Or is it a Master stroke of strategy. You have rampant pysker mutations on almost every world and no where near the resources to deal with it. Magnus is dangerous and a clever opponent. Provide a beacon to draw and route out tzeench corruption and pull in the psyker taint and then once enough have been drawn into it you close the noise and annihilate two problems in one go.
It's interesting to see that due to the multi purpose nature of Gulliman he runs parallel to many of his brothers. We always say that he has a rivalry with Lorgar and being the opposite counterpart of him but besides from Magnus he is probably the only primarch who loves to collect pieces of knowledge. Coupled with the brilliant strategic mind, Gulliman could easily be Tzeench the second pick behind Magnus has he been more corruptible.
The problem with that is that his small, concentrated power base keeps growing and will start moving at some point. Its the octarius war all over again.
Gulliman has so many fires to put out already, so it's a matter of triage at this point. If he does know then it means a matter of gathering the resources to remove his brother and means working with resources horribly stretched so thin. Now the Lion running around will free Gulliman to do more. Time will tell.
We have a story coming to fruition about the King in Yellow that has with him a very psychic heavy crew. Maybe he was told by the Emperor to wait for Valdore. Searching for the Emperor true name does feel like something to counter the efforts of Magnus.
I believe it’s because of resources. The imperium is being assaulted on all sides directly. He needs to keep troops there holding everything back. At the same time maintaining what the imperium already has. Magnus would take a lot of resources to be taken care of. Meaning the imperium would lose ground elsewhere and with the great rift the imperium can’t afford to get any smaller. While Magnus is rebuilding he’s not a direct threat and gulliman is probably waiting for Magnus to show his hand before deciding how to act
Idk what Guilliman's plans are, but I kind of hope they hold off on addressing Magnus until Jaghatai Khan returns. He was the last person to see Magnus (his spirit shard anyway) as he was on Prospero, so it would be fitting for him to return there to face Magnus again in his ascended form.

Guilliman is dealing with the remnants of Mortarian's war. The new Hive fleet tendril, and also the Necrons. Plus countless GeneStealers making issues on planets. I bet he plans to but is trying to finish other things first.
I was looking at a map and noticed that Prospero and The Planet of Sorcerers are fairly close to the Great Rift and more specifically, the Maelstrom. Considering the power of Magnus and Chaos being ascendant, wouldn't it be possible to somehow expand the Rift? Also, after his experience dealing with Mortarion, he may actually be a little afraid to go after Magnus, who would be a more powerful enemy in his home territory.
I wonder if Magnus wants to capture the black throne? If so maybe Guilliman is leaving him alone on the advice of the Aeldari? I think Magnus vs some sort of unified Aeldari webway war for the dark throne would be cool and explain why the imperium is sort of ignoring both factions currently.
You mean, will he face Magnus AGAIN? Cause he fought him on Luna when he tried to return to Terra. I think Magnus is definitely a threat but he is a relatively small threat to the Imperium directly. He's got a tiny empire that isn't aggressively expanding at the moment. Literally almost every faction is more a threat than him, at this moment at least. Edit: You mentioned the Terran crusade after my comment. But I still think it's triage. Magnus just isn't a big threat to the Imperium as a whole. No where near as much of a problem as Mortarion, the Necrons, the nids, etc.
Its simple numbers, Magnus isn't attacking him at the moment. Guilliman can afford to contain him in his small sub sector. While entire sectors worth of resources and armies are under attack by well everything. Do you use what little you have on an opponent with unknown strength, but not doing anything yet? Or contain him, while not directly engaging him, so that you can save forces and resources from across the galaxy. So when the time comes you are prepared to end the threat of Magnus for good. Their is reason Dorn thought Guilliman was better overall leader of the Imperium than himself. Guilliman has the patience required for dealing with the big picture. Even saving Ultramar from Mortrian was about saving the power base there for his moves elsewhere, not just about saving his home. Hell in the final HH novels we see Khorne making a play for Dorn. We have never seen any of the Chaos even bother to sway Guilliman. Even Fulgrim was shocked Guilliman could resist the Crown of Glories so easily. Ironically it might be better if the Lion faces Magnus, since he has the pyskic might to endure him.
