Regrets life? I think Walter regrets that he wasn't more successful, that old age has compelled Walter to leave the PBA, that the PBA has gone downhill since the 80's, management doesn't always operate in the players' best interests, and that Walter's relationship didn't work out with Paige. All we know about the Walter and Paige marriage, is that they got divorced, and Walter's current wife only spoke vaguely about what happened (probably an agreement not to bash each other publicly) leading up to the divorce.
5:09 Belmonte hit the headpin of the first ball and only picked up four pins. That in itself is quite an anomaly. Then to convert that split is impressive, but it's easier than the Greek church because of the added 3-pin. Still, it's very rare and was exciting for the crowd to see.
This might create some controversy, but Simonsen often shoots it a similar way these days. Backup balls have utility in the right situations and lane conditions. There was a time when backup balls were laughed at, since they were very rare at the professional level. But a lot of tricks like this have become more common in the modern game where versatility is imperative to being a champion. Anything reasonably within the rules to get the pins down is becoming acceptable and I think that's awesome.
well two great quotes from back in the day. if it was easy anybody could do it. and remember there's only 3 spares in the world the 7 the 10 and everything else
About 5 years ago I had a dream that I made the 4-5-6-7-8-9-10 in the 10th frame to win a match by 1 pin. I threw a crazy fast sweeping hook shot that hit at about the 4-5-7-8 spots. The 8 took out the 9 and 10, while something popped out and tipped the 6 forward. As you can imagine, my teammates went bananas when they saw it.
It's 4-6-7-9-10, splits are named in ascending numbers that's why it's the 7-10 and not the 10-7, just wanted to let you know that, it's not named in response to what pins are left
2:01. That guy knows where Jimmy Hoffa is!
No! But! I would be willing too bet that he has experience in where to bury the survivors
Walter Ray: (converts 4-6-7-10)

@@Krranski Backup balls are cool.
You obviously haven't watched a lot of bowling then
The announcer early in this video gets more excited for bowling than Joe Buck does for football & baseball 😆
Watching this video now wants me to watch that woody harrelson movie kingpin lol

Anthony Nueuer much?
You forgot to include Chris Barnes' left handed 2-8-10 split conversion.
It’s because he can show just so many split conversions.
How many times has that guy seen a 2-8-10 split again?
ONE TIME
Probably 400

That sounds cool ngl
I'm more interested in the shot where you only knocked down the 1, 2, 3.
I managed to pick up a 1-5-7 split.
The wonders of getting out of jail.
beautiful!
I used to pick up these types of splits all the time when I was a kid. No chance in hell I could do it now.
If you really want to demoralize your opponent, make the split conversion and then strike in the next frame afterwards.
I miss Mike Fagan.

awasome
Are there any video of someone making the 5-7-10 split.
The Walter Ray Williams Jr big 4 is probably the best

Without a question. It was the only one ever made on TV. 7-10 was converted 3 times.

Yep. The Big 4 is statistically harder than the 7-10.

Asshat. You know nothing of bowling, if you think that bowling isn't a sport. What's your average, 43?
You must have a low IQ because as a bowler myself I know for a fact bowling is just as much a sport as anything else

My brother converted a 7-10 when he was seven years old ... best I've converted was a 6-7-10 at the age of 30.

Hate how he had to brag about the splits he made! It was Dick Allen's moment. Not his.
He wast. He was saying how incredibly hard it is to convert.
Their opponents are so freidndly wtf
A few of these (like the 3-6-7-10) aren't that impressive.
