As a profoundly deaf person who also knows the written lyrics to this song (thanks to my 7-year old son who thinks it's hi-lar-ious), I am so thrilled that you did this in a way that I can follow the song! I love that you interpreted the music, the expressions that showed the staccato, the dimensional signing that showed the voice pitch. SO TERRIFIC! Do not let one of those Militant Interpreters discourage you - I'm sure if I saw this in a typical ASL fashion that didn't include any mouthing of the actual words and intentionally stayed a second behind the music, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it or follow the lyrics. You did a really terrific job. (This is coming from a deaf person who danced in a professional ballet company - I know the importance of staying on the beat and being able to hold the rhythm. Otherwise in this case, your deaf viewer will be clapping and responding belatedly with the rest of the crowd). Props to you on the terrific coordination!
Amber this is awesome!!! I am in interpreter training currently and my boyfriend of eight years is deaf. I just showed him this video and he finally understands fully why our girls annoyed me listening to over and over and over thousands of times. You are a master of being bilingual and interpreting. Love your passion and drive for the Deaf community.
Interpreter student: I was watching this over a classmates shoulder (who had on head phones) so setting it with no audio, i immediately was able to pick up on the song, and the vibe, and could "hear" the sound effects. So i agree it's spot on. obviously there can be many INTERPRETATIONS that doesn't take anything away from this talent
My son is non verbal and mild hearing loss do we are learning sign and my daughter found these songs then I found you. This video was a great break from learning and gave us some great fun. She is now invested in learning songs from you. ❤ thank you
In one of my ASL classes or Interpreting classes, we started discussing how someone would interpret this song when it first came out. I think you did WONDERFULLY!! I think you definitely got the point across for this crazy song. It's great to see that profoundly deaf people understood and loved it too! Keep up the good work! (Definitely subscribing!)
This is fantastic! I saw the title and was so curious how you'd sign the "fox sounds". As always, you didn't disappoint. Great job with showing pitch, vibrato, and amount of staccato!
I never comment on stuff, but wow, you deserve some serious praise. I'm sharing in hopes this puppy goes viral! Honey, thank you for doing what you do so well!
I just spent an hour with my husband watching all of your videos, and we are completely captivated. It is now our fervent desire that you record so many more of these! Seriously, I want to come to a concert you're interpreting, just to watch you! Fantastically entertaining, and so thoroughly thought out. Creep was my favorite because your range of emotion is so dead on for what is being conveyed in tone of voice. Keep up the great work!
Amazing job!! I emailed my ASL teacher your youtube channel and we both think you are so amazing and inspiring. I can't wait to watch more videos you put up!
Only this magic woman can interpret and perform a conceptually accurate song full of sounds into a visual language. I can't with her talent. So amazing
I have heard this song a million times and loveit . well watching this I turned the volume you off and still got the same fun vibe! You are amazing at what you do!
I thought it was fan-friggin-tastic! There ARE youtubes videos of this song by others which were painfully uncomfortable to watch....but Amber is amazing.
Your interpretation was AMAZING!!!! I´m from Costa Rica, i´m lerning english but also Costa Rican Sign Language, so this is a perfect mix. The signs are not always the same as in my country, but they are very helpful. PURA VIDA!!!!
Just wanted you to know my 4 year old loves this song and I will only let her watch this video. She is trying to copy the signs. Its super cute. We are both hearing people learning sign! Just wanted you to know even years later people are enjoying this.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was discussing this song in one of my interpreting classes, talking about how one would interpret it, I was told it couldn't be done (to which i disagreed). I attempted this had similar thoughts but couldn't get it to all fit right. This was amazing to watch thank you again :)
I used to hate this song it annoyed me but seeing it in asl puts a new light on it for me made me think of people and what if we didn't have language as a lot of us don't but I love it now thank you for your translations
I love this! I'm currently a senior in high school and have been learning Asl for about two years and the only problem I have with it is PSE! I don't know why it's so hard for me to understand but great video! I love all of them!
Love your song interpretations! I know a young Deaf girl whose class singed What does the fox say? In their school show in Dec. Since the show she's always ask what does the Fox say? and laughing when she sings it I can't wait to show her your video!
The only bad thing i can say, lose the earrings. Interpreters should not be wearing jewelry that swings around the face so much, pretty distracting. Otherwise, awesome for song signing.

Thank you for this response. Beautifully stated!!!
Oh my word! This is hilarious! You Absolutely embodied the ridiculousness the song/video meant to portray. True interpretation at it's best!
I FINALLY heard the entire song, thanks to your stellar interpretation! Thank you!
Awesome!! Thank you

hi sweety couple questions first are u deaf second what would I type in to find more asl covers of songs
She isn't deaf, and you can find more ASL covers simply by typing the song and "ASL" after it, that's what I do
Found the videos doeo u think searching for a deaf/hoh girl as a friend is wrong because I have been told it's unacceptable in the deaf/hoh community
omw Amber i love you your my fav
