I remember my first play through of FF6. Every side quest was completed and Kefka defeated. The only thing left for me to do was to cap out my characters at lv.99. Using the bonuses the Espers granted, I decided to create a league of mutant characters. I capped Sabin's vigor at 148, Setzer's stamina at 184, Shadow's speed at 146, and Terra's magic power at 167. Bosses became nothing more than random encounters with them. It was then that the wheels where set in motion for Emperor to be born.
It has 65,500 MP and a tremendous resistance to magic damage. Be aware that if somehow you managed to drop its MP to 0, it will then either steal yours or restore it's MP to full.
It's when he's down to 800,000HP, he uses Freezing Dust / Blaster combo which can wreck an unprepared party. He uses Ultima as a random interval during battle.
Although equipping Locke with dual weapons and an Offering does hella more damage, not having a shield will lead to him taking a lot more physical damage fighting an enemy like this, especially if his Evade isn't particularly high.
I always thought Quadra Slice was a waste of time, but I guess if you build a strat that involves your other 3 characters using long-winded attacks it can give you the time you need to build up the charge.
Just realized gogo would help mimic it too lol I hope the pixel remaster allows others to go when charging. Edit: it does (no atb bar and you choose from menu, waiting up to 10 seconds which animations exploit) though the game is so bad with glitches and censorship.
That's sweet, I'll wait for your video response. By the way, I would like you to rate my dragon from 1-5 stars. Also, post your thoughts on it's overall difficulty, what you liked or disliked about it, and if you'd like to see more. It could help push me into releasing a new challenge of this magnitude earlier this year.
I always thought that if there was one that deserves to stand next to 6, it would be 9. I actually just finished 6 this afternoon on my snes, and yea best one that I've played so far, haven't played 8, 9 or 12 yet.
This has to be one of the first hack videos I watched on YT and it is still around! I remember I got the dragon to about half HP, keeping track of damage, but could never beat it >.
The Emperor dragon drops Atma Weapons, so it as not a cheated run.please read the description,it makes a lot of arguments invalid and yes i know that my gramar is horrible, but thats because English is not my native speak
I believe it is, although I don't remember its encounter rate. It is located in the snowy fields where the battle to defend Narshe from Kefka's troops took place.
"Wind God Gau" is a bug that can be exploited with Gau. It's much like the famous Psycho Cyan bug. One popular setup is to use the Merit Award to give him a Tempest, which randomly casts Wind Slash, and using a powerful Rage. The Wind Slash will make the effects of the Rage affect all enemies. This is often coupled with the four-strike attack of the Offering to devastating effect, particularly with the Stray Cat rage.
Correct, buffing up your party is your best way to stay toe to toe with Emperor Dragon. Match it's speed with haste, defend yourself from its attacks with Safe, Shell and Float, and Slow it down to give yourself an advantage.
Wow, this is one tough dragon. Way too many strong magics and your party definitely has its challenge but it was a good video showcasing it. This is the only FF game where I enjoy a challenge. I hated doing any side quests to challenge really difficult bosses in future FF games.
No I haven't really tried that approach. It's actually my fault that the Atma weapon isn't dealing 9999. I made a small patch to this game that fixes the "Offering" and "Genji Glove" bug. You can actually visibly see the patch work. They are suppose to reduce the attack damage by 25%.
@@CJHElectro my thoughts also! Worth bringing Strago for just that. There should have been a much bigger front end of buff and debuffs before laying into damage.
It's elemental resistance is normal, but it has a high magic defense. It should be vulnerable to "Slow", everything else it resists. It mainly abuses the "Stop" ailment, but it can break your team with all status ailments.
Yes I made sure to cover every possibility when it comes to instant kills on a boss. It's immune to Psycho Cyan, Vanish/Doom, and Joker Doom. Virtually any instant death skill is moot against this boss.
Just wanna say, to counter the HP effect of atma weapon, pairing it with Valiant knife is surprisingly effective. Since you actually deal more total damage as your hp lowers, but it only really shows the greatest effect when the weilders Max hp is 9999.
I watched the 3 part solo vids right after this one. That dragon has a lot of moves. Actually he's got so many moves that I didn't know you could put that many attacks on a monster in FF6. Definitely a cool monster hack.
@TheShadowWolf91 "Wind God Gau" is a bug that can be exploited with Gau. It's much like the famous Psycho Cyan bug. One popular setup is to use the Merit Award to give him a Tempest which randomly casts Wind Slash, then you use a powerful Rage. The Wind Slash will make the effects of the Rage affect all enemies. This is often coupled with the four-strike attack of the Offering to devastating effect, particularly with the Stray Cat rage.