@CountDVB He literally walked between worlds and acquired the Emperor's Sheild after fighting simulacra of his brothers in a psychic dream representation of Caliban. He has also made contact with Dante' and the Blood Angels. The Chapter's Chief Librarian Mephiston could aid Lion el Johnson in crossing the great rift.
I kinds think it's a plot twist. The King in yellow is collecting an army of blanks. I just kinda feel like they might be the guys to take on Prospero when GW is looking for a new plot line. Why waste so many rare, blanks on a massive military front, thousands of wide...deep. Whatever, when you could use them all on the world collecting psychers. Your gonna kinda need as many as you can get, to have a chance. Especially with Magnus leading the way. This is just my theory.
That whole fight reminded me of a newb starting a souls game and dying… over and over… badly… many, many MANY times… but getting a little better each time and he eventually wore him down and won. It was after he already took down the Emperor’s shield, but he did it. A battle between them with Magnus not splitting his focus would be interesting.
Guilliman is busy with the Nids. I was sure that was common knowledge. Besides rhe Nids, the awakening of fhe Necrons and Abaddon are also a problem. Hes potentially not adding Magnus as high up on Priority as he should, but the Nids are certainly the greater current threat. Id rank it Nids, Psykers, then Necrons, then Abaddon, then Orks. I dont see Dukhari a big threat currently. Aeldari is a priority in rhe sense of repairing and establishing a solid alliance in the Galaxy. I feel with Guilliman this would be possible. I feel El' Johnson potentially has a link of admirers in the Tau, so they could be pulled in as well. Also the squats.
Magnus is a major threat, but one that cannot just be handled by throwing bodies at it. Guilliman has only 4 groups to handle it, 1 Gray Knights, 2 Space Wolfs, 3 Sister of Silence, and 4 Custodies. To gather enough forces to both take out Magnus and destroy Prospero will require major commitments of forces from all 4 groups. While a major threat Magnus if contained in one location, it is possable to use those forces to deal with other threats and more locations. So Guilliman is looking at the big picture and seeing that he can sacrifice one system and leave Magnus alone, while securing other and setting up the situation and forces to deal with Magnus later.

He's not a Daemon he's a Primarch. He's just been amped up with warp energy. Plus remember during the War in The Webway Big E had Drachnya in his hands and couldn't kill it only contain it.
Honestly I think Gulliman is playing into the arrogance of Magnus. By letting Magnus think he has the upper hand, it could cause him to make a mistake he normally wouldnt. Kind of like Garo with Mortarian.
Poor G-man is like a firefighter stuck in the middle of forest fire with an extinguisher and people arr complaining he hasnt put out one bush. The said G-Man could use a W after his L's.
This might be a way to return Magnus if not to Imperium weaken the Tzeentch's hold on him. We know in the story of Rylanor Magnus is TO THIS DAY trying to find a solution to Heresy. TS sorcerer talks about how much desperation Magnus has in this matter. God I hope GW stops screwing Magnus over and stop making people who obviously despise him write him. There was a line in...the one where that little girl died a feather of golden helped them? guilliman wasn't sure if it was the Emperor or Magnus...something to thought about.
Didnt G man basically leave thr crusade he was on cause morty was in his precious ultrimar sure 500 worlds is a lot but magnus is just outside sol so unless big E is awake enough that magnus is staying put or he a lot weaker then normal after yanking a whole planet out the warp
Hope not. Its Leman and Veldor's stupidity caused this. But considering GW cannot write smart characters for shit unless they are necrons and obviously despise Magnus and cannot stop sucking Loyalist and Space wolves in particular's dicks I wouldn't be suprised.
I hope not, because itd probably be something lame like Magnus challenges him to a melee duel for no reason and loses because the God Emperor steps in at the last moment.
