I mean like 10 years ago I wanted to end my life and I never thought I would be here today and here I am. I would tell myself keep going because It’s sooo worth it. You are enough and you always have been enough. This is your life so live it the way you want. Make your life worth living. I recognized that I didn’t want to end my life I just didn’t want the life I was living so I had to change something. And I would tell myself don’t take time for granted because life can be short so you have to spend time with your loved ones. One of my childhood friends died last year of cancer at the age of 25… just keep going and you will find your way through everything 😊I wish everyone a great day and I am so proud of you all!
This video was extra beautiful. Just a perfect amount of everything, the amazingness of NYC and friends and kittens and running and the voiceover. It was poetic, really! And the beach! So many people don’t know about our amazing beaches. I always say I grew up in Brooklyn and that’s why I’m such a beach girl. I was at Riis today and it was glorious.

Walk away and never look back. 2) Stick with people whose hearts are kind, eyes are open and lives are balanced. 3) Avoid drama; if you have a problem figure it out in a level-headed way. If someone else has a problem; help when you can, but think it through first. Because maybe, (just maybe), they brought it on themselves and nothing you do will fix it or them.
I adopted two puppy brothers around the time that you brought Deli home let me just say, you're handling the new mom anxiety way better than me! The kitties seem so happy and just totally at home and letting their personalities blossom!
I can't believe how much the kittens have grown ❤️ So glad they are feeling at home now! Once they get about 6 months old their lil stomachs settle down and you will notice the difference. Right now they will have spells of diarrhea and horrific smelling gas and that's ok 😂 I promise it gets better and your apartment will smell clean again very soon!
I had to skip a few videos when the kittens came along. My 3 year old baby, Delilah, went missing when I moved from Portland to Tualatin in April, it was just too painful to watch. Seeing my ten year old cat mourn the baby he had raised is utterly heartbreaking. Love these videos of you out and about though!
I have had several cats with the kitty version of IBS and various food allergies. I found that raw food (they finally settled on frozen Stella & Chewy patties) really helped firm up the poop and even eliminated a ton of the stink. Just my experience!
I second raw food or lightly cooked with a completer like ez-complete! The kibble also makes them poop more (it's mostly carbs and fillers, even the 'good' stuff) and makes them dehydrated.

I wish I had moved out of my hometown like you did. Also to take better care of myself and not be the weight I am today. But I'm at least trying to work on my health and I'm getting a passport. Chelsea, don't let your Vet. let you become a slave to feeding the kitties. Anytime you switch food with a kitty, it will cause some diarrhea. While some kitty's do have food issues, I highly doubt your kittens do. It is quite rare with non-specific breeds. Vet. Tech here with several years of experience and several rescue kitties.
Our vet had told us something similar. To switch foods, you need to do it gradually. Weirdly, she said to do the same thing when switching litter. It’s all a learning experience!

(I have to comment this, because it resonates very much) - Chelsea Callahan: "In school I would think about leaving the small town I was in, I would even dream about people I haven't met yet in all sorts of places I didn't even know existed. What actually mattered to me was when was my life going to begin. This is a little abstract, but I wonder sometimes if the decisions I made as a kid and a young teen were guided by the intuition my older self helping me become who I was supposed to be. If the two versions of myself could meet, I think I want to tell younger Chelsea first - 'You'll like tomatoes eventually', second - 'It's okay if what you want is inconvenient for others', and third - 'Veer onto the road less travelled sooner rather than later, and don't look back'. When there was heat waves in NYC people use to go to the FairWay on 125st on the westside near the highway. To cool off in the big walkin freezer but sadly no more FairWay.
I am so happy for you that you got 2 cats! It is better for tem even if they fight a little they still have so much fun! 😊I am mom of two cats 🐈⬛ 🐈 One was adopted from VBspca and younger one I found in garage. I use to have 2 litter box for each cat , but couple of months ago I got robot cat litter and they are share it surprisingly.

I honestly don't feel that fulfilled by life, and going into my 50s I feel like I could have done so much more. I just wish I would have pushed myself more and ventured a little further. Also w my 2 sibling kitties I used to feed them next to each other. Usually rite before I left for work. Then noticed "Biggie" was getting BIG...so I started watching them eat. Biggie is the Alpha and was also bumping his lil bro out of his own food so lil guy was getting food paranoia. So now I feed the in separate rooms. But ore than a couple ties (even today) Little Guy finished first and went over to Biggie and shoved his face into his bowl. Hilarious.

