I am Russian and his Russian sounds fine to me, but Hollywood stuff like "Good Americans beat bad Russians" is really annoying to me. As I know Spassky and Fischer had a lot of respect for each other.
I think at least Live was the right casting for Spassky, who had a sportsman's build. Unfortunately, Tobey's Fischer was way too short and looked like a child beside him.
I can't really understand what he says at 0:37-0:39 - "вот он и массирует"?? it must be "симулирует", I'm not sure. but I should say the other man is perfect, suspect he is russian
pretty sure they are fluent in Russian too :) I've been talking about hardships in understanding Russian, well, I agree the actor did a great job but it is still not 100% understandable what's he saying

I believe Schreiber DOES speak some russian, he did so in other films as well
