Every day plumbing repairs and installs featured all while my son CB2 the plumbing apprentice learns the trade. - Хобби
Turned 28 and am currently in school for plumbing. Found your channel and just wanted to say thank you. For someone who made a lot of dumb mistakes and just now started fixing life you really helped me settle on plumbing and I am learning a ton just from watching you! You are the only channel that i enabled notifications on.
Benjamin in da House!nnYo.....Im so stoked for you.....reach out any time my brother.....Great trade and it will keep ya busy. Where ya from?
Albuquerque new mexico sir. I may ask you a lot of questions over time, but i have two really pressing ones. Where is a good place to look for good priced plumbing tools and what are good brands to keep an eye out for? Kind of on a tight budget at the moment, but do not want to get super cheap quick to break tools. Next semester I start the hands on stuff and they have a very large list of tools so any suggestions would be amazing.
awesome...internet for sure. you can shop the easiest. Maybe yard sales or maybe your local plumber has stuff he dont even use. I have a hand tools in my shop just waiting to find a new home or truck. Check out my one vid about apprentice tools. Hit me up anytime Benjamin

Remember, keeping the customer happy does NOT always mean they are right. Treat their home like your own, respectful tone and attitude goes a long way.. Listen, explain, sometimes, they just want to be heard but remember you are the professional but you are human too so a stupid suggestion may not be as stupid has you first think. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are you a target for their angry, if they start yelling or cussing, give them warnings, CALL YOUR BOSS and if they do not stop, leave. If you BOSS says stay. Stay, unless it is physically unsafe, then find a new Boss.
Mr. Chuck, I am a genuine woman ... and I thank you for showing me how to fix the 3-way shower faucet in my old 1950s Ozarks farmhouse. Bless you.
get er done gal!!
Just a 21 year old DIYer looking to upgrade her shower knobs, and stumbled across this enjoyable video! Informational, helpful, and comedic 👏
Thank you and go get er done
That was an amazing job. Nearly the whole thing was knowing how to work around obstacles. I can see how an experienced plumber is important for all those "now what?" moments.
Glad you enjoyed it! So true. A real wrestling match. Thank you.
After dropping a nice little amount on various wrenches and pullers to remove parts of our tubs plumbing "the right way," I come across this video and my jaw dropped (in amazement) at how you got the job done with a couple of channel locks. I bow to your expertise at manhandling old pipes and your finesse in bringing everything back together so neatly.
so many of these under my belt for sure. thanks
Watch all your videos... I’ve been plumbing from 30 years and business owner... but the best part is you teaching your sons that’s what is most important 😍
That is awesome! i know you know the pain...Thanks B
Appreciate your informative and detailed video! I'm no plumber and work on auto stuff all day long, I found this job challenging and your video helped me out. Thanks!
Glad it helped! Plumb on brother.
Wow. Okay, I was concerned about our current vintage shower fixtures and how we were possibly going to replace them if they were screwed up since we've been having some issues. This video gave me SO much more confidence. I am now understanding how all these things work. Thanks a lot!
I just bought a house built in 1924 and the upstairs bathroom is leaking just like this one and I have to replace the whole valve so this is helping me a great deal thank you. I subscribed also 😃
I just acquired a bunch of rental properties and all six units are sitting with these old ass mixers and they all leak behind the wall and some have damaged the walls and floors. This video was very informative regarding a logical and straight forward repair for replacing this crap. Thank you Sir!
I've never seen that alternative to soldering! Great feature when there is water present!
Great job Chuck! I done so many of these, just like watching and anticipating your next moves, although I have never used the Propress, always did it the old timers way with the ol torch and solder. Learned everything from my Grandfather, no youtube back when I started!
I hear ya. I have done a ton also. Its still a lot of work.
Great tutorial. Can't wait to try out your methods on my 1950s tub shower.
Good luck! How you do?
Dude your awesome listening to the sound you make while your working reminds me of my grandfather he use to make the same noises 😂🤣😂🤣 thanks for the video
plumbing can be painful....like yoga.