I've never lived in New York, but I did live in the Chicago metro for a good 20 years, so I relate to your urban experiences. New Yawk, yer new apt, bein a kitten Mom, 100K subs, your running, goin outta yer comfort zone, your good friends, your doin yer self care, your amazing work ethic with your channel … it ALL looks GREAT on you, Love ! Congrats & cheers to your BEST Life !! Congrats on making it Official with Deli, tooo !! Stand your ground w the food , hun ! Esp w Gordo. I’m not projecting ; just sharing so you can learn from it … my sweet Sunnie was a huge stripey fluffy Maine Coon boy. Also neutered, of course : at around age six months. He was naturally a big boy, but he also eventually put on weight. Got diabetes in the last four years of his life. I gave him top quality insulin twice / day ( under a vet’s care, of course) , upgraded his food ( to Wellness brand canned food , plus weruva , & N&D crunchy food … all grain free. Even tho his original food was always pretty darn good. But I had no clue about doing “grain free”. ). Anyhoo, despite our massive efforts, his glucose never did regulate. I didn't go CRAZY feeding him excessively in the years leading up to his diagnosis at age 11, but … I couldn't say no ! And he WOULD ask for more, like Gordo. Ya gotta say no ! So keep up the great work with that & stay strong. You maaaaaaaaay also wanna wait even an extra month or 2 past age 6 mo to neuter Gordo ? I have no idea : I’m not a vet ! But … that may influence his ultimate size being even bigger … so he can then afford an extra pound or 2 over time. Or not. ( cuz u def don't want him spraying , or jumping Deli !) Just an idea. What a super. Summer day you had ! And what a trooper you are to have endured running in a down pour !! PS my daughter & I love mango lassies , tooo ! Yumm !!
I have two cats in a condo and I swear by flushable tofu litter - even if you don't flush it and just scoop and dispose, it is SO good at neutralizing smells and my babies love it. My building's handyman was over fixing something and was like "I have a cat, I need to know what you use because you cannot tell at all that you have cats"! The best compliment ever for a cat owner lol!
Even tho it says it's flushable, it's not advised for your septic system or for the planet. I especially wouldn't flush litter in an old NYC building. Cats smell and that's ok 😅
Oh man, what a trip! I lived in Jackson Heights back in... the late 90s. Wow. Yup. I'm old. In a lot of ways, it hasn't changed, and that's pretty cool to see.
Wow, the video editing at and around the 18:00 minute mark, where you've asked collectively about meeting your past self and advising them in a certain way paired extremely well with the view of the dimming boardwalk and even more so driving within view of the steel bridge while looking at yourself in the car's side-view mirror. It's almost as if you're reaching out across the water over the bridge through time (as the sun sets) and are trying to communicate with a former self somehow - it's a very vivid and evocative scene. Also, the music you dubbed into the scene helps one to reminisce in the way that I described (at least I think it does). Bravo, and good luck with the 9+1 series; I'm glad running with friends is going well!

Omjeeeps walkin around w you to the NYRR Center n Whole Foods is hitting me w THE FACT THAT I MISS ALL OF THAT SO MUUUUUUCH! I used to go for my Long Runs, then hose off n change at NYRR, take some pics of flowers n trees in CP, sometimes go into Zara to try on clothes I didn't needn't couldn't afford, then go to Whole Foods to get a Belgian Beer to either drink in Sheep's Meadow n chill or take home. They have the BEST beer selection at WF!
To my younger self I would say "What you do now is enough. You are a great person already and you decerve to be loved. You don`t need to be the best one in everything"

What I would say to my younger self: You are allowed to take breaks. You don't have to do everything on your own. You're not too sensitive. Your feelings are very okay. You can leave whenever you want. You can change your mind. And: your wishes are sometimes incompatible with those of others, but that doesn't make them any less important.
Don't be afraid of change and go to school to become an OR nurse. Didn't want to spend the money. That is what I would be told my 16 year old self. Too late now st 66.

My last 9 + 1 journey was in 2009. And I SWEAR it rained EVERY SINGLE RACE except 1 where it was SO hot they took the timer down bc they didn't want ppl dropping like flies. It became a Fun Run but still counted as a Qualifier. Running in the rain is worse than running in snow imo. But anyway props on another Finish!!!

I spent some time thinking what i would tell my younger self, but to be honest i still feel like i am my younger self right now and maybe i have good advice for me when im older. Love the outdoor element this week. Your running is great, even with all the rain. It’s a big practical lesson re the salsa, you’ll only do this once…lol. I use to have 2 litter box for each cat , but couple of months ago I got robot cat litter and they are share it surprisingly.