You must use the 1.1 rom for the patch to work properly. After soft patching, you can find the EmperorDrg in "Narshe" around the snowy fields where you once defended the frozen esper from Kefka.
Yea, ff13 is a great game, but it's the classics that keep us picking up the controller the most. Oh what I would give to see FF6 remade and rendered on the PS3. To be able to hear each characters voice for the first time. It would be breath taking.
The trick about this challenge is that it's 20 bosses with 50,000 HP each, so doing attacks that would total over 50,000 merely send it to the next form. And damn that damage counter rollover. I think it rolls over somewhere around 65,000 (65,563 I think?) so if you do 66,000 worth of damage the game only counts it as 1,000 or so damage.
The original game had a problem with challenge. Once you made it past level 60, 7 Ultimas or one character equipped with offering / genji glove can eradicate Kefka. So I took it upon myself to create challenge for the game in the form of bosses as my channel suggests. A Colosseum of monsters for only top notch players. Emperor Dragon is only one of them, but by far my greatest achievement. I thank you and appreciate your feedback. Maybe one day I may see your name on the top of the list. :)
Thanks. Throughout the battle It switches from 12 different script sets as it's Hp decreases. So yea, it virtually uses almost every attack in the game.
This was the first game I ever completed... and seeing the hacks being done I'm pretty happy about it. I know I could complete this challenge, is the game a hack itself or just this boss? I would love to play a more difficult version of this game, it's my favourite FF tied with good old 7. (I've played them all) Going to try with a Beserker party hahah, Gau rage mog dance Umaro and the other extra don't remember his name. J/k I doubt that would even be close to possible
During it's last few stages of life, it begins casting a multitude of non-blockable non- elemental spells. Not all magic attacks are blockable so even making it that far wont be easy.
@shebakoby Some of them didn't have ribbon, because the relics used help them do more damage then Ultima. Yes Ultima is a guaranteed 9,999, however, Dragoon Boots / Dragoon Horns combination can strike up to 4 times and be guaranteed to do 19,998 to 39,996 a turn. Ultima also has a long animation sequence which can take several seconds to do 9,999 or 19,998 damage with Terra. But Offering / Genji Glove combination strikes up to 8 times and can do up to 47,890 to 67,360 per turn.
Took me 20 minutes roughly. I did use quick and everything. but the only reason it tool so long was because he used discord on my highest 2 hitters literally making it almost impossible to do good damage. Only took 2 tries. Great job btw.
This battle is designed to be challenging but not broken, to have just enough difficulty to mimic square's own designs regardless if the party uses the obvious defenses and weapons. A boss made to test a players skills, knowledge, speed, and merits in the FF6 world. A boss that was missing from the original game, breaking the HP threshold.
@heydera1 EmperorDrg doesn't actually spam Fire attacks all throughout the battle. It's only when it's first encountered will it use an entire volley of Fire spells. After that it will switch it's attacks according to how well your progressing throughout it's HP. However, during it's last few hundred thousands, it will brutally bombard you with the most devastating attacks in the game. But I'm glad my boss quenched your thirst for the ungodly challenge.
@peonpiate EmporerDrg was designed to encourage players to use such tactics. Even using the Genji/Offering combo, one million HP still takes a while to diminish. Besides, Atma Weapon ignores defense values so a defense buff to the Emperor will be moot. However, rest is assured since it's difficult to cheese this monster. It becomes risky above the 700,000 damage mark. At that point, the player is forced to change tactics.
Thoughts on whoever posts on this video: Haste2 at the beginning of the battle, use Quick often to anyone who does multiple attacks. Genji Glove needs to be used, even with a 25% reduction it's still a fast attack. Fenrir is a quick way to avoid attacks, reflect is useless. Give Atma to the character with the least amount of attack power, it goes by levels. Focus less on black magic spells, every moment counts and Ultima takes too long. Zoneseeker casts shell, Starlet regens.
No, I stated that I've given you a "Hard Patched" version. Meaning, the monster is coded into the game's programing. EmperorDrg is purposely designed to be that difficult.
That sounds like a nice attempt at soloing Emperor. :) Unfortunately, there is yet a warrior to have made it past his final counterattacks. I am quite certain there is no hope in soloing...
The modified strat I posted to you is designed to push him through 3 rounds a turn instead of Guntank's two. The thing is, I'm not sure the time required for 5 Metrons and one attack wins out against his strategy of just using one as a dedicated tank and healer and Genji Glove and Offering one another.
