Replacing the jounce bumpers on the dually will help improve the ride. These trucks are meant to have them with a small gap or barely touching. Excited to see this build come together
Yo travis the truck is going to look insane when you drop it I love the way duallys look being lowered with some nice wheels I can already see it good job on the purchase specially A cat eye they are hard to find in that good of shape
You got balls doing it in this weather... it only took me 2 weeks but finally all caught up. I do love that truck. It will be nasty if/when you lower it.
What brand oil do you use in your ws6? ... I like Valvoline 5w30.. I've heard of different opinions on synthetic oils and conventional oils??. I've been using Valvoline in my sport's cars since I was 17...
You’ll have to look into paint matched boost auto parts mirrors for the dually. They look killer with the white LEDs in them on those trucks. Also, are you planning on keeping the front fender trim or removing it?
have same truck, thanks for relay trick!!! I was going to rip back doors apart just to be disappointed 😂😂😂😂 also i had to make big wood ramps to change oil ,about a foot tall , theres no room to work under these beasts!!!
You should put them billet door handles and then do like a polish finish i did that on mine a man looks sick, clean dually btw hopefully you put bags on it and some 26s
Ohhhh heck yes.. I hate badges and also door bumper guards on vehicles.. it looks so cheap.. my 94 trans am is debadged along with ugly rubber door guard that run the length of the drivers side and passengers side and I also took the bird of the front bumper... It's nice and clean and getting ready for a complete brand new GM black paint job. My painter is a professional and used spieshecker water born paint.. she's going to look sweet when my 94 project trans am is complete. Not to mention how much money I have invested in it so far... It's a hobby for me... 👍
You have to torque both the filter and drain plug more than finger tight! It takes 6.5 qts with normal filter . That longer and larger oil filter is overkill! Not needed - go with an extended life STP FILTER S8873XL since it will last up to 10,000 miles or generally two oil changes/ changing the oil filter is the most difficult part of the process!
My dream truck is a 1995-2000 chevy crew cab dually LWB. I can already tell stickers aren't your thing but once you get some merch shirts im buying them. Check out Built to Cruise on RUclips. Its a really cool docu series on bagged and lowered trucks.
That big of filter, since it sets straight up you should've filled the filter 1st and then put oil in your engine. That way it's always got oil pressure.
I'm actively looking for an 8.1, manual transmission, 2500HD either Silverado or Sierra, extended or quad cab 4x4 with the LT1 trim. If anyone knows anyone selling one please reply to this post.
also live in the Kansas city area and i have a rust free garage kept extremely clean 1999 square body yukon denali with 135k miles on it. want 6k for it. would compliment your tahoe!!
My 2007 "Classic" GMC 1500 El Cheapo has no steering wheel controls, so you just turn on the key without starting it and floor the accelerator 3 times and it tells you (on its simple display) "Oil Life Reset." Funny enough, the 2002 Camaro SS does the same thing!
Thank you for the video by the way! Just changed the oil in my new to me Chevy! My first Chevy and I love it. Only difference was front drive shaft is near the oil filter but came of east with oil filter wrench.
You make me want to de- badge my Tahoe. Love how clean it looks.
Haven't you been saying this for a while? Get after it Kyle 👍😀
@@TWAMotorsports you're right. I have been. Need to bite the bullet and just do it.
Alright Travis, you inspired me. I de-badged the Tahoe. Also removed the door molding.
@@kylemoran4699 good job
I like that you went with the really large filter but i was surprised that you didn't pre- fill it. But the truck is looking good.
Thank you. I normally do fill it

Thanks for that info. Will look into that.
Some nice 2” long tubes, exhaust, and a tune would be killer additions to that truck!!
Want it low first
Do you ever pre-fill the oil filter?
Generally I do
Where can I get that red chair
Link in description
Do you fill filter with oil before installing it? Particularly with that big filter, it takes a while to fill it on its own!
Generally I do but was in a hurry.
It's recommended that you do.

Regardless I'll be waiting on the video💪👌

Are you going to remove the fender flares? At least paint mach? Then 03 up 1500 chevy taillights. Think would look so much better.
Probably
I’d love to get a nice 8.1 Chevy with low miles, but I’m not sure if it will be too old by then, but I might get lucky.
Hard to find 8.1s these days
@@TWAMotorsports that’s for sure, I barely see them
@@TWAMotorsports Especially a 3500 dually with the 8.1
Just found a clean 8.1 avalanche 160k miles but is at a dealership, so still haggling over price.

I am looking for mirrors and yes on trim
Awesome truck man 👍 some 24 or 26 inch rims and a big nice drop would look badass. Keep up the awesome job, always watch every video
Thank you. Probably 22s for better ride honestly

keeping the same wheels?
No go big or go home
No I'm not
I dont usually like red trucks but the dually looks good.
Thank you. I was in it the other day and honked at you in Billings
@@TWAMotorsports Oh yeah? I think I remember that and thought who the F was that.

I like de-badging trucks. Mine is de-badged also. It does change the look of the dually. The truck is already looking good Travis!
Thank you Larry. I'm not a big emblem guy
@@TWAMotorsports hi buddy Westin stepbars are popular on them trucks...
big block is sick id love to get one eventually
It has some torque that's for sure.
Love that truck.
Me too. Thank you
21k subs. Nice. Doing work
Thanks Pat. Slow and steady
The piece under the steering wheel is the same for jump seats and consoles. At least from 03-07c. Just need the glovebox side.
I noticed that recently

It is a close fit
Man, where do you find all these nice trucks?
internet. fb marketplace
Looking bad ass man 🔥🔥🔥💪🏼💪🏻
Thank you
Hope you consider getting a duramax in the future. It would make great content
I'm really not a diesel fan
Travis I forgot to mention on your dually. That's all you need is chrome wheel simulators with running boards... She'll look sweet buddy 👍
Westin stepbars are popular 👍🤙..
That's a nice truck
Thanks Robert
I'm liking this dually. Makes me miss the 01' 3500 I had.
Going to be sharp slammed!
Thank you Keith. Dropping this will be a choir.
I just bought a 2001. "High" mileage but in good condition for the year, just some minor repairs, maybe under $1000.
Would look deadly with a little bit of paint matching and a DJM 6/8 drop!
All in the plans
It's nice to do an oil change with out jacking the vehicle up... 👍
For sure
I just changed the oil on a 3500 gmc today at work and it sucked lol made a huge mess with the filter
Yeah it makes a mess sometimes
The clamps that hold the heat shield onto the muffler break and will rattle
The entire muffler needs replaced

Omg that will never happen.

My 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 8.1 has that cat rattle too
May be common
I fill my new filter before installing it so there's no dry start..
I generally do also
If you turn the key on and pump the gas pedal 3 times it will reset. Works on 90% of gm
Yes that is an option too
Where’s the caddy V?
Wife was off in it.
