HI HELLO!
Luv ur channel Fern💚👻
I have a question for you! What do you do to care for an air plant?
Well done and spot on care guide! 👍👍
@@orchidsbythelake thanks so much!
“I’ve never had mealy bugs, I hope I don’t ever have to deal with mealy bugs.” I busted up laughing and said “girl it’s coming for you. It’s coming for you.”😂 I am loving watching all your old videos. This is fantastic fun❤
I just started building my hoya collection and this video was very helpful! I'd love to see a care guide video for ficus elastica tineke and variegated string of hearts
Loved this video and all your different Hoya's I definitely want more.
Fern this is perfect timing, I'm getting my first hoya today! I was researching propagating with superthrive and this popped up, I would have watched it today anyway, I just got here sooner. I have 3 govee and I love them, so I won't be entering giveaway. Thank you for all the great info. Enjoy your week!
Ahh that’s perfect timing!! Glad you’re loving your govee too, they are so awesome :)
Thanks for showing the sun damage! I have this on some of my queen. I thought I was having some sort of fungal issue but this makes sense now since it does get some direct sun
Glad I could help :)
Thank you for this, I’m a new plant mum and love my Hoya
Thank you so much for this video. I am being known as a plant lady and I was just gifted a hoya. They have always intrigued me but I am a bit scared because I have heard that they are difficult to care for. Your video has included a lot of really practical tips for me to monitor this new plant and keep it thriving in my home! Also, I might go out and buy a couple of those Govee hygrometers, they're not only great for plant people but also for our other hobbies like cheese making!
Good to know they do okay under grow lights! I might have to pick up a few 😊
I’m revisiting this video because I just got my first Hoya!! I know I shouldn’t be buying plant in the winter but it was a sale and I couldn’t resist. I just got my first cutting of a Hoya Kerrii and I’m excited!!!
Ohh that’s so exciting!
Another great video and it’s right on time! I ordered a hoya obovata that was shipped to me today 🎉. It’s my first hoya and I’m so excited!!! Can’t wait for the next video, Fern!! 💚
Wonderful! I love Obovata!
love this video! really needed it as i got my first hoya a few weeks ago!!!
That's so exciting! Good luck :)
I was just wondering how I should propagate my hoya plants, thank you!
You're so welcome!
I recently got a krimson princess so this is good timing!! thanks!!
I'm not a person who loves one certain genus.... BUT HOYA THO👀
RIGHT
Such a good resourceful video! Hoya have quickly become an obsession of mine and I love seeing yours!
Awesome! Thank you! Glad you liked it x
I started fertilizing my hoyas with orchid fertilizer after you suggested it in a video and it has worked so well! My hoyas are thriving 😊
Same here...this was definitely a great tip...here's hoping we get peduncles 🤞
Ahh I'm so glad
Love your videos! They're so helpful and I'm always excited to see a new video from you! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much!! I appreciate you!
I have 3 hoyas, working on getting possibly one more before it gets too cold! My favorite out of my 3 is the obovata. I just love him so much and the circle leaves are just the cutest. I am gonna try that orchid miracle grow stuff! Thanks for the vid :)
Oh that's awesome - I can't wait for my Obovata to grow, they are so. beautiful!
Those are some really great Hiya plant care tips👍🏽 and your outfit is cute!
Thanks so much! 😊
I totally do the squeeze test 😂 I love that , that’s what I’m going to call it now as well .
Hi! Thanks for the Hoya tips. I’m about to receive a few and they will be my first so I will probably need the help. I’ve love to know more about String of Hearts and Strings of Pearls.
Loved this one! Gracias
vaooo thank you for the video, i have ordered today morning a crimson princces, it will be my 1st hoya and im really excited to have it :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Ahh just the video I needed today to distract from the US Election😅🤣
Looool no kidding.
same😭😭
Not me at this time stuck in a dessert during this because my car broke down 😗
YES!! I‘m new to the Hoya addict club and I LOVE your content. This is such a perfect combination ^^ could‘nt wait for the upload 🥰
Ahh thank you so much! Glad you love it.