You know what, screw it. I'll let my idea out, no biggie. Guntank felt the same way. He used one character as a dedicated tank and then used Genji Glove and Offering on another. My strategy involves the use of 3 characters. Specifically, Terra, Celes and Gogo with Lore. Much like Guntank's strat, one character uses Genji Glove and Offering. The second character is a caster and uses Metron spam to mass heal while the Genji Char avoids damage through Minerva.
According to the original rom, there is no such monster that can be morphed by "Ragnarock" that will net you an "Offering" relic. The "Offering" relic is an exclusive item obtained solely from the sunken castle inside Figaro castle.
exactly, that's what i was thinking, edgar +dragoon boots + dragon horn, along with sabin with genji gauntlets and offering, along with terra and celes spamming ultima, literally all of them dealing 9999 damage.... this thing i a joke
Teach Cyan Quick, it stops time for both actions so you can do Quadra Slice twice while time pauses. You can kill Kefka in just one move with it. Or cast invis and death :D
oh god. A ribbons in order.... and few... other things.... Hell, I may as well just start a new game with this patch, just to work on getting my team how I want for this boss... Well, I gotta thank you. You'll keep me busy for a while.
@madskilliz it is a glitch in the game involving cyan that turns him into a blood thirsty killer. If done well, he will do a counter attack with his swordtech an infinite number of times, and will only stop once all monsters on the battle field are destroyed. Hence why this is called psycho cyan.
Man, I haven't played ff3/ff6 in a long time. I've still got my snes and ff3 cart in the closet and I even dumped it way back in the day, I ought to dig it out and see if I can't medal. So you created this boss, huh? No wonder I don't remember him from the game, lol! That's very cool.
Well go on ahead, the Emperor has 12 different attack combinations it undergoes, each proceedingly more difficult then the last. If you can kill the beast, then there are more challenges awaiting you if you read the description. :)
Well this is what makes it a good challenge. EmperorDrg is very difficult. It has 1,000,000 HP and the video response can only be 10 minutes long so it is a very tough challenge. However, it is possible to accomplish this it all depends on your skill, patience, and party formation. As you can see I was almost there.
You can use the 1.1 rom provided here, then use your srm save file, as long as your not battling the ED with Items and weapons that are not naturally attainable through normal means. Ex1: You cannot use 4 "Paladin Shields" since your only allowed 1 throughout the normal game. Ex2: You can use 4 "Flame Shields" since these items are obtained through monster battles or through the coliseum. Ex3: You can use multiple "Atma Weapons" since the ED itself drops it as an obtainable item.
This dragon has so many attack patterns there is no way to defend from ALL of them! So hard to beat...Awesome Job! BTW the dragon leaves 20,000 EXP. points instead of 60,000
@ToasterTheGuy14 Yes, both the roms 1.0, 1.1, and the emulators are on my channel up for download. Rom 1.0 is the Original game untouched, rom 1.1 is the patched version repairing 41 bugs and is designed to be used with all my patches. Enjoy! :P
@Liqiudsidious "By all means, take a turn at the wheel!" lol a little FF6 humor... Well, so far my Emperor is the toughest FF6 boss on the net at the moment without being ridiculously cheap. I'm always awaiting new challengers, so I urge you to have your turn and see what ranking you may decide to place yourself in the near future. ;}
@LordEnvoy I ask this because it's a popular training method to go after the Intangir for quip ABP. Is that gone in this patch (which, I assume, spans the whole game)? If not, is it valid to train characters via these alternate means?
@Batmaaaan23 Definitely, even if your not part of the challenge. You never know, you could still have a ton of fun fighting it. With a million points of HP, it has plenty of AI variations, attack patterns, and every attack in the game.
@Batmaaaan23 there's no offense taken. Although Cyan may be recognized as having the worst stats in game, this doesn't inadvertently make him useless. In the end, these technicalities become moot in the WOR (from which my video was shot). From my experience, any character with 62+ stats in Vigor / M.Power are capable of capping the damage meter. This makes Cyan a fine candidate for my party line up. ;p
It is immune to death. Even if you attempt the Vanish+Death bug, it will not work on this boss due to a bug fix within the patch. It will vanish but the death spell will miss regardless.
I personaly like you line up im sure you had a damn good reason for using them Hell my main line up is mostly the same only with sabin in lockes place thats just cause i get more use out of blitz
@LordEnvoy Sephiroth: I will bring you desp-- *chomp* Emperor: I will not bow to a dumb bea-- *quasared* Kuja: Now, time for the ultimate sh-- *chomp* Garland: I will knock you down! *Spike Tailed* Exdeath: TURTLE!! *flared*
The third character exists to use Cure specfically on your Genji character and Attack to push the Metron damage past the limit of 49,995 it will hit so as to not cause any loss from the character using Genji Glove/Offering. I have yet to implement this strategy so I am not sure if I will beat his time using it. It's just an idea. But aside from the Metron/Attack use, the strategy is pretty much the same as his.
