Nearly five years after the 6-day War, peace in the
Middle East is as far away as ever. In this 1972
interview, Israel's Premier, Mrs. Golda Meir, makes it
clear that although everything, in principle, is negotiable,
there are certain pieces of territory which Israel
is determined to hold on to: Jerusalem, the Golan
Heights and Sharm el Sheikh in Sinai. The justification,
explains Mrs. Meir, is to be found either in past history
or in the practical necessity for Israel to have what she
terms secure borders.

Golda was an Iron lady, a lioness and an icon. If someone else had been a Prime Menister at those days of war May be Israel wouldn't have overcome this war. Nobody could come close to her. She was braver than any other man in the Israeli government .Not only did she won the war, but also she prevented a world war. She was the one and only leader of Isreal. She is a behavioral psychologist who understands how tribes, groups, self-ranking/correcting cooperative units, & more perceptual physical; mental types, project their cultural perception to individual bodily & or unified autonomy &* boundaries, which are drastically different & unique with totally different effects & results from one culture to the next, many which can predict extinction with algorithms via #algorithmicbias. For example: a culture of abuse & enabling of abuse or untreated mental diseases (which happen in all species) will differ dramatically from one that uses freedom of speech in order to figure out how to practice advanced science, law & art as safely as possible.
Her East Wisconsinite accent cracks me up. Don't get me wrong, she is brilliantly tough as nails, but I can't help but wonder if she calls a drinking fountain a bubbler.

Was she even born in the middle east ?
Israel was dealt a huge blew under her leadership in 1973. if only she accepted what Sadat offered (for free) the year before. But no, Israeli's live in this cycle of (we will not give something back for peace after we won it with war) also (these borders aren't 100% safe, let us get more land to feel more safe). She was not asking for peace, she is simply asking for capitulation.

I have always admired Golda Meir and this interview from your archives just further reinforces the underlying foundation of that admiration. She had great goals and visions for the nation of Israel and could express those very succinctly.
the Sinai was returned to Egypt, who didn't want the gaza's strip back unfortunately!!! Israel had to deal with it !!! the beautiful and Biblical Sinai, returned to Egypt in change of peace, now is occupied by ISIS and Muslim brotherhood; Israel gave the gaza's strip to arafat, and territories in Judea and Samaria, now are occupied by hamas and fatah; I believe that after the 6 days war, Israel should have requested to recognize his borders once for always !!!!!

A country has the right of territorial integrity and the people have the right of self determination. Both rights were ignored by the Jewish migrants, settlers pre WW2 and after the war. Israel was miraculously given 56% of Palestinian land, but they occupied 86% and forced the inhabitants who lived there for generations out of their homes or straight away killed them.

As much as admire Golda, I still want dye and style her hair, do her make up, and put her in a stylish dress.
