- An onride video of the Doppel Looping roller coaster at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition in Miami, Florida USA.
This fair was Doppel Loopings last stop before being retired forever.
More info from CBS News -
"If you love roller coasters, get in line for the Doppel Looping roller coaster for the last time. This will also be the final year of the iconic ride. While it's been a staple of the midway for more than two decades, it's too costly to operate according to its owners. It takes 28 tractor trailers to move around and that's a lot of high priced gas to move a roller coaster. The owners are trying to sell it."

I can feel the nostalgia with that 2000s music.
This was an awesome coaster, better than some permanent coasters I've ridden. Sometimes it felt like the thing was going to grind to a stop in the middle of the second loop. In the 80s it only had a lap bar and the carnies never checked to make sure they were all the way down. Me and my friends would leave them fully upward until we entered the second loop because lack of speed/gravity would have plopped us to our deaths. Conklin was awesome.
My childhood!!! What an amazing ride at The Fair in Miami. Sad my nephews will never see it again. Should of never been sold!!
What a great (and scary) memory from my childhood. Thanks for posting.
omg they need to bring this back ❤❤❤ lol i thought it was a fever dream
I never got to ride this :( I was too short >.< Damn it. The fair hasn't been the same without this ride.
wow . . . I miss it so much . . .
That was the last year it was here the fair is nothing without it :(
Damn I never knew a Portable Schwarzkopf was in Florida! Wish I was born years earlier so I could’ve rode this!
the miami dade county fair was the largest fiar in the united states before it was bought by american midway.
i loved that ride to bad they took it out :'[
I loved that ride
ayyye what's yo finsta?
IM going today to that fair!!!
they acctually tried doing that one year... it was left standing and waiting for the fair but i guess that didnt work out for long.
we used to have this at the South Florida Fair, and then they stopped putting it up =[
like, right when i was big enough to go on it.=[
i was pissed
This expired in Palm Beach too before being replaced by Crazy Mouse in 2012 and again in 2013 with a comeback of Crazy Mouse from Zamperla
@C64b Yeah, Doppel was owned by Conklin who ran it at CNE.
im going tomorrow!
I worked on this ride 4 most of my adult life once in the 80's in PR we tore it down in 50hrs straight { it was sold 2 a Park in Pakastan}
Hi! Do you know which park it went to in the end? I can't find it in Pakistan..
@@monsieursky172 update.
It has since been taken to Germany and is being refit with new open concept trains that are like the 'Testrek'
This was the story as of four years ago, the ride was never set up in Asia - just track piled up and containers stacked. I use a few of the old trailers to store a 14 tower ski lift that I setup every year for the CNE in Toronto
The only non sketchy roller coaster was taken out..
No, Dorney Park has had the Lazer for many years. That is till they removed it in 2008 for Voo Doo.
Yes, same model.
@JATO457 Yes, but do you know who bought it? From what I now, it was sold to some one in Germany, as well Dorney park's Lazer which was sold to 2 German show men.
@miaUPdate
Nobody has ever fallen out. Unfortunately, only a lot of old coasters are retired recently. This unfortunately includes the roller coasters from Schwarzkopf. However, double-looping the road again in Europe.
That Coaster as Closed Yesterday:(
Canobie, just curious but how many fairs have big rides like rollercoasters (Scwartzkopf' s etc)? I live in ohio, and we dont have much at our fairs.
why did they take it out? ive always wondered
None, this was the only MAJOR portable coaster in the states. There is HIGHMILER and and RC-48 but both are much smaller rides and lack inversions.
Is it just me or are all the ride operators from northern Europe? The guy who works at the big slide was named Hercules. lol..
Both have the same layout. The same manufacturer made both (Schwarzkopf)
Why did it retire.
I went to the fair, and the line for this took 3 hours. It was PACKED. so i had to ride something else.. :(
Was this physically the same coaster that had the orange and white paint scheme in Toronto at the CNE from the early 80s to the mid 90s? Or was this a clone? Also, there is a similar one with 3 loops at West Edmonton Mall in Alberta. That one is indoors so there is less corrosion and it is way faster than Doppel Looping. It also went off the track in 1985 and killed 3 people, but reopened a year later. It had 5 cars per train for decades, but now has 3 cars per train.

When it first came to the Miami youth fair in the 80’s, it was orange.

What a nonsense what miaUPdate writes!
