There’s a lot to like about this boat. Hopefully it illustrates the benefits to sailing couples that a boat of less than 40 feet can provide. My only hesitation is the exposed helm position and wide open transom. Two things I’ve never asked for when cruising far off shore. The price would be the third thing, but that’s just me.
Wow, I never would have expected it to be such a beauty inside!! It looks so nice and light and modern though still very cosy - marvelous job!! Want one! 😍
Great looking balance of comfort and performance. I have a J-133, and I see a lot of similarity between the JPK and the J-133. That said, it’s still more stripped down than something like a J-133, so I feel like if you’re going to go “performance cruiser” it could go just a hair more “cruiser” without compromising all that much on performance (for example, pleather surfacing on the rooftop looks nice, but also helps with insulation a bit, and having a basic headliner helps a TON with pleasant lighting in the evenings and there’s somewhere tidy to run the wires). It would also be nice to have a little more enclosure on the transom... I understand you’ll be outrunning most breaking swell, but it’s nice to have a bit more security of an enclosed cockpit if the swell is up. I do like how the sprit is encapsulated, and that there’s a crash bulkhead (given the speeds that the boat is capable of). In general, great looking and sailing boat! It’s a really good fit for many of the people out there looking to cruise at speed.
What a loverly thing it is. Looks like much thought has gone into this boat to make it a true enjoyable sailing machine that can be used as a cruising boat.
thats a good looking craft !!!... and seems to sail well. looking forward to keeping track of this one over the next couple of years. As always... great review... and WOW what a good looking sensible boat !
Yes would be interesting, we took delivery of a MAT 1070 in August, sailed it back from Turkey to Spain, now competing in regattas. Had our first win just before Xmas
@@yachtingworld I wrote about the keel because I read an article how it's happening a lot lately. Very interesting subject for your channel. It might have been an article in Yachting World. I read them when I'm at my dentist.
This one looks like a good pick for fair weather cruising staying near home. I don't like the exposed helm and the back it wide open. One slip and you'll slide out the back and the boat leaves you behind. Plus it looks like an invitation for a big wave to put a ton on water inside the boat.
damn ... sucks to be poor ... well I just wait 50 years and I pick that boat up for a nice 10k.... let me get my calculator... oh I will be 100 years old ... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My opinion: it's really great to see solo sailors out there doing there thing. I don't want to say but solo sailing is folly. If someone who is mob requires urgent publicly funded RNLI to go out and find them. Is it fair?
OK, if you are held up in the public eye, whether you like it or not, you have a Responsibility to demonstrate your Right actions so that everyone else follows you. If you are a person who continues to demonstrate bad wrong actions then you should be held up in society. If you are going to sail solo you introduce faulty decision making into your sailing, with the worst case scenario being mob. If you wear a mob alarm gas then you are aware of the dangers of sailing solo: should you be aloud to sail solo? Have you checked your life insurance policy?
@Scott Digger Dillon Had JP been tethered to a jack line, would that have allayed your concerns? I to some extent agree with your assessment. I am a sailor who yearns to go out solo, but for the reason you mention, namely MOB, have yet to take the leap. If I ever do make that leap, I fully intent to undertake “best practices” in an effort to come back to port alive and in one piece!
The light blue livery blew me away. Beauty.

By far the best reviewer of new boats on RUclips.
Thank you!
Ever watched a review by Chris Beeson? I'm guessing no.
@@atakd He’s not active anymore, so the new boats he reviewed are old now
The interior is nicely done and looks easy to clean without looking cheap
Pretty boat, seems to need rope bags on deck, could turn into spaghetti quickly. Love the galley.

Where does the washing/dryer combo get placed. There is a lot that I like about this boat. Keep up the good work Toby.

Advantages of open stern is that big breakers can quickly drain and spill out, plus saving on weight.

Wow, a performance sailboat with more comfort inside than other cruiser sailboats... lots of windows and light down there. Awesome.
Seems to me the headroom is lacking, I'm 6ft2 and I would be banging my head in this one. Shame, couse it looks like a sweet ride this one.
Man I love this boat. Performance with a nice interior I could be proud to bring people to.
Most desirable boat on the market for short cruises I think... it seems that the waiting list is 2 years long already.
True!
I'm a bit jealous at her speed in less than 10 knots of wind! My sv Cadence struggles in light wind. ⛵
Sunbeam should team up with JPK to make a 40 cruiser. 👍
Hope to see you reviewing a M.A.T. yacht one day!

@@barrymccrae7242 That's cool. Hope to see more videos of MAT 1070 on your channel!
Güzel tasarım içinde keyifli seyir için tasarlanmış...👏⛵🗺🙂
I think the deck area is a bit too messy and the inside is a bit too simplistic even for a performance cruiser.
Anyone else that wants to see some sailing on a Dragonfly 40?
Very nice video set of a charming boat and producer
SUCH A GREAT BOAT !
Toby, your reviews are the best. But please do some better sound normalization!
Thank you - and will do. This was one of the last filmed in a batch before upgrading the equipment!
And European Yacht of the Year in its category - deservedly so.

Can I sail around the world in it and how likely is the keel to fall off?
Yes and depends what you hit!

Interesting how the design repeats some elements of the RM line…
And a very nice electrical installation, which is not common!
So how much does it cost? :) Happy 20-year X-302 user here

Having spent time in both I would have to fundamentally disagree!
