I was finished with my 2018 Street Bob after my stage one upgrade, a few weeks ago. THEN I discovered your videos, so many cool must have, must do's I'll be busy all winter. I'll post my videos come spring time. Thanks for reducing the burden of having money in my saving. We cool. Richard
Love your videos man! I'm planning on getting a street bob in a little over a month and your videos on it are what brought me to your channel but you make quality content and I enjoy every video of yours that I watch! Keep it up!
@Nathan Cappe thanks heaps man, I appreciate your comment. glad you're enjoying the videos, I'll keep em coming 👍. Hope you enjoy the street bob as much as I do.
Thanks for that review, I've been thinking about this and was hoping there was something in between forward and mid controls just using common sense which seems to match up with everything you've explained. Appreciate the clarification.
Just installed the forwards on my street bob yesterday I'm 5/11" so for me they are perfect. I loved the bike but new the forwards would make it perfect for me I owned the bike for six months before the kit was available like you I don't like the crash bar look so I waited for this kit glad I did definitely money well spent 👍
I just got a 13 V Rod Muscle with forward controls and I felt like I had to relearn how to ride. I’m definitely getting comfortable with it after putting some miles down & it is way more comfortable than my 848 EVO was. Glad I found your channel just subscribed
You bring up some great points. I love the forward controls on my Street Bob and I’m 5’-10”. The only thing that bugs me about them is my intake choices. I don’t regret it though, love the ride! The forward controls and Saddlemen step-up seat makes for a nice cockpit ;). Cheers!
@Rick Castillo yep the saddlemen seat and forward controls completley change the rider positioning for the better. Two must do mods for average height and taller riders.
I just bought a 2020 lowrider with mid controls. For me, for the first 25 miles they're great. 25 to 50 miles, my legs were cramped and my butt sore. 75 to 100 miles, I entered the pain zone. Over 100 miles, it became dangerous, because lifting my legs off the pegs were painful as hell. Soon as it goes in for it's first service, the first mod is forward s. Good video
Yeah personally I dont get why Harley run mids on these bikes, it makes the riding position cramped and unbearable on long distance rides. Man the 2020 lowrider S looks bad ass 🤙
That starting to sell me more on the Street Bob now lol. I'm only 5.10 almost 5.11,leg cramps in the hips are no fun when your riding. I know S@S makes a small low profile air cleaner, that is their old school tear drop air cleaner, they look sharp
@Road Rash yeah the forwards move your feet forward by 7.5 inches. It doesnt sound like much but it makes the riding position so much more comfy. I do really like the S&S air cleaners but I've already bought a screaming eagle air cleaner kit which should arrive soon 🤞
Great video. Thanks. Just brought my first forward controls bike Fatboy after 50 years of riding. Only been out on it several times and I am wondering how long it will take me to get use to them because at the moment I feel wobbly using them . Never too old to learn I guess.
I've always had forward controls on my Harleys as I mostly did long distance riding and they're more comfortable for that. It will take a little getting use to them but they're definitely worth it for those longer rides 👍
I'm short. A whopping 5' 6". I rode an electra glide for 10 years. Got the Softail Standard and immediately hated the mids. I got use to forwards and floorboards, can't go back. Expensive buggers in the US too.
This is a great channel. Glad I found it. My 2019 Bob came with forward controls installed by the dealer. There are two different FC kits. One has the black brake pedal (which is what I have now) and the other kit has a chrome pedal (which I have on order). I don't care about the chrome but the chrome pedal kit has a different foot position which is what I want. If you look at the pictures of the two you will see what I mean. I have a 30" inseam and the angle of attack doesn't work with the black brake pedal. I have to hyper-extend my foot to brake. Hopefully, the chrome pedal with a higher foot position will fix the issue.
Thanks mate, good to know about the difference in foot positioning with the crome and black brake pedals. Thankfully the black one is perfect for my height. 👍
Hi there. Nice vid as Always. I have an aftermarket forward controll from thunderbike. The issue with those is i always scrape the right side of the foot support bracket. I wonder if you have scraping issues with th Original hd ones
No mate I havnt had that issue. Where abouts exactly is it scraping the right side foot support bracket. I can take some measurements to let you know if there is much of a difference between the two brands of forward controls.
Hey man check out this forum www.hdforums.com/forum/milwaukee-eight-m8/1204239-milwaukee-2018-street-bob-clutch-cable-adjustment.html a bloke has a step by step process on how to do it along with photos showing how.
I'm 6'4" I had them include the forward controls for me before I even picked up my street bob haha. I'm actually wishing they made those extended forward control kits for the street bob... I know Harley makes them for a few other softail models.. anyone had any luck making these work for their street bob?
Can't find your forward control install video. I saw it before and was very informative. I just picked up mine for the 2019 bob so gonna have to wing it. Great vids btw.
Ah yea I figured something like that may have happened. Please do, it's the best instructional vid I've seen, gave me the confidence to have a go. Keep up the great work and safe riding mate.
Cheers Mate. I have a 2019 FXBB and am considering putting a Harley Davidson Cruise Control. What’s your opinion? Also, do you have the Vance & Hines FP-3?
I think it's a great idea putting the cruise control on. I have the maximus tuner as that's what my dealership sells and installs. I did a vid on the tuner 👍
I've a 2018 Streetbob, I have installed a moustache engine guard, will I now be unable to install forward controls. I prefer forward for rear breaking. Thanks.
Hi!¡! Your sb look gread, but i have a question, Is the t bar of the slim s more comfortable than the street bob bar? I'm looking for one like you had in the slim s for mi sb but in Europe it's very difficult something like that u.u
Hey mate I preferred the pull back of the drag bars on the softail slim but I prefer the rise height of the stock street bob bars for my height of 5'9". You can purchase similar bars for the street bob as to what I had on my slim s, from the website wild 1 chubby handlebars. The bars I had on the softail slim s were the pullback drag bar with an 8 inch rise.
Good question mate, I'm actually not sure hey. I've had a look at crashbars on google and it appears the cross bar sits a fair bit higher than the forwards. Judging by images I'd say they would fit but as I said I dnt really know.
Good job on the videos. I started watching when you had the slim s, cause I have one. I’ll keep on watching. 👍
@Jeff Allen thanks man, appreciate it. The slim S is a much better looking bike in my opinion. Was just a pity I had some bad luck with mine 👍

