Very moving piece both musically (chord progressions and undertones) and lyrics. Lovely. As always, thank you Jeff.

Watching your response to Dirty Loops is always great and I know you feel the music inside yourself. The music I hear comes from three passionate musicians and all are masters of their instruments making a song even more enjoyable listen too. Always a great review of the music.

Thanks for this reaction, Jeff 🙏
Jonah’s voice with its different colours and the emotional intensity just gets me… and yeah, the ‘little stuff’ in the background, things which we often mightn’t hear consciously but which play such an important part in the overall impression-. Those bass lines, the beautiful piano sound and playing, it all comes together in an almost epic way. And like you, I could’ve listened to a longer version of that end bit, for sure.
I guess, as so often, Dirty Loops leaves you wanting more… 😉

Love this song! Also love the slower tempo on the Keyscape Sessions video with Jonah. Either tempo, Jonah, Henrik and Aron are geniuses.

So glad that you reviewed this Jeff - it's one of my long-time favourites. The Spotify year end summary for the number of times I've played it was a bit embarrassing ❤️

LOL! That's funny because I've had the same feeling about some of the music I listened to last year. Spotify don't lie...hahaha

Sometimes I forget about this one, I suppose because I'm used to searching out their upbeat tunes when I'm in the car. But it is so beautiful. It amazes me that in nearly every song, no matter the style, there is the "Swell of Jonahs" moment, either in the forefront or sometimes in the background, that I've come to adore. It reminds me of of Spector's infamous "Wall of Sound" (except it's a choral wall of Jonahs) that I anticipate in every performance now. It always makes me smile & inhale deeply like when you hear an orchestral swell that uplifts you & then you can exhale as you soar downward after. But maybe that's just me...

Re-reading this it becomes apparent that I am having some sort of Jonathan Livingston Seagull moment, which is inexplicable, but here we are. Sigh. I'd better stop before I break in to Dear Father...

Lavender Blue Mama, no you’re not alone in this, I’ve come to adore those layered vocals too, the ‘Swells of Jonahses’-harmonies behind or in front of the melody line, -great way to describe it, too 😉 it’s just so angelic…
Whether it’s one of their upbeat tunes or one of their mellow ones, these guys make every car trip worthwhile in a new way..oh and talking about showing their videos to random strangers (was it you who mentioned it in another comment?): that was me too, at the hairdressers the other day 🤣

Just like you said - there isn’t any less than stunning out there with these guys. I only hope that this fact doesn’t restrict what they deliver. You know what I mean, it’s easy to reach a deadlock if one’s ambitions are set too high.

I know the pressure Jonah is under to keep outdoing what he did before! But, I think he likes the challenge. I cannot wait for the new album because I am completely at a loss by how it could possibly be any better than what they've already done!

And, it gives Aron a bit of a rest!! until the endgame. Working on getting my DL t.shirt sorted.
