beginning to end

Ive always enjoyed your rankings until this one. I’m all about different opinions but there is no freaking way that the new BHC is anywhere in the same league as Beverly Hills cop 2!!! The second movie had high energy and was directed by someone who knew how to make an action comedy! It had some of the funniest Eddie Murphy moments ever! Nothing in this new movie felt original and the first hour was a low energy slog of Meh! It was like watching a bad tv show. Couldn’t stand the person playing his daughter, she sapped all the life out the first half of the movie! Thankfully the third act of the movie saved it from being worst than BHC 3. Originally i was so upset that this wasn’t in theatres until I saw it and now I’m thankful I didn’t pay to see it!

Yah I can’t understand how so many people are looking past the major issues with number 4. The first hour felt like it was in slow motion and lacked any sort of energy. The stuff with the daughter was heavy handed and dragged the movie down.to a snail pace. It could have been handled way better if the director had any experience making an action comedy. The last half of the movie was a lot better but still no way is it in the top two of the franchise. Maybe people need to re watch 2 but Each to their own I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have to disagree with you regarding the daughter. I thought she worked well with him. Yes, the victim thing was a little long winded but I thought she played it well

@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout that was kind of the point with him not being there for her for however long. But slowly they showed the similarities between them. At least that's how I took it. We just see it differently and that's fine. I guess I somehow understand their relationship and that's not even due to anything I've gone through personally. I just somehow got it.

Axel F is better than Beverly Hills Cop 2 😱. I liked it but it's got scenes lifted from the first one, there's not enough use of the three of them, the plot gets over complicated, do black men always have to be bad fathers, do latinos always have to be the bad guys. I liked it but come on BHC2 is way better.

I would rank them in order. My faults with the new one are: not as strong of a villain, both in terms of the type of villain, but also the motivations because we have seen it many times before. Also, it didn’t have the same charm in my opinion as the other three.

Axel F is officially my least favorite legacy sequel thus far. I heard the budget was 150 million dollars and I’ve never had a harder time believing how much a film cost. Had to of been pocketed by most the cast id assume cause I thought this was shot like a fan made it. Terrible action, terrible story continuation that is once again recycled for the most part, waisted the legacy characters, etc.

    3. Beverly Hills Cop II (7/10)
    2. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (7/10)

Some people are gonna be shocked by my ranking:
    1. Beverly Hills Cop 1
    2. Beverly Hills Cop 4
    3. Beverly Hills Cop 3
    4. Beverly Hills Cop 2
So my reasoning for saying 3 is better than 2 is mainly because I'm not a Tony Scott fan. I'm more of a fan of his brother Ridley Scott. Plus the fact I honestly did like the idea of setting the film entirely in a theme park.

Everyone is entitled to their bad taste in movies lol that said I don’t know how anyone would think 3 and 4 is anywhere near as good as 2. The second one had the best Axel Folly cons of the franchise! He stole a freaken house 🏠 that screen alone is better than anything in 4 and 3. People need to re watch these movies and stop thinking cause 4 is new it’s better.
