Thank you very much! It's just cool they kept the unique modules. LED retrofits surely save so much money over new modules entirely, especially if they're shut away when showing red.
Great video and crossing! Wasn't there also a camera fitted to the crossing with an E2S alarm on it previously as well? The MWL heads there kinda look like repurposed wayside signals. EDIT: Nevermind, I see it's still there, lol.
Probably not exactly. Technically it's still a footpath crossing, albeit with electric gates that kind-of work in a 'Manually Controlled Barrier' kind of way.
There was a full road crossing till they built a bridge but had to keep a foot crossing for less able people , But people being people would ignore the lights and cross the track even though there was a train in the station or approaching , one such person was a mother pushing a push chair 🤬👿 Do a search I’m sure the video is on YT some where
I can definitely see how it was once a road crossing with roads on both sides that strangely curve away from the tracks now. I remember that clip well, and it's surely still out there somewhere.
Some Excellent Shots and Videos! 👍🏻👍🏻 Nice to still have these lights but could see the actual bulbs which are LEDs now.

@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Yeah I agree 👍🏻
Great video!
Thanks very much!
Imagine you've just crossed then that gate shuts just as you make it to the other side. Nice video and unique crossing
Lol
At least it's a manned gate, so I think presuming the attendant hasn't dozed off, they may be able to open it manually.
@@yabbaguy Ah ok, didn't know it was manned actually
@@yabbaguy it is manned I saw them when I was there
Thanks! Indeed, the gates are manually controlled by a crossing attendant who will only shut them if the area is clear.
I never knew the lights blinked also nice vid of him honking 👍
Thank you! They don't really. The lights only appear to fade on camera due to the shutter speed.
Excellent video and Catches 👍
Thanks very much!
Nice one a very unique crossing!
Thank you very much! It certainly is
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings your welcome!
Nice i went here not long ago the day before the XC Railtour (that i went on after this day)
Ah, nice
Are the lights supposed to fade in and out?
They don't really, it's just a 'strobe effect' involving the camera's shutter speed and the current fed to the lights.
Great video! I was early😁
Thanks!

What would you call this? Automatic full gated crossing locally monitored?
Probably not exactly. Technically it's still a footpath crossing, albeit with electric gates that kind-of work in a 'Manually Controlled Barrier' kind of way.