This video came out at the perfect time, I just ordered my first hoya last week hehehe MUCH EXCITE
Hope you enjoy it!
Love my Govee and the Bluetooth connectivity, it works great!
Right! It's so awesome :)
I'm a fairly new Hoya mama. I have a very tiny Hindu Rope, a very tiny Crimson Princess and a very tiny Suzie Q. I absolutely love them 💚
Beautiful choices!
Thank you so much for such an amazing video.
Verry interesting, thanks!
Always love your videos
Thanks for watching!
I’m very excited to finally see a tiny bit of new growth on my one leafed Caudata Sumatra, it’s my second try with this one , I heard you can root those long vines in water , I’m trying an experiment with a Verricosum leafe wo a node , I used honey 🍯 for rooting hormone and bagged in spag , have no idea 🤷♀️ if this will work Tfs 🧚♀️
Ohhh beautiful! Caudata Sumatra are amazing.
Love this! Very useful tips!!! Thanks Fern 💕 i have a question though, what water do you use for your water propagations? I tried propagating my hoya bella in water (i used tap water) but it died 😢
Gorgeous angel from heaven back at it again with another video 🌱
My love my love! 😍
Yessss thank you for the video,Fern!! 😍🌿
I also loove your rings! Where do you get them?
Thanks so much! They're from Etah Love.
Hello I want to say thank you for saying this video I learned a lot happy looking forward for your next video God bless
Thank you so much for watching 😊
Love this! Can you make a video for begonia care?
String of hearts 💕 please do a care video on the string of hearts 💕 fern please and I love your videos
i just got ivy and pothos plants! i would love some care tips for those:)
Love this video Fern! I have a small collection of Hoyas and most of them are small cuttings. I need to get that Orchid fertilizer, I have heard other plant tubers talk about it. Thanks so much for sharing! 🌱💚
Thanks so much for watching! Hope all your Hoya grow big and strong :)
Your videos make me so happy ! Thank you 💚🌿😘
You are so welcome!
Fern I love your videos !! Thank you for posting :)
Glad you like them! It's my pleasure :)
So nice! I want a hoya so bad!
been waiting for this 🙏🏼💖🥰
Awesome - thanks for watching!
You and Harli G peeked my curiosity of hoya and I had to get one. Went with the hoya carnosa crimson queen, I broke off 2 of the new leaves when I got it. It is getting in two new ones that are so gorgeous 😍
The Krimson queen is one of my absolute favourites! Good choice 😄
@@wildfern mine too! 🥰
I know that this is years old, but this makeup trend looks really good on you. I'm already missing the eyebrows on everyone and myself. 😂 I will keep the glossier look forever!
Thank youuuu 🥰
I really wish we had something like that orchid spray in Australia! 😣 My Mathilde Splash is such a slow grower, it needs all the help it can get!
Thank you great video. I’m a new Hoya mom. I only have have one. I got the princess, she’s small but I like to start smaller with plants I’m not fimilar with, lol
Yes very true haha. Good luck with her!
Do a care video on monstera please xx
Could you do a care video for your Hoya rotundiflora. I think it’s soooo beautiful
Thanks! It’s probably one of my easiest ones. I can ignore it for sooo long. It doesn’t need water often, the leaves stay firm for weeks.
Just a quick question on fertilization-have you tried using general hydroponics (that you use on your plants in leca) with your plants in soil? I just found out that you can do that and I’ve heard great things about it. I would love to see you do an update on using general hydroponics in your plants in leca like your Thai constellation. I know you touched on it in your leca update, but i would love to know your thoughts on GH. 🌱💕
I have never used it in soil, I didn't know if you could lol. And okay I will make an update, thanks!
@@wildfern I just purchased it the other day and read the back; then I went on the website and found out you could use it with soil too. My mind was blown a little bit lol. Thank you!! 🌱💕
hey! this video was super helpful. Roughly how often do you use the orchid spray on your hoya?
