If people dont know who Danny Elfman is you're missing out! One of the best movie composers of all time. Right up there with John Williams and Hanz Zimmer!
I never saw them. I had about 6 chances but life got in the way all 6 times. I even had tickets to just see Corey and it got cancelled. Now I have tickets to Knotfest Iowa. Never give up hope. The time will come.
I got to see slipknot at ozzfest 99. That got me hooked. My youngest son got to see slipnot when he was 7. Now hes hooked. He went to pantera last year and lost his damn mind. Now we are seeing slipknot again this year for his 10th birthday. The kid is a full metalhead and now becoming a mask collector and has all of my old original slipknot stuff. Posters, flags, jumpsuits i past all down to him. Never ending cycle
This man confessing to his old school Dance Dance Revolution addiction is a testament to how diverse the 90's were...Love that it's getting the attention of how fun it was to grow up in this decade 🤘
Slaughter Prevail is the best band I’ve ever seen live. Such crazy energy and absolutely insane to see the power of the guys in the band. If you’ve seen them live and you see Viking, watching Alex scream without a mic is one of the craziest things ever
Im in Tennessee and unfortunately we dont get a lot of these cool festivals around. Would've loved to see this and kudos to you for getting to experience an event like this
This was my 10th Slipknot concert and managed to get to the front of the rail and later crowd surfed. This was one of my favorite festivals that I’ve been to and got to see a lot of cool new bands as well.
My wife just bought tickets for us to see KoRn, Gojira, and Spiritbox in October. Absolutely stoked!!!! I’ve been wanting to see KoRn since I discovered them in like ‘97. This will be my second time seeing Gojira and I’m just as stoked! Don’t know much about our Spiritbox but I’m down for something new. Idk about these festivals tho. I’m not in the best of health and I don’t think I could swing a full day.
Slipknot are the masked legends, these other bands are great but need an original take on presentation, too many masked bands, all copying Slipknot, love the music though,it's no diss, just need more original stage shows that don't copy the masked legends,Eloy is the bomb, great choice, great set,by far the best band of the day,Slipknot showed them all how it's really done.
(V.A.N.) Violence Against Nature with Poppy is such an awesome song & it's cool Bad Omens brought her out for it! And Baby Metal with Bring Me The Horizon had to be epic!🤘🏼💙
Danny Elfman had a New Wave band called Oingo Boingo back in the 80's , Dead Man's Party was a great album with the title track & Weird Science (from the movie of the same name) being the top tracks. Yeah I'm that old ...ugh
It's awesome you got noticed at "Sic New World". I love watching your podcasts ❤. I'm also pissed I can't get to see Slipknot here in the UK, but I got to see Corey Taylor in the Hammersmith Apollo while wearing my CMF2 cap. I live in an area in the UK and I need to travel into London ❤ to see any band, but I'm happy with that as I ❤ LONDON.
If people want to see Danny Elfman go watch Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield. Elfman's band Oingo Boingo is in it. They play their song Dead Man's Party. Danny Elfman is a musical genius.
Was that Su-Metal & Moa backstage watching SlipKnkot lol. Ladies have been making the rounds. Not to mention their epic live performance of Kingslayer with Bring Me The Horizon!! Sick new world was a baller despite almost getting crushed in the process!! 🤘🦊🔥
I can't take a band seriously if they wear masks. Never could. Never will. *Edit: just listened to Sleep Token for the first time ever. I stand by my statement. That caterwauling is annoying. Ya'll need help.
It was my first festival and I enjoyed it. Was lucky to have good weather. Vans,Nike etc should do a collaboration with festivals to make festival approved shoes 😂 I’m definitely attending 2025 but they have to make it two days. One day was brutal 😩
Danny Elfman is why I became a musician.... Oingo Boingo is incredibly under-rated *** Edit --- Danny Elfman also has Wes Borland as one of the touring guitarists.
Slipknot is killing it! Eloy is a damn machine, perfect timing, satisfying hard hits. MMMMMMMMmmmMM! They had me worried for awhile, but now they seem better than ever!
I’m so glad this festival was such a hit, I actually bought tickets to SNW but wasn’t able to go. I did get to go to SNW 2023 so at least I’ve seen S.O.A.D 🙏🏼