@@ChuckBarron You can say that again my Brother, sometimes you wish you were a contortionist,I'm serious.I once had to unclog a soil stack that was right behind an old oil tank and had I been twenty pounds heavier at the time it would have been like trying to squeeze two pounds of baloney into a one pound bag.
Watched till the end. Lot to learn in this video. Thank you Sir. I enjoyed your on the spot training.
Can't believe I watched the entire video without getting bored. Man, great friggin work. And love the music. Hit them waves in d'mornin'!
yes sir
I love plumbing! Beautiful job!
me too.....lol and thank you
CB1, thanks for sharing your expertise with the world. Good call on the ball valves, its always a pain in the ass when you have to shut down a place with that many units. Especially when its old and there aren't seperate mains for each apartment. Been there done that. I always use clear silicone to. seal that up but tomorrow I am installing one of those and im gonna go the putty route. Youre the man CB.
We the man.....we keeping our folks leak free......ya man!
Chuck, awesome video! Good camera angles nice music and volumen. I know how working on old pumblimg can be a nightmare. You tackled this job anticipating any potential problems like true pros do. Subscribed!
Thanks 👍Done so many of these my friend. Plumb on daddio.
I'm not a big fan of music playing "in the background" on DIY videos, but yours was a good pick and at a good volume! You've given me courage to tackle this job. Thanks, thanks a lot! ; o)
Awesome, thank you!
I second that I didn't even notice the music till I read your comment so it was perfect.
Sure is nice to have all of those power tools. That looked almost like an impossible job but the finish looked great!!!
I love the way you make it look easy ! Confidence , Im glad you took the time to make it right ! Thank you for your knowledge , and the giving the know how for me and many others how to do this . This is a gift you have given to all of us .
You are so welcome. So many under my belt. trust me its no easy task. Many many years of experience..
Great video Chuck, very informative and helpful. Keep the video's coming!!!!!!!!!!
The sign of an experienced professional, "you made it look easy!"
Great job!
So many of these jobs under my belt. thanks
I have a '50s house and this job is exactly what I need to do. Love the part about putting the extra 'stops' in the pipe lines 'cause mine has no shut off valves. Now I can turn off the water - fit the 'stops'...and Momma can have her water back on while I do the job - it'll take me longer than you! Thanks - I've subscribed.
Thanks John and plumb on my friend
Sorry - have a question: What is the 4 branched manifold called? (so I will know what I'm looking for!) Thanks!
You are the Picasso of plumbing sir! I'm so impressed with the quality of work
It's the Tools that makes the job easy also...
ha
so true
You really did a great job and fixed it well
Thank you! Cheers!
thank you for posting!
My pleasure!
One more. You're a godsend. Merry Christmas
excellent video. thank you
Gotta love that access panel!
panel was just right size...how many times have we had to cut the top of it...alot!
Man I am so glad I came across you! Awesome job,, thank you""
What you said towards the end of the video is very true, always check boxes to insure that you have all the parts in the box before you leave the store otherwise you'll have a hassle with the store clerk trying to say that you probably lost parts after you left the store.I make it a habit to always open the box of what ever it is that I'm buying before I check out at the cash register to make sure that I got all the parts whether the box has been retaped or not.
Time is so valuable.
Really enjoyed this, first time seeing the Pro Press tool.
Yes a game changer.
This is the same 3-valve and spout model that I need to replace. We recently got isolation valves installed for the tub so that I could try to tackle this without having to shut off at the main again. Super weird that we have a huge access panel to the tub but absolutely nothing that justified the access beforehand! I really appreciate the realness of your documentary and commentary through this process...loved the prematurely incorrect discovery of missing parts LOL! I hope I can do this. If not, I'll reach out to our plumber again who did the isolation valves for us. Wish me luck!
Do you know the name/manufacturer of this three-valve. Currently trying to find replacement stems on mine.
@@ghjsdkfs unfortunately, I don't. We're not looking into using a cover-up plate and going with a single-valve unit. Still researching....