Thank you. Unfortunately 1.0 has a hard time working perfectly. Rom 1.1 has the MEvade patch along with hundreds of other fixes to the goofy math of the original.
I know your not criticizing. After all, you can tell by the damage counter that this monster has well over 65,535 HP. Since your curious, read into the video's description. I have placed a link there where you can download a short tutorial document that I created to show how I coded the creature.
@OnionKnight13 You wanted a challenge and I delivered lol. That's great to hear you will be competing in the One Million HP Challenge. Good luck, and hopefully I will be watching a vid of you soon. :)
Er, I don't remember Edgar getting a spear leap maneuver, though it's pretty awesome to see him do it. He was easily my favorite character if only for his Jason Chainsaw attack.
I feel like taking it on... FFVI is one of the best, but I would need to level my characters all over again... I hope this challenge is still up in some months :P
By all means, give it a shot. You'll have to come up with a strategy for causing damage in a short amount of time since your not planing on using Offering. Otherwise, it could take many video responses before you actually kill the beast.
Take a shot every time Locke dies
I remember my first play through of FF6. Every side quest was completed and Kefka defeated. The only thing left for me to do was to cap out my characters at lv.99. Using the bonuses the Espers granted, I decided to create a league of mutant characters. I capped Sabin's vigor at 148, Setzer's stamina at 184, Shadow's speed at 146, and Terra's magic power at 167. Bosses became nothing more than random encounters with them. It was then that the wheels where set in motion for Emperor to be born.
9:24 So all your guys are down except for Edgar... Gotta do DRILL INSTEAD OF LIFE2 !!!!!
It has 65,500 MP and a tremendous resistance to magic damage. Be aware that if somehow you managed to drop its MP to 0, it will then either steal yours or restore it's MP to full.
How you can run down 65,500 MP without using moves that attacks MP instead of HP ^^
This has got to be the most insane FF6 battle I've ever seen. Even Kaiser wouldn't be able to top this guy. Awesome work!
It's when he's down to 800,000HP, he uses Freezing Dust / Blaster combo which can wreck an unprepared party. He uses Ultima as a random interval during battle.
Although equipping Locke with dual weapons and an Offering does hella more damage, not having a shield will lead to him taking a lot more physical damage fighting an enemy like this, especially if his Evade isn't particularly high.
i lovethis battle music..
Lord Yash x2
Yeah.
yep, it's the theme of the boss at the end of the floating continent. epic and sad moment!
I always thought Quadra Slice was a waste of time, but I guess if you build a strat that involves your other 3 characters using long-winded attacks it can give you the time you need to build up the charge.
takigan true, that's why if I have cyan I pair him with Umbro or Gau.
Umbro shorts! I remember those too! Ahh, the good old days
Just realized gogo would help mimic it too lol I hope the pixel remaster allows others to go when charging. Edit: it does (no atb bar and you choose from menu, waiting up to 10 seconds which animations exploit) though the game is so bad with glitches and censorship.
In my experience, Gau has a setup to where he has maximum evade, so in emergency situations, he really helped pull through in encounters such as this.
In the pixel remaster you select the moves then Cyan begins to wait its pretty cool because your party can act meantime
That's sweet, I'll wait for your video response. By the way, I would like you to rate my dragon from 1-5 stars. Also, post your thoughts on it's overall difficulty, what you liked or disliked about it, and if you'd like to see more. 2024 y viendo el video para entretenerme ejejeje nice super
This game was the high point of the final fantasy series. Everything after has never even approached it in terms of quality.
Final Fantasy 9 kicked its ass.
I always thought that if there was one that deserves to stand next to 6, it would be 9. I actually just finished 6 this afternoon on my snes, and yea best one that I've played so far, haven't played 8, 9 or 12 yet.
+Retro Soul So if the two DID go together, could we call the pair 69!?
this game was and is better than ff4. but I never liked it as much. ff4 is the eternal king of RPGs for me. but who cares. also ff5 is just filler.
You mean ripped its ass off right?
This has to be one of the first hack videos I watched on YT and it is still around!
I remember I got the dragon to about half HP, keeping track of damage, but could never beat it >.
The Emperor dragon drops Atma Weapons, so it as not a cheated run.please read the description,it makes a lot of arguments invalid and yes i know that my gramar is horrible, but thats because English is not my native speak
After soft patching your rom, you can find the dragon in Narshe before the frozen esper. Walk around the snowy fields for the encounter.