Love watching your videos! I think I would tell myself to move after college. I feel like I missed out on more potential. I honestly don't feel that fulfilled by life, and going into my 50s I feel like I could have done so much more. I just wish I would have pushed myself more and ventured a little further. OMG those cats are just too damn cute !!!
Also w my 2 sibling kitties I used to feed them next to each other. Usually rite before I left for work. Then noticed "Biggie" was getting BIG...so I started watching them eat. Biggie is the Alpha and was also bumping his lil bro out of his own food so lil guy was getting food paranoia. So now I feed the in separate rooms. But ore than a couple ties (even today) Little Guy finished first and went over to Biggie and shoved his face into his bowl. Hilarious.

I've never lived in New York, but I did live in the Chicago metro for a good 20 years, so I relate to your urban experiences. Thanks for letting us into your life, and thanks for sharing your new cats with us!

Congrats & cheers to your BEST Life !! Congrats on making it Official with Deli, tooo !! Stand your ground w the food , hun ! Esp w Gordo. I’m not projecting ; just sharing so you can learn from it … my sweet Sunnie was a huge stripey fluffy Maine Coon boy. Also neutered, of course : at around age six months. He was naturally a big boy, but he also eventually put on weight. Got diabetes in the last four years of his life. I gave him top quality insulin twice / day ( under a vet’s care, of course) , upgraded his food ( to Wellness brand canned food , plus weruva , & N&D crunchy food … all grain free. Even tho his original food was always pretty darn good. But I had no clue about doing “grain free”. ). Anyhoo, despite our massive efforts, his glucose never did regulate. I didn't go CRAZY feeding him excessively in the years leading up to his diagnosis at age 11, but … I couldn't say no ! And he WOULD ask for more, like Gordo. Ya gotta say no ! So keep up the great work with that & stay strong.
You maaaaaaaaay also wanna wait even an extra month or 2 past age 6 mo to neuter Gordo ? I have no idea : I’m not a vet ! But … that may influence his ultimate size being even bigger … so he can then afford an extra pound or 2 over time. Or not. ( cuz u def don't want him spraying , or jumping Deli !) Just an idea.

I have two cats in a condo and I swear by flushable tofu litter - even if you don't flush it and just scoop and dispose, it is SO good at neutralizing smells and my babies love it. My building's handyman was over fixing something and was like "I have a cat, I need to know what you use because you cannot tell at all that you have cats"! The best compliment ever for a cat owner lol!
Even tho it says it's flushable, it's not advised for your septic system or for the planet. I especially wouldn't flush litter in an old NYC building. Cats smell and that's ok 😅

Oh man, what a trip! I lived in Jackson Heights back in... the late 90s. Wow. Yup. I'm old. In a lot of ways, it hasn't changed, and that's pretty cool to see.
Wow, the video editing at and around the 18:00 minute mark, where you've asked collectively about meeting your past self and advising them in a certain way paired extremely well with the view of the dimming boardwalk and even more so driving within view of the steel bridge while looking at yourself in the car's side-view mirror. It's almost as if you're reaching out across the water over the bridge through time (as the sun sets) and are trying to communicate with a former self somehow - it's a very vivid and evocative scene. Also, the music you dubbed into the scene helps one to reminisce in the way that I described (at least I think it does). Bravo, and good luck with the 9+1 series; I'm glad running with friends is going well!
Omjeeeps walkin around w you to the NYRR Center n Whole Foods is hitting me w THE FACT THAT I MISS ALL OF THAT SO MUUUUUUCH! I used to go for my Long Runs, then hose off n change at NYRR, take some pics of flowers n trees in CP, sometimes go into Zara to try on clothes I didn't needn't couldn't afford, then go to Whole Foods to get a Belgian Beer to either drink in Sheep's Meadow n chill or take home. They have the BEST beer selection at WF!

What I would say to my younger self: You are allowed to take breaks. You don't have to do everything on your own. You're not too sensitive. Your feelings are very okay. You can leave whenever you want. You can change your mind. And: your wishes are sometimes incompatible with those of others, but that doesn't make them any less important.
Don't be afraid of change and go to school to become an OR nurse. Didn't want to spend the money. That is what I would be told my 16 year old self. Too late now st 66.

My last 9 + 1 journey was in 2009. And I SWEAR it rained EVERY SINGLE RACE except 1 where it was SO hot they took the timer down bc they didn't want ppl dropping like flies. Love the outdoor element this week. Your running is great, even with all the rain. It’s a big practical lesson re the salsa, you’ll only do this once…lol. Going to the beach is fabulous and lovely to see you with friends and laughing ❤. You must feel so much better in yourself these days. And the secret is, it’s on,y one day at a time for all of us.