Great video! Now, if I only had those cool crimping/cutting tools..thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Thanks Barron. 👍🏽
Awesome video. Thanks. Merry Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas to you also.
Great video. Thank you.
we're having a link in the guest bathroom and i was at a loss but watching this i feel like we can repair it. thanks so much for uploading this!
get er done.....
Joe, dig your videos. Thanks for sharing
Indeed. thank you.
I’m a plumber in California! Plumbing systems are a lot different here in Cali! Love your vids though! The sewer Sunday one had me cracking up
my man....thanks for tuning in.
I got worried the old valves would seize but you managed, that's impressive.
ya a real gem.
that looks identical to the style in our front bathroom(possibly the tub too).....would love to have new handles & spout - only the toilet has a name in our bathroom - universal rundle (perhaps from sears and roebuck back in the day - love the full skirted toilet much better than the new kohler ones).....awesome work -
Your name should be Chuck Yoodimann because YOU DA MAN! Thanks for such great REAL videos!
lol....Plumbing! Live it. Love it.
Just awesome, and love the Rockabilly music too!
Nowadays we don't have patience for shit...but I watched this whole video. Liked everything about the video. Real world fix!!
Real world for sure.
Those are some cool tools. helpful video!
Thanks.
Great job 👏👍 I have the exact same bathroom and vintage faucet my tiles are pink I also have the same problem with leaking. Whenever I turn on the shower not the spout. And it's leaking through the bottom of tub which is the living room ceiling 😭 which caused me to come across your video. All the dumb asses that I called to fix it saying they have to tear the whole thing down tub, Ceiling and all. Thing is I don't have all that amount of money right now. All I can afford right about now is a fix just like what you did so that my daughter and I can take showers smh, wish you could come do mine, I live in Philadelphia. You brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for your video 🙏.
awesome! Stay vintage. you can always gut a bath. I do know MVP plumbing in philly. He a great guy and honest too. Im not sure where part your in. He may be able to help.
You almost made me want to start doing plumbing again for about 10 minutes!!! lmao!! good video
lets do this.
I have no interest in plumbing at all but here I am! Watch the video in full! Great content and work! 🙂
Thanks for the great video.
Thank you
work of art in the making !
Great video Chuck!
Thanks Dave.
Nice job Chuck, I want to change my three handle valve into one. A local plumber quoted me $900.
Thanks for the video. I have old valve and it needs to be replaced but can’t find it at homedepot (those in HD are too long or just not fitting my old house). Anywhere I can still find and buy those old style size valve?
Is there a way to replace the rubber washers or seals without replacing the whole unit? Asking for a friend
Very efficient good job
Ha. This one. A tough one.
I really enjoyed your video. It taught me a lot. Thanks for posting it. Jody in Gadsden Al.
Glad it was helpful!
Please do more videos like this, really appreciate your opinions.
Nice clean job!
Thanks anthony
Great job Chuck
thanks james
thanks.chuck BARRON
Yes Sir.
Thank you, Chuck, for the helpful video! Please add the list of the tools (cutter, crimper, etc.) to the description.
roger that Mikhail.
Normally I don't watch this kind of stuff, but his jobs are adventures. There is always something unexpected and frustrating that he has to tackle. And IMHO, the plumbing industry should have developed more advanced connectors and tools by now. I would be curious to get his opinion on using PEX in general. It seems to me that it would be a good choice especially when working on older plumbing systems and homes. And of course, what about using PVC. Could this have been a solution in this case ?
Great work on a dirty job!!!
Thanks! Old skillz came out
Thanks mate!
Ya Man....No worries Jacob....get er done
Nice cordless tools to do the job !