I try to spray them once a week but honestly I’m not super on top of it lol.
I’ve lost(killed) my Kerrii. I’m very sad but it’s all a learning experience.
Thanks for all the information. 😊
Awe you're welcome!
I see mealy bug occasionally on my hoyas. It's normally just one, and I take it off right away. I have never had any infestation so far. Knocking on wood. It seems like mealies absolutely love Hoya nectar! I wonder where they come from?
What timing! Receiving my first 2 Hoyas today. Sunrise & Carnosa Krimson Queen! In India not so easily found. 😀
Oooh that's awesome! I love both of those. Can't wait to add a sunrise to my collection.
I love the govee products! I have the small one💖
foliar feeding is such a weird concept.. like i just don't get it lol. but im happy to see it working for you ! ya boys look great
Thank you!!
Awesome suggestions! 😊🌿
Thank you!! 😊
Great video! Thank you! I recently propagated a hoya by placing thr end of a leaf into water for an experiment. It rooted. Question. Will that leaf grow into a plant or will it stay a leaf with roots? Thanks.
Without any stem it's not super likely that it will grow into a full plant, but it CAN happen, so it's worth a shot!
Great video just have a quick question how often do you spritz it with the orchid fertilizer?
Once a week :)
How often do you spray them with the orchid mist?? And do you continue throughout the winter?? So much love from Ontario you quickly became my favourite plant-tuber
Thank you sooo much! I spray them every 1-2 weeks. I spray them all year long, yes. But probably less frequently in the winter... maybe every few weeks.
I wish I could enter the giveaway! I’ve been looking for a good hydro-meter but I don’t have social media.
Thank you for hoya video
Great video! I need more videos like that about another plants. 🌱 The next plant may be ceropegia woodi/string of hearts. I have problem with her. 😅
Haha thanks so much! And I have problems with her too 😬😆
@@wildfern People write everywhere that is such a simple plant and grows like a weed 😂
I took a Hoya cutting 4 yrs ago and it still hasn't developed buds that I can see. Is there something special that I need to do?
If u can’t get all the mods off hoya starter plants for fear of ripping off the tiny roots r they subject ti root rot .thank u in advance
Not in my experience, they should be fine :)
What soul do you use for Hoyas?
i love the way hoyas looks like but every time I search to buy one I never found :( it's so sad
Great sponsorship choice! I have a govee.
Thanks! I was so stoked to work with them.
Wildfern X Govee, thanks for the hoya info!
Any time!
Do you use the orchid spray all year round? I am also in Canada! Just getting into Hoyas ! 😍😍
Thanks for the video
I do! But not as often. Maybe only once a month or so. Thanks so much for watching!
Definitely going to enter the giveaway 🙂🙏
Good luck!! x
Morning everyone!
Good morning!!!
I love hoya but sadly I'm only into the more expensive ones because the non plain jane ones are pricer 😂😂 I feel like next spring is when I'll be getting into my hoya buying. Right now I only have pub. , Crimson princess, crimson queen, hindu, burtonia & my favorite polynerra. ( I know I spelled all that wrong) it just sucks how expensive they are for how tiny the cuttings can be 😂 this year all my money went to airoids. Next year, Hoyaaaaa
Can I put my hoyas in my south facing bedroom window? It doesn't get direct light all day. But i was thinking of putting white paper on the window so that it has some type of filter. Good idea??
Yep! A sheer curtain or something similar would be helpful :)
Hey fern! I just noticed a couple of my Hoya pubicalyx’s runner ends have dried up😕 what could be the cause of that?
Sometimes that happens to mine too, and I honestly don't know what causes it. I've noticed it more when my Hoya's are very thirsty, so maybe it's under watering?