Another great video on the new SB! Thanks for reviewing the foward controls, you gave me a lot to think about for my bike.

@Ron Wissinger I'm with you man I much prefer the forward controls. One of the best mods I've done to the bike 👌

forward control was my 1st mod on my street bob
A must do mod to these bikes if youre taller than 5'8" I think 👍

Because they want to charge us 500 us dollars just for the forward controls
Thanks for the tip on the heavy breather mate

I've seen on the facebook street bob forum that it will work with forwards.
I'm 58 I want forwards cause off the longer rides , love mids but I get a little cramped after a hour u reakon I would be right if I went with fowards
Yes man, they're definantly better suited for longer rides. I've done a few long rides and no longer have any cramping.
i hate my street bob mid control too when ever i put my leg down my jeans would get caught on them.
Whats your inseam as height is overall?
Im watchiiiing you bro

thanks ^^
@@santelmo100 not a worry mate. All the best 👍
Any issues with the brake pedal being so far left of the peg, seems misaligned. Thanks
I never found an issue with it.
Where did you get that piece around your headlight?
Hey man I think you're asking about the fairing? It's called the gauntlet fairing from the memphis shades website
where did u get the fairing from? or its came with the bike thanks
The Memphis shades website
Hey man weird question, what backpack are you rocking?
Hey man it's a harley Davidson back pack which they gave me as a freebie when I bought the bike.
@@TheGingybeardMan Oh sick man! Love the videos! Getting my Street Bob in August so I'll live vicariously through you until then!
OK so you can put your midcontols on for the weekdays and your foreword controls for the weekends.

hd crash bars fit with forward controls. not sure about other manufacture made crsh bars.
What is ur gas cap?
It a sportster flushmount gas cap
I kept my mid controls and just got a mustache guard for long distance. $250 US is better than $500 US... I'm 6'.
Yeah I've never been a fan of the look of the mustache guard I prefer forwards for asthetics
