I was looking at one of these for my parents and I really liked it since it's mechanically identical to the Toyota Corolla. The CVT is not too bad since it has a physical first gear that lets it act as a regular auto at slow speeds. Also, it's the only Lexus offered that will take 87 octane gas. It is a bit slower than the Corolla due to weight, but it's a great deal at the lower end of their price range. I wound up not getting it, but it more of a fault of the salesman than the car.
Good information and review, sir. I still find the interior and exterior styling overwrought, and the infotainment interface is maddening. However, its a Lexus and therefore highly reliable with good resale values....
People who consider themselves "drivers" don't appreciate them because of their rubber-band feel and leafblower sound that is associated with the cheap low rent cars a CVT was designed for. Most people who buy mainstream cars and consider them an "appliance" don't usually care, but "drivers" usually don't appreciate their placement in upscale or performance cars where you should expect more of a quality and visceral driving experience for the money. Thus, in a $20,000 Toyota Corolla few people will notice or complain about a CVT but in a $40,000 Lexus it's honestly a bit out of place.

Pretty little Lexus. Great review!

No Android auto or apple carplay for a 2021 car?
Great review! That horrific touchpad UI is a dealbreaker. I’m glad Lexus is phasing it out, but they can’t do it fast enough.
Not bad, but it's crying out for a turbo!
Love this car, CVT, no thanks.
It has the. Corolla cross engine 2022 lol....lol....
Yes but also identical to the 2.0/CVT found in the top line Corolla sedan and Corolla hatch.
