I have to ask how close was too close? What a great video. I am always amazed at how well these big bulls move through the trees. Thanks for telling us his size and weight. I had an idea; many of your other viewers know these things better than I do. :)
I would say the stare down was probably less than 10 yards. With the thick trees I had to get close to film, but I also felt like I could get behind a tree if he charged. All that said, most the time he looked relatively docile, terms of body language, but the direct stare is a sign of an aggression from moose.
I was watching his body language very closely. He never appeared aggressive until the stare down, then it was time to yield. That said, at the shoulders he’s probably 8 feet tall. Moose are impressive animals.
@ Yes, he was Very impressive. I understand about body language. Definitely understood that stare down. I also have seen both wild and domestic animals change their minds very suddenly and how much faster they can cover ground. Despite my respect for your years of knowledge and experience, I admit, I was worried for you❣️🙏 Held my breath a few times.
I got memory experience in western montana of similar, With cow and calf on trail. Also found skeleton of a young one under thick brush, Still had a pile of oval scat inside of skeleton where intestines had been. Thanks for the great video
Tem a impressão de estar bem próximo dele...obrigada pelo vídeo...
Thank you, I would like to think we are friends.😊
Incredible!
Thank you, that experience is burned in my mind.
Uh...gulp!!! 🤭😯Nice moosie, there now...🥰

Great looking moose. I suspect in the coming years he will be a real big beast with a huge set of antlers. Thanks for sharing. 😊

@@RaisedinAlaska, thanks. That is pretty close and I appreciate the footage.
@@ERNurseCEN Thank you.
I couldn’t hardly stop looking at his tines and how sharp and pointy they are. You really took a risk.

Thank you. It’s always special getting to see animals up close and moose are so huge that they are breathtaking.
Wow!! Nerves of steel you have! So funny - my house was built in 1806 and has 7'9" ceilings. That moose wouldn't even fit, lol!!!
They are huge animals. Nerves of steel, or lack of brains?😉
Hah!!! @@RaisedinAlaska

I do just like you and keep a close watch on "body language". Knowing full well that attitudes may change at any time. Thanks for another great video.