Agreed the fest was amazing. It was great meeting you as well and chatting a bit. Hope you enjoyed your first trip to Vegas and continue making great content.
Bryan you deserve all the praise for the work you do on Rock Feed. Rock feed is my number one news source for music, so thank you for being a god damn bloody legend dude! ❤
It may be time for me to buy a Slipknot album as a gateway drug. There is a song or two that I was feeling. I never gave them a chance because I thought they were not my cup of tea. I am a fan of System of the Down. I need to get more albums from them with only having two. I wish they would go on more tours and maybe come out with a new album but that might be pushing it, I don't know. It's cool they had a moment of tribute. That is awesome and I should check out the other bands mentioned.
I did SNW both last year and this year. Weather was fantastic this year. Scheduling overlaps were worse this year. It was more crowded this year. Food was equal to how bad it was last year. Prices are ...... ha ha I think you know how bad it is. Merch is way overpriced. Good selection though. The vibe was incredible both years. Everybody is super cool. Fashion was WILD! Security was good both years. Less bathrooms this year????? Why??? Anyway, I'll be there next year.
I'm glad Danny Elfman is still performing and it's great that more young people are becoming aware of him. (They've been surrounded by him in various shows and movies possibly without even being aware of it.). Then there's what he did with Oingo Boingo....a living legend.
The first concert I ever saw was Slipknot opening for Stone Sour in Des Moines, Iowa in 1995. Here we are, 25 years after the first album. It's time to celebrate the legacy back where it all started. I already have my ticket for Knotfest IOWA 2024! 🤘
I was privileged enough to see Bring Me with Spiritbox at the Side Show the night before so skipped part of BMTH set to see Static Dress (along with less than 200 people.) Haven’t seen that kind of raw energy on stage since Nirvana in 1992. Keep your eyes on these guys! Also, if you liked Slaughter, Jinjer was just as good. Both just spectacular heavy bands. All in all a great fest. Wish I had run into you!
While a lot of kids were there, this is definitely a festival for people of a certain age like myself…. So much 90’s vibes! Wish I was near Vegas. Thanks for the great reporting!!
I flew 20 hours for that show, unfortunately I was super tired and didn’t show up until A Perfect Circle started. Overall it was a very impressive festival, I hope to see it again next year 🤘
It sucks I missed when Slipknot came to Memphis FedEx forum because I had surgery like a few months before that and I was in casts and I was in a wheelchair so I couldn't go see it sadly
Second year that we attended. Its a great lineup this year as well as last year. System of a Down was the draw for us last year and Danny Elfman was this year. We flew from the midwest. I hope the organizers keep this festival going. Its brings in new fans from all ages. Glad you had a good time!
I was one of the few kids at my school in the 90s and early 2000s that liked rock. Got made fun of constantly for it. Music was my first love.😂 I thought id have seen all my fav bands by now. Life has been rough. I work 2 jobs and still am only able to afford groceries lately by using a credit card. No car. Havent been to a show since i was 22yrs old. System of a down was literally one of my favorite and most listened to bands of my childhood and adult life. Slipknot self-titled album was one of my first real cds (not burnt). I havent ever seen either band. Nine inch nails and stone temple pilots and smashing pumpkins were 3 of the best shows i ever attended and that was 18 yeara ago. I, unfortunately, dont think ill ever be lucky enough to see system of a down or slipknot live. Ive rocked out to their shows on youtube and thats probably the closest ill get. I couldnt afford it, even ifi were lucky enough to be near a show.
Im wondering if there's already planning for Sick New World 2025? 🤓 I don't ever get to see shows anymore, let alone festivals. Can't afford it but thanks for the report.
I was raised on Nu Metal and I hope it makes a savage return because I think the world needs it!!!! Maybe the planets are just aligning
Totally! Us toooo! 🔥🤘🔥
it's the cycle
every 20 years rock and metal goes back to mainstream
exactly when people are getting fed up with the state of the world
It has already the bands that brought it back are backwordz cane Hill Attila Ocean Grove smoke signals sworn in darker complex with Nu metalcore

