    Im pretty happy with my stroker 4-5/8" Ultima flywheel assembly in my touring Evo. At 90 mph youd swear that it doesn’t even have 2 pistons moving up and down at 4,000 rpm's. I could put a glass of water on the handlebar and it wouldn't even ripple. Its set up exactly like a stock carbureted 88" twin cam to include the same cv40 jetting and mufflers. The only difference is i chose a EV27 cam. Believe it or not im averaging 55 mpg and it runs PHENOMENALLY WELL. Wouldn't change the configuration of this set up even if i won the lottery. Thanks for sharing your advice on the 89" Ultima flywheel assembly. Worth every dime. 👍🏻

    As to balancing a 45 degree v-twin good luck with that.
    What compromise and direction do you want it to shake?
    Round in circles, or up down?

    I enjoy and learn alot on these videos.. you're a wealth of knowledge.. I've got me a evo frame and planning on starting to build a chopper out of it this winter.. I want a hotrod evo engine.. do you suggest buying a crate engine and what manufacturer or do you suggest buying a aftermarket case and piecing it together

    • @TatroMachine
      @TatroMachine  11 месяцев назад +1

      i would go with a 120 ultima evo motor and trans. if you want a faster hotrod than go with the 127 motor. if you really want to piss off everyone including all those m8 bozos than go right to the 140 evo motor. email me if you want any of these or other parts to make a good combo for you.

    Yo tatro what oil should I put in my engine? And what oil should I put for my primary? I have a 1979 ironhead and I don't think I'm supposed to use 20w50 on both🤔

    • @wvbiker746
      @wvbiker746 11 месяцев назад +1

      My 73 Ironhead called for straight 60 weight in the engine.

      @@wvbiker746 damn really? Am looking at the forums and their saying formula + primary especially if I got barret clutch too and that what I got and them sum say 60 or atf

    • @TatroMachine
      @TatroMachine  11 месяцев назад +2

      the thicker the better on old harleys. that would be pre evos. they were never made for thin ass oils like 20/50. expect very low oil flow and pressures when you run them. with good oil like tribodyn you can get away with it but i still like thicker oils.
      for a newer rebuilt motor you can run 50w oil up into the mid 80's temp range. on older motors, stay in the 70's temp range. for the temps in the 80's and into the 90's use 60w oil. for the 90 temps and up use 70w oil. the thicker oils will protect you motor when the oil thins out from the higher temps. any kind of oil cooler will allow you to run slightly thiner oils because it stays cooler longer.
      make sure you only use oils that are made for v-twin bikes or older cars. you realy need all the zink ind other crap they took out of the oil to make the o2 sensors happy, not the motor.
      for the trans only use a thin gear oil like 80 or 85w. 90w is getting thick and your clutch will not be happy. atf will kill your trans.

    Hello Mr Tatro! Please help! For my 1979 shovelhead 80" Bought a set of Jim's Big Axle 2461-1 lifters. Then i paired them with a set of Japanese hydraulic units. The hydraulic units are wobleing (the are smaller in diameter than the Jim's lifters) in the lifters (in my other shovelheads the stock lifters are tight!) The stock hydraulic units outer diameter are 13.08-13.09mm(0.515in) The new Japanese hydraulic units outer diameter is 13.09-13.1mm (0.515in) OK. Stock hydraulic lifters inner diameter 13.17-13.21mm(0.5185-0.520 in) (oval) The new Jim's Big Axle 2461 inner diameter is 13.21-13.27mm(0.520-0.522in!!!) (oval) I'm not dare to use them as is' cause it's not a cheap set up! THE FAIR JIM'S MACHINE NOT HELP FOR MY! Please help! Thank you from Hungary!

      thats what you get these days. i would just use loctite to hold them in place. try a red and see if it holds up. if not, then try one of the green retaining compounds.

    • @TatroMachine
      @TatroMachine  11 месяцев назад +1

      try thicker oil with what you have. i like solids but you should use a correct solid lifter cam. they say you can run both on some cams but that is bull.