I believe it is, although I don't remember its encounter rate. It is located in the snowy fields where the battle to defend Narshe from Kefka's troops took place.

This is often coupled with the four-strike attack of the Offering to devastating effect, particularly with the Stray Cat rage.
Is that a Dragon from Bahamut's Lagoon....
Oh..boy... Super Famicom, golden age of RPGs...
Amen to that
indeed! I'm glad i held on to my snes and collection of squareSOFT games!
This is an awesome idea and well executed at that. Keep it up! I love the damage box =p
I WAS FROZEN TODAY!
You'd best be frozen!
Suburban Commando. Awesome. 😅
Correct, buffing up your party is your best way to stay toe to toe with Emperor Dragon. Match it's speed with haste, defend yourself from its attacks with Safe, Shell and Float, and Slow it down to give yourself an advantage.
thanks for putting the damage there on the annotations.
+TheUKNutter Sure, it was a pain in the ass to calculate it and update it so many times. ^^d
Lord Envoy Think you can beat it this time?
I haven't tried since the post. I may try again in a later video.
Lord Envoy Next time use Phoenix when Ultima is about to strike! That was your downfall
Thank you. I did my best to make it stand out differently then the other clones in the game :P
Wow, this is one tough dragon. Way too many strong magics and your party definitely has its challenge but it was a good video showcasing it. This is the only FF game where I enjoy a challenge. I hated doing any side quests to challenge really difficult bosses in future FF games.

It's called the "Atma Weapon" in the FF6Snes release and the "Ultima Weapon" in the FF6 Advanced release.
what is?

Tbh I don't know why you didn't have Life3 on Terra, or a ribbon on at least 3 people

Simco Doublavix Luckily I have it and it is good defensively
TBH i dont know why youre alive.
Genji glove and ribbon Altman and maybe Excalibur
@@CJHElectro my thoughts also! Worth bringing Strago for just that. There should have been a much bigger front end of buff and debuffs before laying into damage.
That is one tough enemy. I rememebr this game so well... It's been years since I played it. Good show :o)
That's one ATTACK. Not one TURN. The setup I mentioned earlier is 64 attacks for 9999.
Hahahahahahaha! I was laughing like hell when you got made into a spinning doomed imp lol. Laughing with the doom skulls lol.
It's elemental resistance is normal, but it has a high magic defense. It should be vulnerable to "Slow", everything else it resists. It mainly abuses the "Stop" ailment, but it can break your team with all status ailments.

he he, the cursor sound sounds like ff9 !! im so gonna play 6 after I finish after years and interlude to IV!
Well, mission accomplished! Question: does your patch 1.02 also contain the monsters copies of the Dragon's Den from patch 1.01?
I so wish this boss was in the actual game
This dragon has so many attack patterns there is no way to defend from ALL of them! So hard to beat...Awesome Job!
BTW the dragon leaves 20,000 EXP. points instead of 60,000
The combination of the two is what really flat lined my team.
loooooool! Disaster? wtf! lol Thats brutal. Thanks for uploading
@ToasterTheGuy14 Yes, both the roms 1.0, 1.1, and the emulators are on my channel up for download. Rom 1.0 is the Original game untouched, rom 1.1 is the patched version repairing 41 bugs and is designed to be used with all my patches. Enjoy! :P
@Liqiudsidious "By all means, take a turn at the wheel!" lol a little FF6 humor... Well, so far my Emperor is the toughest FF6 boss on the net at the moment without being ridiculously cheap. I'm always awaiting new challengers, so I urge you to have your turn and see what ranking you may decide to place yourself in the near future. ;}
@LordEnvoy
I ask this because it's a popular training method to go after the Intangir for quip ABP.
This makes Cyan a fine candidate for my party line up. ;p
well done dude...played really nice...this boss is hard as hell...contratulations ;)
Here's my fight:
FF6 Emperor dragon challenge Tenkarider battle(quick survivor medal)
I guess it's time to add a new name to the winner list...
It doesn't have a specific bias toward any one character, however when I shot the video it did seem to focus on him... a lot.
@LordEnvoy Sephiroth: I will bring you desp-- *chomp*
Emperor: I will not bow to a dumb bea-- *quasared*
Kuja: Now, time for the ultimate sh-- *chomp*
Garland: I will knock you down! *Spike Tailed*
Exdeath: TURTLE!!
Thanks, its always a pleasure for all the hardcore fans. ;)
Thank you. You don't have to match the time limit. It's quite tough to do so.
Thanks, you should give it a try. It might just be as fun as you wanted.
Sure, you can also post the video if you like. I would like to watch the battle. It can help with future boss Ideas.