Finally another person my age!
Such an honor for Slipknot to have Eloy Casagrande as the band's drummer.
Eloy Big house. That's what his name means.
This was my first big Festival, I got to see 20 bands
In order I saw...
Nonpoint
Kittie
Spiritbox
Lorna Shore
Fear Factory
Powerman5000
BabyMetal
Lamb of God
Primus
Bad Omens
Loathe(1 or 2 songs)
Slaughter to Prevail
Kublai Khan TX
Static-X
Motionless in White
Jinjer
Better Lovers
Bring Me The Horizon
Slipknot
System of a Down.
The crowed seemed hyped. A couple pits, a couple fights, sounds like the 90s lol thats a great time
Man our band waited for thisssss 🔥🤘🔥 so freaking hyped
The 90's didn't have just a couple of pits though. From what I hear, their pits were also way harder.
If people dont know who Danny Elfman is you're missing out! One of the best movie composers of all time. Right up there with John Williams and Hanz Zimmer!
Mad I have to miss Slipknot as it’s my dream to see them live. My Dad is leaving the next day at 4 AM of the Mansfield concert.
Awe, Im sorry. I have seen both of them live, ( different shows,) they were both AWESOME! Hope one day you get the chance one day!
Bring your dad with you 🤘🏽🥁

FACTS! I'm a 90s kid, and it really was a completely different time
DDR was early 2000s, but the 90s-00s were amazing.
Slaughter Prevail is the best band I’ve ever seen live. Such crazy energy and absolutely insane to see the power of the guys in the band. If you’ve seen them live and you see Viking, watching Alex scream without a mic is one of the craziest things ever
Did the slipknot set include any kind of homage to Joey? Good to hear SOAD paying their respects and really that should come from Corey
Im in Tennessee and unfortunately we dont get a lot of these cool festivals around. Would've loved to see this and kudos to you for getting to experience an event like this
Same here
When I lived in Nashville we went to Rockville in Daytona every year. Definitely worth the drive.
@kennethosburn2962 I live near Memphis and we have Memphis in May fest...but it's usually garbage
@@bradbutner8972 but Memphis in May was down by the river and but I think this year it's going to be I forgot where it was going to be darn it

A alguns anos atrás, fiz alguns sons com o Eloy na batera e eu na Guitarra no Estúdio, ele é muito gente boa...excelente pessoa.
Danny Elfman does a lot of orchestration for bands… he’s done most of the orchestral composing for Avenged Sevenfold.
System of a Down, Slipknot and BabyMetal!!!!
It's not even a question between system of a down and sleep token. Everyone would pick system
that’s crazy cuz i’d pick sleep token
Yeah, I picked SOAD. But I was a bit sad. Wish I could have seen both
I saw SOAD for like 5 songs and then I went to see Sleep Token. They sounded so good. It was worthy
I'd pick sleep token every time. I like a few soad songs but alot of their discography is very mid to me idk I love st tho.
Just turned 40 a bit ago. It was nice to see a younger crowd at the fest.
New metalheads/rockers are spawning with the nu metal revival movement 🔥
Diablo stage was absolutely insane. So much fun!!
Yes I stopped by for kublai khan it was sick!
Hit Me Up If You Like :
Marilyn Manson

Falling In Reverse

No
I only like Deftones.

Should be titled "SOAD cares more about former drummer Joey Jordison than Slipknot does."
I went to a metal festival in Vegas in 2000. System, static x, stone temple pilots and much more. No where near the size of this thing.
I can respect Danny Elfman, but not at a metal festival. It really killed the vibe before BMTH and Slipknot.
Agreed the fest was amazing. It was great meeting you as well and chatting a bit. Hope you enjoyed your first trip to Vegas and continue making great content.
