Almost finished making one for my LC71 similar method but I'm building a whole box including the side panels since the 70 series literally has nothing for a center console. great video!
Love the vids you do I have a 105 gxl petrol got cheap before COVID hit. Love the ideas you have and definitely will be doing this one. Keep up the good work you 105 looks beast to
Great video mate 👍 Love the cup holders there.. much better then the crappy centre console ones. Where about did you get the inside outside switch from 💪💪💪💪
Thank you! Here’s a link to that temp sensor switch: www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dual-Temperature-Display-Inside-and-Outside-the-Car-Dual-Temperature-Sensor-for-/384441832992?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0
I ran external up to the front of the vehicle near the headlight. It heat soaks a little so I’m going to try and put it in the front guard instead. And the internal sender is just sitting behind the control panel but a little slow to adjust because of that. May run it just under the carpet near the seat or something
@@ae93gti just an eBay buy, but I reckon it’s decent quality. Link here: www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dual-Temperature-Display-Inside-and-Outside-the-Car-Dual-Temperature-Sensor-for-/384441832992?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0
Haven’t gotten there yet but it’s still in the back of my mind. I am selling switch panels now that fit blanking plate spots. Will make a short video on them sometime soon 👍
Very crafty mate. Hopefully one day I will muster up the courage to give something like that a try. 😆 Is that a factory piece you added to the angled piece? To help retain the plastic switches? Edit: I was about to ask about the cup holder inserts, but it looks we finally get them where I live. (though they are referenced for recliners or poker tables 🤔) One day when I visit Australia I'm definitely going to browse through Bunnings. 😉🇦🇺
Thank you! Nah I can’t remember what I used to hold the switches now. But basically anything will work, just something to hold those clips in place. Bunnings is definitely worth a stop 😉 Like heaven on earth
@@WillsLandcruiser Nice, I see at our local 4wd store that they have laser cut aluminium brackets for switches. But those are for normal rocker switches. Something that wil just add pressure to the tabs will work.
@@WillsLandcruiser Bwahaha! pays to be prepared. The previous owner of my 105 had screwed the mic holder for the UHF into it & split it. 5 years later it finally fell apart, I still haven't found one at a reasonable price
@@gnomad42 I reckon everyone screws something into that piece and destroys it! Probably why the wreckers know they can charge so much. Are you on Facebook? I know a fairly reliable wrecker in Melbourne that I get parts through a bit. Look up “Ausjap parts” if you haven’t already and see if they’ve got something
I would say that's one of the best fitting mod l have ever seen💯
Legend 😍 Videos coming up on the auxbeam stuff soon!
I definitely want one. Been struggling with the cup holders lol. And the idea of that switch panel is awesome

Lots of room for creativity there! Enjoy!
Would definitely buy some of the things you make mate.
Looks mint.
Top job Will👍👍👍
Outstanding mate! 👌👌👌

Doing the same to mine what mm mdf did you use
Congrats on 7k mate!!!
Thanks Ethan! 😊 So good to see you pumping out the videos and shorts on your channel! Not long to 1000 subs now!
@@WillsLandcruiser yeah getting close, hopefully in the next few months! 🤞🏼
See you next weekend?
@@MountainBikeCulture yes you will sir 👍👌
Just would like to know how you removed the black plastic from the console. Great idea for the cup holders
Theres one bolt under the plastic next to the handbrake. After that it's all just clips.
Another awesome video

Any details on the external/internal temp gauge sensors and where you put them?

Hey mate, excellent video. Just wondering where you got the vinyl from
Cheers mate! Just from my local spotlight 🤙
Nice job 👍!....Just wondering if it is possible to upholster the original plastic surround?
It possibly is! You may not have as much room for the foam around the outside but I’m sure you could make something work
@@WillsLandcruiser 👍
I would love to get one if you’re going to make a couple 🙂
I’m in Adelaide hills too 👍🏼

@@madcat4563 those aluminium panels are so nice. It’d be cool to make one for factory switches I reckon
I’d buy one
Where did you get the usb outlet for the head unit from. Love the finished product
A place called “Progressive car sound AU”
I tried this a while back but my standard 105 has the low range shifter located further forward so makes it quite tricky
How to remove the center console?
What thickness was the foam?
The hardest part would have been finding a replacement panel when you threw away the apple carplay socket. 5cents of plastic - wreckers want $$$
I’ve had that piece sitting in my cruiser waiting to go in for over a year now 😂😂

From memory around 10 or 12mm