This happens to my pubicalyx when I wait too long between waterings
I’m on my second Hoya Australis and can’t seem to keep it alive :( I repotted to terra cotta with a well draining mix and have given it a pole to climb. It’s in a bright window and the bottoms leave get yellow and fall off 😩 any idea what I could be doing wrong?
My Australis is thirstier than my carnosas/pubicalyx etc. The leaves are thinner and less succulent, so holds less water in the leaves. I also find it does not respond well to drying out as much, ie for the Australis I don't wait until the mature leaves feel soft as that takes it too far into dry and it takes a long time to recover from that, I check the new-ish leaves instead. Mine is in terracotta too, but I'm going to repot it into a nursery+cover pot as I think that will help a little too.
@@CP-ew8uu thanks so much! I’ve been having a hard time finding info on Australis and watering. Much appreciated ♥️
I needed this!!!!!!! My Hoyas are dying 😭
Hope they recover quickly!!
I only have 3 Hoyas. I haven’t been bit by the Hoya bug yet 😅 what are some Hoyas that really captured your plant heart?
Hoya Polyneura, Krimson Queen, & Linearis
@@wildfern ooooo thanks! I think i want to get a polyneura next🧜🏼♀️👀
my pup knocked my crimson queen down the day I got it and it’s leaves have never looked the same :( it’s been a month and a half and she’s still done nothing, I hope i didn’t damage her too bad. I have a feeling she’ll heal after I stop being so stressed out about the election and putting off bad vibes
Ohhh no! She will recover eventually. So sad when accidents like that happen.
So weird! I leave my variegated hoya kerrii directly in the sill of a northwest facing window and it has never been sunburnt! 😯
Edit: in Toronto, so over the summer I got a good amount of sun.
Wow! You’re lucky!!! Mine is cranky I guess
Hello Fern, I've been using the orchid food on my 2 hoya and they are under grow lights. My Hoya Pubicalyx splash I have had about 10 yrs i guess and it has never bloomed yet. I don't know if my Hindu Rope will bloom. Btw what do we think about those fertilizer sticks?
I've never used the fertilizer sticks. Only liquid.
@@wildfernThanks i was looking for the Hoya Mathilde and they were out of my budget unfortunately so I settled for Kindle Hoya and the Obovata Spash. One of those were on my wish list anyway. I also have the Hoya Polyneura on my list too.
How often do you use the orchid spray on the Hoyas?
about every 2 weeks :)
That fern behind you! 💕
Haha I'm surprised it's actually doing okay! :)
Man this is such new territory for me haha. I hope I get my green thumb soon 🤪
Haha!
I've been having such troubles with my mathilde yellowing. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. 🙃
Oooh darn :( overwatering?
Hey Fern i love ur videos
I plan on it! Thanks for watching x
@@wildfern yaaas ^^
Fern your lipstick is pretty...could you tell me what brand and color you are wearing...thx for another great video 😁 #imahoyahead
Thanks for watching! Lipstick info is in the description box 💘
How often do you use the spray fertilizer?? ✨✨
Every 1-2 weeks :)
How often do you spray them with the Orchid fertilizer?
Every 1-2 weeks.
@@wildfern thank you!❤️
How do you tell if your linearis needs water? Its leaves feel so delicate and I am afraid of breaking it 😅
I know some people bend the leaves and if it's soft they water. I honestly just water mine right when it dries out. I try not to leave it too long dry.
good morning!
Hi good morning!!
my Hoya sigillatis and Hoya gracilis - hate me so much.... they both are dropping and yellowing leaves on me. and Im so sad about it, because I love them so much
Ohh nooo. I'm trying to bring back a dying sigillatis cutting and it's not going well.
@@wildfern they are such a spoiled bitches xD
Ignoring my teacher on zoom for this LMAAOAOA
LOOL
You water them every one to two months? That's quite a range.
The large plastic baskets - yes! It depends on weather :)
🌿💚
😇😇😇😇
Did NOT like the ad!!!
OMG mealybugs on my Hindu rope! 🥺😩🤬
AHhhh :(
