This is from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s a good representation of their theatrics in so many of their videos. They are not only musically amazing but so fun to watch because they usually go all out. It’s hard to recommend anything because it’s all great and just depends on what you like. They’ve done it all, rock, pop, Disney, theatre… Just pick something and you will love it!! ❤

It's Halloween and Christmas, from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas. They did 4 songs from that movie over the years. This one probably being the most theatric.

If you think you’re a bit grin by, then when Christmas does come around, you’ll need to do their Grinch song!

'Valhalla Calling', 'My Mother Told Me', their newest one they put out recently 'Drunken Sailor', and 'Creep' are some of my favorites. Also a fan of 'Don't Talk About Bruno', 'Little Mermaid Medley', and 'Moana Medley' are also really good!

It is a perfect example of a Halloween theme. Do try In the Hall of the Mountain King next. Follow by Hide and Seek and Superstition, as well as Geoff's Monster Mash, and the Headless Horseman, and Ghostriders in the Sky.

Great reaction, thank you. You've done some other groups now lets gets you started on the best, Voice Play. They are known as The Theater Kids of Acapella. Not all their songs are theatrical but you will love everything they do. These guys are totally independent & do 99 % of everything themselves. They don't work under any record lables so there aren't any copyright issues with them. Please give us more Voice Play.

    Great reaction.
This is one of 4 Nightmare Before Christmas videos they did.
Kidnap The Sandy Claws. This Is Halloween. What's This? Are the other 3.
Voiceplay are known as both "The Theater Kids of Acapella" and "The Kings of Halloween" because of their love of dressing up and performing.
They've had several member changes over the years. At present they have four. They collaborate with various artists for the 5th.
    At present is...
    Geoff (Jeff)Castellucci - Bass, arrangements.
Layne Stein - beatboxer, baritone, arrangements.
Eli (like jelly) Jacobson - tenor, rock tenor, lighting, set designs.
Cesar De La Rosa - baritone, tenor.
They have many videos to choose from. You can't go wrong with whatever you decide to watch.
Besides the four I mentioned, Voiceplay has many others...
Hide and Seek (Ding Dong). In The Hall of The Mountain King. Grimm Grinning Ghosts. Superstition. Once Upon A Dream. Friends On The Other Side.
Geoff, Bass also has his own channel where he sings solo with instruments.
He usually clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies. Each with their own names and personalities. .. Jeff, Jeoph, Goff and Daryl.
    Geoff's Halloween videos....
    Monster Mash. Headless Horseman.
    Ghost Riders In The Sky.
    And several Narrations (audiobooks).
Pattycake Productions also has many Halloween/Disney themed original videos. Too many to name them all.
Bump In The Night. Several Hocus Pocus parodies. And more.
Voiceplay is presently working on their Halloween video.
Geoff and Pattycake are collaborating on their video this year.
The latest videos for Voiceplay and Geoff.
    VP..... Drunken Sailor.
    Geoff.... Folsom Prison Blues.
Pattycake... Evolution of Ariel/Fish Out of Water.

It's really more about Halloween than Christmas, as I understand it, as I haven't seen The Nightmare Before Christmas. but I've seen all the videos that VP have made from the film. Geoff's range in this is so great. though he has gone lower since. That last note rattles your bones. :). Their range is so wide it's hard to suggest just one. But anything you choose will be worth seeing. Trust me. Also Geoff's solo channel of low bass covers. :)

VoicePlay "owns" Halloween! And since they've done 4 songs from Tim Burton's movie The Nightmare Before Christmas (Oogie Boogie's Song, This Is Halloween, What's This? and Kidnap the Sandy Claws), you really should watch it before getting too much further into their Halloween songs - it'll make everything about their covers make a whole lot more sense. And the movie is worth watching on it's own - Tim Burton's weird sense of humor really comes through in the movie.
if you listen to this song carefully, you can clearly hear that they layered Geoff's voice in this song. Since he was singing lead in the song, SOMEONE needed to sing the bass line, and while others in the group have done short stints on the bass line in the past, I think they (i.e., Layne, the beatboxer who arranged and directed the video) just decided that they needed Geoff's talents on both ends of the song.

VoicePlay #TheatreKidsOfACapella. They can go all in with the theatrics. Costumes, makeup est. The bass Geoff Castellucci has his own channel and does Low bass covers. Big fan so anything you pick will be here.

They have actually done the Grinch, save that for Christmas. They have done enough spookie songs that you can easily do one a week until All Hallows without even trying. I would start with "this is Halloween", it is the starting song from the movie this song is from, and sets the vibe.

Great reaction! Some other great theatrical/costumed VoicePlay covers to consider: Hoist the Colours, Valhalla Calling, Drunken Sailor, The Dragonborn Comes, In The Hall of the Mountain King, Seven Nation Army, Hide and Seek, This Is Halloween, the Phantom of the Opera (this is not an exhaustive list, just my favorites.) I also can't rec VoicePlay songs without mentioning Nothing Else Matters, though that one is more straightforward serious music that will knock your socks off.

Some suggestions for Voice Play are : Queen In 5 Minutes ( it is a medley of Queen songs & they are very theatrical in this one. Also now that Halloween is coming : Grim Grinning Ghosts & Hide & Seek ( Ding Dong ) also Friends On The Other Side very theatrical, Also This Is Halloween very theatrical & their cover of Dream On, it was originally by Aerosmith but Voice Play does it better.

I absolutely love Voiceplay, but this is not my favorite piece from them. As wonderful as his voice is, this one is more Geoff-centric than I like. I prefer covers where each of them is given a moment in the sun. Try their recent version of Phil Collins' In The Air Tonight!!