So this looks exactly like our 60 year old bathroom with identical fixtures. It still mostly works, but I'm looking at making some changes because I've been getting black debris in the hot water from it. Cold seems fine and other hot taps in the house are fine. I've replaced everything from the tankless with expansion PEX A up to the 1/2" copper pipe that goes up through the floor feeding it from my basement and I'm still getting the debris. So now I'm guessing it's coming from the valve or some of the old galvanized fittings or the nipple. After watching this I may just change out the whole 8" valve like you did through an old access panel in our son's closet. I was going to see if maybe I could just replace the nipple with a brass one, but I'm having trouble getting the spout off right now. I was hoping to reuse it since it's original, but I may need to take my big wrench to it like you did. Thanks for the video of just exactly what I needed to see. Enormous help. If we ever meet, the drinks are on me. However, I'm wondering why you say the entire bathroom needs to be "gutted". Ours is green tile but otherwise looks the same down to the tub.
what tools are you using to do the solderless connections? Beautiful work my man!
Great vid! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
I liked the video just for the commentary sounds... typical guy!! Love I!!!
for sure.
Thanks so much for this video! I have the same problem. I've replaced the seals and seats a couple of times now. Keeps on dripping. If you don't mind me asking, how do you get for a job like that with parts?
You're welcome! easy 4 hours of work on this one. a tough one for sure.
Thank you for posting this video. This is the same 3 value shower I need to replace and it helps to have seen one replaced by an expert! There is no access panel behind my wall and the bathroom was added to this house in the 1950's so my guess mine is original and has never been replaced. Thanks again! Great video!
thanks douglas. good luck
You rocked it brotha!
"My favorite tool, the torch!" then later "I gotta get the propress in there, I don't want to solder"
That tub needs a lot more work than a new Faucet !
Great job man.
Thank you.
Hey, I’d like to upgrade my handles to something in this century. Do I need to replace the entire valve as well?
top work always check your stuff before you start the job.
lessons everyday...ha
I have that same bathroom fixture which is leaking really bad on the hot water side. The problem is I can’t even get the escutcheon off. What tool do I need to remove it?
I love your cheery attitude!! Nicey nice!! My dad taught me everything I know, but you use equipment I'm not familiar with. A machine to connect the pipes which avoids sweating them on?
nice video, now just got to figure out how to access the back of the tub lol, feel like I should install a panel instead of putting up tile
good luck and thank you.
I don't have an access panel to get to the back of the tub. Our tub is one big fiberglass shower/ tub combo. I've tried replacing the knobs but can't find a replacement that fits. What do I do?
That was a great vid man!
Is it better to open up tiles and replace or open from drywall side and replace?
What brand of faucet do you recommend for this type of job? Excellent work
Nice job
Thanks Francis.
After the cutting the pipes and seating the connectors in the pipe what type of tool is that you used ? It almost looks like you crimped the connectors to the pipe without soldering them , they have those types of tools?
First let me say, I love my pro-press, question, I always de-burr after cutting copper, inside and outside, do you feel it is not needed? I have one of these to do next week, I think I will need to cut wall to get to shower riser, your trick of opening hole in 2x4 might save me
🪠🚿 great job
He reminds me of Teddy from Bob's Burgers lol I love it!
and some fries please.
Missing parts in the box makes a bad day worse. Good for you ,you found them . Not my luck
lol! For sure...
"AND THERE GOES ANOTHER SATISFIED SKIN-FLINT BUILDING OWNER!!!"LOL!!!I'm sorry Chuck,I couldn't resist.LOL!!!God bless you and yours my Brother.
Thank you.
Can a three-handle be converted to a two-handle with the diverter in the faucet?
(my tub surround is fiberglass; easy enough to patch the hole)
For the algo. You're a real one
When you said you went surfing before work.... subbed.
Plumbing is one of those things that... even though I understand how it works... it would probably take me a good part of a day to do what you just did... along with several trips to the hardware store.
Surfs my go to for mental reset.
Great how-to video. Was there a means of fire retardant close by? My setup is about the same, but without the shutoff valves. I think I saw enough to start thinking of having a plumber do it.
That is correct...a tough one for sure. keep the water bottle close.
Those faucet handles and covers loom like mine. Could I identify the stem brand that way?
Looks good
So classic.
What type of power tool is that to cut and tighten the pipe.
