As well as the single skyrail to keep the line open to Epping, LXRA installed temporary rail lines on the Carrum project, and at the Werribee road bridge for the ANL freight line only, They will do the same at Parkdale.
Mont Albert Station and Surrey Hills Station both closed permanently on 17th February 2023 to remove the 2 dangerous and congested level crossings. And the new Union Station opened on 22nd of May.
I love how you aren't afraid to talk politics. Dan wont remove anything on the Sandy line or many on the GW line (Glenferrie Road comes to mind) because those areas don't vote Labor. Great Video.
WAAIT... THE OCCOS ON THE HURTSBDIDGE LINE R GETTING UPGRADED? Btw congrats to 1k sub, btw I didn't know how about the removal of the highway crossing in Lynbrook
The first one was Laburnum. We got a mecano set station that is cracking. Very poor planning for the disabled and still waiting for the car park to be finsihedand disabled parking to be provided. The station is not covered and the station does not have the ramps to help the disabled to enter train. Drivers must delay train to help. Locals have planted gardens as it caught on fire and dug up by fire brigade. many elderly now stay on the blackburn train and return so they do not have to walk over 3 lengths of paths to go from one side to the other. the later stations are better.
Sure the projects are good for the transport side of things new station more services some cases extra recreational space, but they bring so many problems to the communities say behaviour of the workers they don’t treat residents or small business very well take Mont Albert a quiet place that wouldn’t ever make the news until the baker head butted and the fish n chip shop intimidated The project affects local businesses without compensation customer numbers are down Limited parking spots A lot of the project is kept secret Trees removed Liked the video btw very interesting
I can agree with not giving businesses enough compensation, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert is a good example of this yes, especially with the fact it’s basically split the 2 sides of the rail line apart, like I’d you want to go to a supermarket close by on the Southside, you’d go to like Middle Camberwell because Surrey Hills local isn’t really accessible. A reason it’s much harder for the Mont Albert area is also because it’s a long closure and it’s much more on the residential side of things compared to a location like Pakenham which is a tad more in the industrial side of things (even know it’s in a suburban setting still.) With the trees going, I’m pretty sure LXRA have a policy where they have to plant 4x as many trees as they cut down, or at least something along the lines of that
Awesome video packed with engaging information. Nicely presented and narrated too. Congratulations on this huge milestone. Well deserved! :)
Thanks!!!

Tazzy, I have a question? What exact year was Western point Highway removed?
At 3:27, it should say on the GW line "there are 3 crossings being removed". The other crossing due to be removed is Glenferrie Road
That project was cancelled, and it wasn't a part of the LXRP
Well in October 2022, Dan announced that an additional three level crossing on the GW line would be in charge of removal
oh no i missed your stream 😢
should have seen this coming from 'the level crossings youtuber'
Lol

Grade Separation Project is a Good Idea to Ease Congestions but it’s Very Expensive to Eliminate Every Single At Grade Crossing.
