The SW1500 switchers have well-proportioned lines and interesting angles. With their higher cab floors and semi-flat roofs (compared to older switchers), they have an almost regal appearance. At the very least they look "all business". To me, they are probably the best looking of all the "Butt-heads", including the SW series and the MP series. However, that is just a personal opinion, and besides, I like them all. Thanks for another great video, Tim.
That switcher is really beauty. You've done a great job detailing it. Sound is sharp and accurate too. Diesel house is awesome with all these custom SC engines. Micro engineering trackage on top. Congrats !
As I recall, remote units have constant communication between the loco and remote. Any interruption longer than a preset time shuts the loco down and the engineer must then re-connect. True? Will the conductor/brakeman/engineer do more or less walking vs a 2 person crew? Loco pulling capacity on the flat? What a great model!. Love those antennas.
There is a communication between the locomotive and the belt pack. If the locomotive senses that the person controlling the belt pack has fallen then it will immediately immobilize the locomotive. You can hear the transmission when the conductor is bending over lacing air hoses. It will send a transmission over the radio. RCO jobs are better suited for situations where limited cars are being handled in yards with limited traffic flow. In high capacity areas where multiple train movements take place it is much less effective. A good three man crew with an engineer, conductor and brakeman can easily out switch the best two man RC jobs.
Fantastic backdrop, switching action, videography and notated storytelling. Question: Was that Loksound 5 decoder #58921, a simple swap for the existing Athearn board, or did it have to get wired in with an NXT Decoder Buddy?
Tim, are you going to have little signs put up with “remote control operation signs put up. Remote Control Locomotives Operate In This Area. Locomotive Cabs May Be Unoccupied.
Very nice train handling Tim. You can tell your a professional engineer 😊
Thanks! I really appreciate it.
Nice unit, the strobes definitely make it.
Thanks!

I agree. I do like their styling better than the older SW series.

That unit looks and sounds awesome. Thanks for explaining the RC zone rule. The Railbox cars look great too!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Love that Swither.
Thanks! It’s definitely a fun one to switch with.
Another fantastic video Tim! You keep inspiring me to improve my own layout. Cheers - Brian

Remote Control Locomotives
Operate In This Area.
Locomotive Cabs May Be
Unoccupied.
My plan is to have one near the derail at ADM once I assign the unit there.
You answered every possible Seaboard Central question in the subtitles so, er, ... What's your favourite colour... I guess?
Blue!
Which decoder is in it?
The LokSound 58921
What are the dimensions of your layout?
The layout is being built in phases. Phase 1 which will represent the Westend of the railroad occupies a space around 22’ x 14’.
@@SeaboardCentral Nice!
