A RINO mat made for your floor instead of carpet works great.

Great setup. I agree about the keys being an issue. I have a Rangerunner with two doors and two different keys. It is Runaway being cheap. If we can buy keyed alike lock sets, I have a feeling Runaway can do the same.

Seems odd. You'd think the lowest price point would be all keys the same. To me, it's no big deal to have a locksmith fix that issue.

Thanks for the review. Mental notes taken: Water is better than gas, AC is not needed unless you live in the desert or the humid south, no to carpet and enclosed cabinetry so you don’t have to look at all your stuff.

I am seriously considering a Venturist but I saw on another RUclips video that stated the door does not seal well and the aluminum is actually quite flimsy allowing dust and even light to show through. Thoughts? Also, if one looks up Runaway Venturist + issues, there is another article which says that the composite roof on the camper begins to sag and eventually crack! Again, I am not trying to start anything here but I don't want to drop $15k and have this happen. Have you observed anything like this on your rig after the past 2 years? Thanks...

I like your simple and effective setup. My wife and I have taken that approach with our truck camping; we don’t add stuff until it’s proven we need and will use it. Thanks for the videos!

@@OutoftheOfficeAdventures You've done a really good job. If the kids are too big for the camper, you could add a rooftop tent and be done with it.

Is the size 4x6 or 6x8?

To hang stuff on the walls permanently get some sheet rock plastic pitchure hangers short ones so they do not go thru to out side ...Get some rubber mats that look like puzzel pieces for the floor it would help keep the floor warmer too and easy to clean come in assorted colors .. Make sure carpet is on the ceiling would help with condesation and you can use velcro on it too hang stuff up ...

Overall you seem to have gotten a lot of use out of the trailer and are happy with it. Seems like most runaway owners are happy with their trailer too. I'm curious, how tall are you if you're sleeping side to side instead of front to back. Orienting the bed that way really seems like it creates more useable space inside for other stuff. Thanks for the segment.

I'm 5'10"... only leaves a couple inches but I can sleep like that.

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 Год назад +1

You can also sleep at a bit of an angle, and stretch out corner to corner on a decent-sized bed. The diagonal of a 4'x6' bed is 7.2'.

How far off the ground is the hitch? I want to get the right height before I take possession.
The Venturist is a good meeting of quality construction and price point. I wasn't AS worried about price point as I was about the construction, cabin size and suspension. It's also one of the few campers that comes all stripped down, and leaves it up to the owner to decide how they want to equip it. That's appealing to me, because I've collected all KINDS of camping gear over the years, and I enjoy setting it up and using it.
Moving up to a mini off-road camper will seem like glamping, to me. It doesn't take much more cargo than I already have in my pickup to move up to a serious outfitter's tent and a heavy-duty EZ-up type shelter. It's bulkier than my traditional tarp city, but is a lot more straightforward to set up a good-sized covered area for cooking and other purposes.
I don't think I'll do much off-roading with it, but I'm adjacent to a lot of national forest and wilderness, and the built-for-the-highway trailers wear out pretty quickly, or break down on the one washout you need to navigate to get where you're trying to get.
Nice setup. I like the way everybody adds their own unique touches.

Do you live in New Orleans? I would love to see it in person because I want to buy one. Been looking at RUclips videos for 3years now.
RUclips videos are not accurate on size of these campers.

Yes! In fact, I will soon be listing for sale. I love this unit and hate to get rid of it.😥 But my kids are growing and I need something a tad bit bigger.

Your current jack doesn't seem to be the stock one. Or maybe they just started putting the XO500 Trailer Jack on the Venturist recently?

Thanks for the video , I am still deciding between the venturist and the 6x8 Kong. I have 2 teen kids. What will be your bigger size camper candidates?

Maybe a NOBO 16 BH or a GeoPro. I'm not really into RVs but it would be nice for more trips with my wife and kids. Then maybe I'll get a rooftop tent to put on my truck for rougher solo adventures. Ideally, I'd keep the Runaway too, but I can't justify owning 2 trailers. I'm only starting to think about it.

Maybe you should c/o InTech again. We bought a barely used 2018 Flyer Pursue several years ago for $10K. All aluminum frame & skin with insulation. Has rooftop AC/Heat unit, Maxx 10 Speed Fan, Pull Out Kitchen with Cooler/Stove/Storage, TV/Stereo. Added a Iron Man tent room connected to rear doors that open to create a larger living space. Weights 1600 lbs unloaded. Fits in the garage. Keeping it simple.
