Forging hunting knives, part 1 get the shirt at: teespring.com/... the knives are forged from 52100 high carbon steel. for ordering info mail: freerkwieringa@gmail.com
That intro where you tested the heat treat was one of the best tutorials I have seen. Your artistry is always top notch, but showing that detail was so impressive. Thank you. Your videos are one of my favorite entertainment
The shop improvements are wonderful. I think a chute that pulls out of the forge hood over the quench tank would be awesome. Like an upside down drawer that pulls out to collect the 😷 nasty 💨billowing white lung crushing smoke. Also a hinge on the normalizing tank! Make life easy man your career is hard enough 😆
Still using lime hey.... I have 30 years experience in heat treatment and vermiculite is orders of magnitude better and cleaner as I have told you before.
although I really admire your designs....I come to think that they are all a little to thick.....I mean, 7 to 4 mm is the general thickness....concerning my taste at least.... yours look great non the less, but I think they are all a little bit to....lets say clunky.. but keep up your designs, they look awesome :)
0GregorSchultz0 I’ll disagree. Nothing clunky about them. Yes, they could be a bit thinner, but without know what steel he’s using, and everything the customer wants to use them for, it’s a bit premature to question the design parameters or stylistic choices.
yeah clunky might be the wrong word, but you admit that they are a little thick....I guess bulky would have been a better word :D otherwise I agree with you

Sword la falcata please fantastic job
Damn Freerk, I get high on just watching you work.
Man, I dig
fantastic
Man, that belt grinder is moving fast! What speed do you run that at? You don’t find that you heat up the steel too quickly at those fast speeds?
it depends, if you press hard. most of the time i cool them regularly at higher speeds.
Man these look great I'm a bit of a hunter and I have to say I bet they can cut open a boars hide like crucible steel going through tamahagane
Is the bin of powder for your normalizing stage ??
Great work. Do you work with kydex material at all?
KoolStoryBreh no. I do prefer natural materials.
Awesome once again. Just out of curiosity, do you get many customers from this channel or do you have other means of advertising?
i use facebook and instagram, but most customers come from youtube viewers.
Freerk. What is that whit powder you put the red hot blade's in?
Mac Billing looks like maybe diatomaceous earth
Mac Billing he has said in the past it is lye. I do believe.
Freerk doesn't answer or give out any secrets
dart arkana he has answered me several times. And he SHOWS his secrets.
