I’m having a hard time removing my handle and I’m fighting with it, so I’m here. Thanks for this
Happy to help!
Well. Had the same problem with the build up and the stuck faucet knob. Thought I'd try the heat up method before moving on. I used a candle lighter to heat the spot where the screw goes in. After heating it for about 2mins, tossed a rag over it and it pulled right off. Thanks man. I would have saved 30min if I looked at your video first.👍🏼
So glad it was helpful!!
I guess I will that now lol
Great advice about leaving a screw in the handle. Thanks!
lol "Well, I ain't got no hairdryer" I'm still laughing! This is awesome! Very helpful.... and funny too! You sound like 99% of the men out there.
This has me dying hahahaha
Glad you enjoyed it!

To remove my stuck turn knob. I boiled some hot water in a whistling tea kettle. I then connected a funnel to a cut off water hose. I put one part of the hose behind the turn knob and poured the hot water from the kettle through the funnel down into the tube. That loosened the turn knob.
I also did this to loosen the stem where it was connected.
Wow, from the comments there's a lot of people having this problem, myself included. Aside from the person with the stuck diverter knob, how many of you also have a stuck COLD water knob? ✋
I have three knobs, only one stuck was cold. Other two came off easy
Fixing to find out ... just starting the job here now.
Nice Job Mr Bills.....Thank You For Taking The Time To Do This Video
You are very welcome.
Nice video. I got a cartridge inside the faucet handle shower thats seized. You said hair dryer and I remembered my pvc heat gun 🤣
Thank you, sir! Your tips got the job done over here, and your vid gave me a few much-needed laughs during the project!
Glad I could help.
Thanks
Hearing the problems that come about and not just how to do it helps out
Thanks again
Thank you my man. This was exactly the things I needed to hear. Thanks so much.
You're very welcome
I am SO happy you got that knob off, now will you please come get mine off brotha! 😂😂😂
Ever make a video about changing batteries on your smoke detector?
As a plumber I just cut the back of the wall and change out the whole valve I don’t play with it! Or cut the tile and put a mistake plate 😮
Tip and trick of the trade.👍👍
Thanks so much for showing the parts. I was thinking of trying to make a puller like that.
Glad to help.
For anyone trying to get these things off for MONTHS like me: these crappy tools can work you just need to modify the design. Every single time I tried to turn the screw to make the arms pull the knob off the straight metal arms would slide off so I was fighting to keep the tool on the knobs and fighting to pull the knob off at the same time. Impossible! If you take some vice grips and slightly bend the tips of the arms inward so that they actually curve under and really grip the lip of the knob so they can't slip off it will pull it right off after a few cranks because that tension has no where else to go but where it should. Why the manufacturers don't design them like this I don't know!
Love this video and your story, hoping it'll help me get a stuck diverter knob off. Thanks!
Best video explaining this. On my 3rd weekend with mine
Had same problem. Stuck a thin metal rod in hole and hammered nope. Saw this tried heating it. Nope. Then sprayed Barbasol in all holes waited 15 minutes used hammer and metal pole in hole it came right off with a few more whacks. Fill hole with BARBASOL ALOE SHAVE CREAM wait 15 minutes. Try It! Worked for me. Shave Cream makes Calcium cake on junk brittle.
Interesting use of the shaving cream.
i have the same problem pretty much as your second knob where the calcium buildup has fused the knob to the small outlet pipe.. was also thinking of heating it with a hairdryer next ....i was trying WD40 and whacking it with a wrench but its on there real good...was also thinking of trying some decalcifier or the acid i use for my pool...thanks for the insight...
Looks like old Gerber handles and stems handles have long and short arbors. I used to break of handles replace all parts usually you can buy a kit
Thank you. I'm facing the same situation right now.
This was incredibly helpful!! Thank you!!
You're so welcome!
Wow man you had a hard time. Sometimes things happen like that lol. Nice video.
My current problem is with a stripped screw. I've tried an extractor but it's not helping. Have you learned anything new since this video for stripped screws? My knobs are similar to yours.
Super smart idea
Super helpful. Thank you!
So glad!
Thank you for the video!
Where did you get the puller?
Great video thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Cheers for the tips.
You bet!
My screw also stripped so I removed it with an extractor kit. Then I used the same faucet handle removal tool and it broke off in the handle.
Thanks for sharing.
Why is your smoke alarm chirping so much?
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!
How Do U Remove A Stuck Delta Shower Faucet Handle???? The Allen Wrench, Not Getting It???? Tried Vinegar, WD 40 Still Doesn't Turn
Not really sure, but I would try to heat it to break the corrosion. And pull.
Suggestions anyone, I would try to heat it, and pull.
thank you. where u get the extractor from ?
They sell at menards, home depot etc..
I didn’t have a blow torch or hair dryer. I ended up using WD-40.
Just replace the cartridges ( easier)
Didn't know how, 😂. My wife says I do long division.
I think the know still has to come off first though.
You didn’t show how the faucet handle gadget worked.
my handle is vertical tho can u help me
Anyone got any suggestions.
We have hard, hard water, so all the damn knobs are stuck. Ugh!
I used a heat gun and that didn't work. I had to squeeze in the back with a wrench and removed the whole damn thing. I never got the knob off, not even with a knob extractor, I ended up bending the tool. It took 5 hrs to remove and replace all 3 hot, cold, shower knobs, stem, seating, and diverter. No more leaks and looks nice.
Angel from The Bay
Glad you got it fixed!!
@@pcking2008 this give me hope I might one day get mine off
Show the work not the talk
Um, as stated, he did the work, then, reflecting on how difficult it was, decided to share the experience with others facing the same challenge.
