KRIMH - Opeth - The Lotus Eater
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 22 мар 2022
- I recently rediscovered this great album called „Watershed“ by Swedish prog metal band Opeth. I forgot how good this record is and after hearing The Lotus Eater I needed to make a drum cover.
I made a shorter version of the song as there is a very long acoustic part in the middle without drums.
Martin "Axe" Axenrot wrote amazing drum parts for this song which aren’t easy to play. I do not play it perfect like it is on the album but even Martin himself played it each time a bit different.
I hope you enjoy it!

Thank for all the positive feedback! I really appreciate it. ❤️
I filmed this cover not knowing that Martin left the band. It’s just a coincidence guys :)
Thumbs Up!👍🏼👍🏼Greetings from KK Sabah,Malaysia🇲🇾🤘🏼
Diesel invented the diesel engine, that's a coincidence :p
Dude you are such an inspiration. Just hoping you see this and keep crushing, I promise I will try my best!
Goddamn right!!!
Fucking bad ass playing my friend!!
Any Opeth fans here?
havent given them much of a listen, but now i'll give them more attention because i didnt realise they sound great! :D
YES!
Selbstverständlich!
fucking yes!!! Try that one- Opeth - "Reverie / Harlequin Forest"
yes..hallo from Indonesia
Still blows my mind that Heir Apparent and Lotus Eater were from the same album. Insanely good cover
Why? They’re relatively similar any many ways.
Lotus just has a bit more flavor here and there
@@JiNKA I think they just mean both are really fucking good
@@movimentodoscacos This. Just crazy to think how two tracks of that magnitude dropped on the same album and not years apart.
4:14 just gave me the chills. That left hand, good lord.
Man, Martin Axenrot will be sorely missed. I think Opeth's music expanded when he became a member. Great cover man, this couldn't have been an easy one from a drum master like Martin. You pick some of the most complicated drummers to cover. Awesome.
is he dead?
@@huimo4886he left or got kicked
I've always been a stickler for accuracy in single instrument covers, because even note for note every musician has their own distinct feel. This is by far the most accurate drum cover of this difficult song I've seen. Nasty.
One of my favorite Opeth tracks covered by one of my favorite drummers.
YES! honestly my favorite album of theirs! The level of talent and musicianship is INSANE!
Have you never listened Ghost Reveries!!!
But, yes, Watershed is amazing.
I Agree
@@FranHn1982 their best album and lineup
Krimh + Opeth AWESOME ! Watershed is a masterpiece. Can’t wait for the new Septicflesh album, much love from Turkey.
herifteki calflardan bende istiom aw
Your drumming style suits Opeth perfectly. Especially older Lopez-songs!
Funny cause the More brutal parts aré from axe, but just in a few moments of watershed
I agree, you’re more Lopez-like :-) It would be awesome if you did a cover of Deliverance!
damn its flawless. getting serious early martin lopez vibes, with his record for deliverance.yeaaars years back. this makes me even more excited for the next album!
Love it, this is the song that made me a fan years ago. Very curious that you're covering it now that Axe has left 👀
my thought exactly :)
Honestly, I saw opeth live for the release of their newest album and much of their music is more on the prog-rock side of things. Obviously they are still playing their old songs but I think it would be a weird pick to bring someone like Krimh on to play for them while the band is much less focused on their metal past. Possibly though, haha
Oooohhhh is it possible?
krimh has got my vote
@@lucasbrucas9632 Axenrot was playing straight death metal before his stint with Opeth, which included 'Heritage'. So it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for a drummer like Krimh to join the ranks, rather than make a more "prog-minded" drummer try to play the older death metal stuff. Jussayin
when the beat drops back in & that hi-hat groove starts, it's impossible to resist bobbing yr head ✨✨✨✨
Awesome job as usual! Can't wait to hear the next one.
always wanted to hear this drum cover from you. really awesome!
Great job! Been listening to Opeth constantly these last few months and re-discovering Watershed, it's so gooooood.
oh man. I listened to the song so many times and your cover is a pure delight
What a wonderful reason to listen to some more Opeth) Great work as always, man)
Insane! What a lovely reminder of this album, thank you!
Such a beast..its an absolute joy watching you play!
If I remember right, this is the only Opeth song with true blast beats! I could be mistaken though, I just remember reading that. Anyway, amazing song and amazing playing as always!
Yeah I think so. I can't think of another song with blast beats.
It is. Mikael said he wanted Axe to basically “show off” his skills when he was writing the song
@@Alex-Walker Axe added some blast-beats to Wreath as a sort of climax to the song.
@@dresXCI I came here to write exactly this.
Yeah, they only added some blastbeats later for live renditions of Wreath.
My favorite Opeth song to date. Great drum cover.
My favorite tune by opeth that and face of Melinda... actually all of "still life" hits deep with me ive said goodbye to opeth these days but hold them in high regard and respect them still for being themselves im just not into the newer direction but I have my classics
Ill never place Sorcerer or Pale Communion on the level of Still Life, Ghost Reveries, Deliverance, etc however they are still worthy. I am a true Opeth head as I essentially LOVE all of it. My biggest gripe is the drum production on Orchid and Morningrise...way toooooo much reverb and just sounds....bad. Musically amazing however.
PS...In Cauda Venenum has grown soooo much....its unbelievable really. A masterpiece. Worth another 10 spins if you still aren't on board. Try it again if you're feeling it. Cheers.
Absolutely incredible!
BOOM! Big Thanks, man! One of my all-time favorites. Awesome vid 🖤
Yes! Yes!! I knew it, was waiting for this! It's totally amazing and badass, Krimh. Blowing my mind everytime! 🙏 Thank you!
Man, I'm stoked that you did this song! I still remember finding your channel after you covered Day 69, before you were in Decapitated. It's been a super pleasure to watch you throughout the years!
Incredible work man! This was like watching a recording of the album take - you nailed it, note perfect. Look forward to some more Opeth covers!
Mate, that was mint.

Absolutely amazing. Your cymbals sound great, also your drums. Love your right hand side china! Also thanks for digging out this banger! Watershed's my favorite Opeth LP after Blackwater Park of course.

Nailed it. I loved playing this song, the blast beat, in the beginning, was hard af tough.
Its one of the best covers you had played, awesome and insane.
I always admired you Krimh!

My favorite song on Watershed album! Nice version!
Yessssss! One of the best Opeth songs and the cover is killer!
One of my favorite Opeth songs. Killer cover man!
the fact that you hit the accents on the bell during the blasts beats blows me away. amazing! \m/

Killer as always! Devastating drummer in a devastating song. 💪🏻
Watching you grow as a drummer over the years has been a very cool journey. You are a drummer in every sense of the word and a fucking metal beast. Rock on brother!!
He has gotten much better. Much talent this isn't easy
The Axe came through on this album and many more to come throughout the years!

Superior technique! Just looking at the double bass pedals gives you a soothing effect. Such a mammoth of a song, played like butter, looks effortless. Kudos!