He won’t, the wolves and….. the lion with his redeemed sons. Why, because the history. Or they can take the easy route with Vulkan and the wolves ( I would be pissed). This will allow the reprieve for Valdor/Russ to do what is needed to heal the emperors mind. Not getting him off the throne but healing him. This will allow him to easily contact and fight in both realms. The big E will not get off the Throne until chaos is defeated not for good but reducing there power to not matter as much anymore then…… the ghoul stars rip open and a real tangible threat comes out. The big E resurrects the angel and manus. The board is reset and we get a story to 80k

Magnus can't be a big threat when Mephiston is around
Don't be stupid. If Mephiston is stupid enough to fight Magnus. He will die.
The elephant in the room is the tyranids
Maybe he might just try some fucking diplomacy. Aghast I know.
Prospero could maybe possibly be the imperium's Turkey.
If magnus wanted a fight with g-man all he had to do was bring prospero to ultramar, it worked for mortarion.
It'd be funny if each Chaos God's champion just brought their God's realm to ultramar only for Bobby G to torch it
This might be a way to return Magnus if not to Imperium weaken the Tzeentch's hold on him.
Unless The Emperor has said that he will deal with him later! 🧐🙂
Didnt G man basically leave thr crusade he was on cause morty was in his precious ultrimar sure 500 worlds is a lot but magnus is just outside sol so unless big E is awake enough that magnus is staying put or he a lot weaker then normal after yanking a whole planet out the warp
Isn't Magnus's soul already gone anyway?
It'll stick till Valdor and Russ return together having collected their Spears.
Bash Bro's going to wreck Magnus.
Hope not. Its Leman and Veldor's stupidity caused this. But considering GW cannot write smart characters for shit unless they are necrons and obviously despise Magnus and cannot stop sucking Loyalist and Space wolves in particular's dicks I wouldn't be suprised.
Magnus was killed by Vulca during the end of the Horus Heresy.
I hope not, because itd probably be something lame like Magnus challenges him to a melee duel for no reason and loses because the God Emperor steps in at the last moment.
No he has done faced down Morty.. Russ will make a comeback to body ole red man
He already beat his ass once
Give the others a chance
He won’t, the wolves and….. the lion with his redeemed sons. Why, because the history. Or they can take the easy route with Vulkan and the wolves ( I would be pissed).
Edit- yes, Russ will bring magnus to the throne with Valdor to get heal the big E in a way. They will bind magnus to the hole he made killing him for all extents and purposes.
Guilliman is leaving Magnus alone so GW can bring back Russ lol
Chapter 666...Time for the Grey Knights and the Sisters of Silence...next stop Prospero!!
Magnus is the bigest primarch.
Why didn’t the Imperium obliterate that planet so there was nothing there to reclaim.
Because it hasn't existed in the material realm for nigh on 10.000 years.
@@ditmarvanbelle1061 interesting.
I wasn’t aware that they destroyed it.
The Kahn and Mortarion fought there after Magnus lost to the wolves. Perhaps something happens to in during The Scouring but I would have thought they’d just destroy it
Ok, hear me out.
Guilliman - X
Magnus - Zero
:3?
theres more primarchs coming. most certainly Russ, just send russ to spank Magnus. Again.
He literally won by a lucky shot. I don't know how people can delude themselves that Russ was winning in their fight. 😂
Sorry but Magnus would absolutely destroy G-man lol
You give WAY to much credit to Robute gulieman 😂
It's called force plot narrative, aka bad writing.
Well last time the Grey Knights and Dark Angels sent 100 marines each and summoned Kaldor Drago...
It wasn't enough.
Wish you’d talk faster. Talking slow sorta feels off
Girlyman is a Mary Sue and a bigot with a lot of plot armour - complete boring
Gulliman will attack prospero, for whatever reason, things will go shit for him....Russ turns up with his Wolves of fenris, and tears shit up. Fuck yeah!
they should have just exterminatused prospero from the start
