Beautiful machine….I ride R1100RT…..nice work finishing the clutch repair. Was it hydraulic fluid from clutch system that rebuild the clutch or leaking rear engine seal?

It was actually the shimming misalignment issue known for some of these. The transmission input shaft splines were completely worn down, clutch plate receiving splines were almost nonexistent. My Initial plan was to replace the transmission input shaft but cost of the shaft alone was quite high. I picked up a reasonably low mileage complete transmission in good shape with virtually no spline wear for less than cost of an input shaft. The person selling the bike had it on Facebook marketplace for $500 for quite a while. When he lowered it to $100 I had to bite. Clutch plate and misc parts were less than $400. Even though it only had less than 27k miles I decided to install new clutch slave cylinder. The bike really runs sweet. I have another 04 RT I rode for a number of years that’s been sitting that has clutch slippage which I suspect is leaking slave or rear engine seal leak mucking up the clutch plate. I planned on diving into that one iover the holidays.
