Two questions: 1) Why did I mistakenly call the album Avalon's Roxy Music? lol and 2) Have you found any good vinyl deals lately? If yes, let me know what you found below!

The key to successful, enjoyable record collecting is PERSISTENCE and PATIENCE and to enjoy the thrill of the hunt if one wants to find great records at bargain prices or more affordable prices.
I used to go to my favourite thrift stores consistently every week because it was amazing what I would find over time and another tip I'll pass along is don't just go to thrift stores on a Friday or Saturday (or Sunday if they're open). Go on a Tuesday or Thursday night instead because thrift stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army, Value Village, etc.) are quieter with fewer customers during those evenings (and in the mornings for sure), so chances are you'll have first crack at recent vinyl arrivals compared to facing the potential feeding frenzy on a Friday night or during the weekend.
It's also a great way to scoop up some amazing vintage audio/video equipment. :)

As I mentioned in your previous video, I always keep an eye out for used records at local thrift stores, rummage sales, etc. and I monitor new vinyl releases on sale for under $20 on Amazon. I bought some records for under $10 to $20 new on Amazon while the prices of the specific albums listed below returned to their $30 to $45 price range, some literally the day after I bought them cheaply.
Some albums I purchased this year that were albums released in 2021 and 2022 include:
    - 'Manticore'(2022) by Shovels & Rope ($14.86 when I bought it) with some dark lyrics by this duo and their track 'No Man's Land' is a song about trench warfare during World War I.
    - 'American Siren' (2021), a country album by Emily Scott Robinson reminiscent of albums by Dolly Parton or Emmylou Harris ($13.74 when I bought it).
    - 'The Quiet Cormorant' (2021) by Per Odvar Johansen ($9..26 when I bought it.) which is an abstract piano album.
    - ''Street of Dreams' (2021) by the Bill Charlap Trio which is a jazz album ($18.81 when I bought it).
    - 'Hair & Hide' (2022) by George Jackson who plays bluegrass fiddle ($8.46 when I bought it).
    - 'Scrapper' (2021) by Joe Nolan (from Edmonton, Alberta) which is a folk and blues-inspired kind of album ($12.59 when I bought it).
    - 'The Future Looks Fine' (2021) by LadyCouch which has a great 1970's feeling to it in terms of tone and rock orchestrations ($14.90 when I bought it).
    - 'No Time To Die' (2021), the James Bond soundtrack picture disc by Hans Zimmer with the title song sung by Billie Eilish ($21.91 when I bought it).
    - 'Rosegold' (2021) by Ashley Monroe ($12.79 when I bought it).
So, there are some great newly-released albums out there, depending on one's tastes, and there are bargains to be had too if one keeps one's eyes peeled. Plus, I use RUclips to check out the albums before buying them which saves a lot of disappointment. :)

As a retired investment manager I created a "portfolio" of 2000 albums, including new audiophile, used classic rock, new jazz, old jazz, new records in different genres etc this enables me to create a market index similar to the way a mutual fund is priced. Prices have been stagnant since May/June this year they are currently falling by 0.15% (on average) per day with the occasional uptick. The peak may be past There have already been some significant market corrections. The only sectors to have maintained value are the pure audiophile records i.e. Analogue Productions. A market shows reality, manufacturers live on the buyers wishful thinking and wallets

It was the last place I thought I would find great jazz and in good condition. This is a huge festival with 90% Chinese junk. But that 10%….well. Also picked up two Ventures albums, Heart Dog and Butterfly, and a white label promo of Yes Tales of Topographic Oceans (cover is trash but the albums aren’t bad). When you least expect it, bada bing!

Nice Depeche Mode find there. Bravo 👏 I sold my 1990 vinyl copy when CD appeared. One of my biggest regrets. Anyway, you know I thought about creating a RUclips channel lots of times, similar to yours, where I could talk about music and movies. But I can't seem to overcome the idea that I'm talking to myself in front of a camera and I don't like to see my face on film. It feels weird. Anyway, I love your channel.

Thank you so much for kind words. I encourage you to start a channel! It feels very weird talking to the camera at first but then it gets easier over time! My first few videos are just me blabbing on and on lol. But with some practice I got better. Thanks again for watching!

Very true, there are some nice gems out there. The real secret is to look for stuff not many other people are interested in. Recently found Bill Nelson's Red Noise - Sound on Sound in NM quality for $5 CDN. That is a sweet deal for a killer record.

Vinyl is what records are made from, they are LP's, records, albums etc. Do you also collect clear polycarbonate plastic substrate, with a reflective metallic layer, and a clear protective coating of acrylic plastic ie cd's?

I'm overflowing with cheap records ($1). No Violator, but stuff I do like. I actually just sold a second state butcher cover for $430 that I paid $8 for in "as-is condition" (written on a sticky note on the cover.) at an antique mall. I just posted the video about it on my RUclips channel yesterday.

On my birthday in 1985 my wife surprised me with a Technics CD player. It was the cheapest one she could find at $300.00. She also found four CDs which were harder to find than CD players. I sold most of my vinyl and never looked back. Turntables are awesome! Vinyl sucks! LOL

I've been beating down my local thrift stores for over 20 years. I live in a small town so there's not many people looking. It's gotten harder to find vinyl as the years pass but I always go. Friends always ask me how I find records bc when they go, which is not often, they don't find anything. The key is consistency. You have to go every time you can and you'll walk into something eventually. I buy CDs, cassettes etc. but first and foremost I'm looking for vinyl. I recently found a perfectly fine Sony reel to reel with about 30 reels of music (mostly classic rock) for 5 bucks for the lot. My main thrift store I stalk sells their records for .10 cents a piece. They know me and alert me as soon as I walk in if anything new arrives. Being from Louisiana I have accumulated a wealth of cajun, zydeco and local swamp pop rock from that one store bc it is common in my area. Everyone owned it, no one wants it anymore. The majority of my Dylan, Beatles, Stones, Floyd and on and on and on came from thrift stores back in the day. Almost all of that ranging from .10 cents to a dollar per album.
I still buy new, reissues and second hand online but nothing beats finding a stack of records in a corner of a thrift store and the anticipation of what might be in there. My collectiom is around 2,500 records and at least half but probably more is from thrift stores. It's been a 20+ year adventure and I still love it.
I'm also ecstatic about the resurgence in vinyl bc I know in 5-10 years you'll start seeing records being discarded at thrift stores again and if I'm still alive I'll still be searching waiting to scoop them up.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I love all things second hand (clothing, decor, furniture, books, etc) so I can't help but go into a thrift store just to see what they have. It can be frustrating seeing high prices on records at some stores, but then I'll look through their $1 45s and find rare soul stuff they overlooked and underpriced. It's all just so much fun to me which is why I made this video to hopefully encourage people to just keep looking.
