Hi, Sally! We were wondering how you were, which led us to discovering your RUclips channel. Glad to see you're doing so well. And guess what? I’m from Auburn, NY! What led you to the Finger Lakes area? In the 18th century, central NY was known as "the lunatic fringe" because of all the progressive ideas fomenting there, including women's rights. Rod Serling's production company was Cayuga Productions, which produced "The Twilight Zone." He had a home on Cayuga Lake. I have his autograph! I never met him, but I knew his aunt. Also, I wrote an interactive play for 4th graders that has Matilda Joslyn Gage as the main character. She was a champion of women’s rights and is featured in the Women's Rights National Historical Park. The play toured throughout NY state for several years. Matilda had a son-in-law in upstate NY who enjoyed telling stories to the neighborhood kids. Matilda encouraged him to write the stories down. The guy was L. Frank Baum. The stories became “The Wizard of Oz.” Matilda was the inspiration for Glinda.
Hi Rick! Those are some cool fun facts! So glad you found me. I lived in the Finger Lakes area before moving to CA and I also have some nomad friends from Trumansburg. I have been working my way through geographical extremes from Lebanon, KS to the North of ME, and down to Key West. Still in FL but beginning to work my way back west.
Enjoy the history you bring to your channel.
Thanks! I enjoy exploring history!
Women keep moving forward.
Mostly! And that’s a good thing!

Splooged ? Hmmm. Gotta love new words! lol ❤ I loved the exhibits. Let’s hope we never slide backwards as far as some wish we would.
It is a word that makes you think! And let’s hope we avoid going backwards.
