WATCH THE FULL DOCUMENTARY: • Bradman and Tendulkar ...
In October, 2022, ABC Journalist Paul Kennedy travelled to India for a documentary marking 25 years since the one and only meeting between two of cricket’s greats, Sir Don Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar.
Bradman famously paid Tendulkar a tribute he gave no other player, “This fellow plays much the same way that I used to play.”
At Tendulkar’s training academy in Mumbai, he opened up on his style, his approach to the game and his respect for the Don.

07:58 My father had given me freedom to fail as well!! Wow how many INDIAN parents can do this! Sachin is Sachin for a reason!
12:26 We must thank his parents for dedicating their time and nurturing positivity in him so that he could make billions of people happy later!
16:00 Analogy to the problems and solutions we have in Life, as we mature we start coming up with more than one solution for problems
19:55 Paul is sweating but Sachin managed to make him smile with his tiny and elegant tinge of humor
    39:55 Preparation is key
42:14 When everyone congratulated Sachin, only he knows Warne has not shown a trump card (bowling around the wicket) to him yet!

The Millennials and Gen Zs have no idea what Sachin was. He made us hook on to TV sets similar to how Ramayan & Mahabharat TV serials way back then did. He is the one who carried the nation's expectations singlehandedly countless times. He is the rightful GOAT and GOD of cricket. My interest in the game also diminished slowly after he retired... T20s were great for some time before IPL got bigger and eventually killed the quality of the game. There's no respect for bowling for that matter anything except for pinch hitting ... I see spectators going to IPL games more like going to a movie or a pastime activity than watching cricket. I hope the game goes through some changes and make it a level playing field for bowlers and batsmen alike. He will be remembered forever.

From a guy who's just a couple of years older than Sachin & watched cricket regularly & more so from the time you started playing till the day you retired ...you had us take days off from work , switch off our TV sets once you got out .
For many years you alone carried the hopes , aspirations & pride of a billion+ nation on your shoulders without once shirking your responsibility to the game you love most .
You as a sportsman made us feel proud as a nation & led the belief not only for other cricketers but other sports players that an Indian sportsman/sportswoman can be a world beater .
And through all the adulation , success, fame, money never lost your humility, to remember all those who contributed to your success, to have your feet always on the ground... through your actions & words you taught & still, speaking for myself , teach us life lessons .
To be the best in the world for so long but still the first on the ground, to be a team man ,to guide youngsters playing alongside you, to lead by example, ego only internal to better yourself, never to bring down another.
You hardly speak about all the charities you support, speaks volumes about your upbringing.
You are a once in a lifetime phenomenon.
May the shouts of Sachin Sachin reverberate around the cricketing world wherever & whenever you go , till the end of time !🙏🇮🇳
This video itself is so revealing about the game , your game in particular, about how to succeed in life & a lesson for parents & kids alike .

Been watching cricket since '95 - Sachin at 23yrs OLD (i had just started working when I was 23) was the highest scorer in 1996 World Cup.
2003 World Cup (7 YEARS later) he was highest scorer and also made 673 runs which is record of most runs in World Cup history
2010 (14 YEARS after 1996 and 2yrs before he retired from white ball cricket) he scored a T20 century, won the IPL orange cap which I never expected Sachin to win as T20 wasn’t his format plus he was old - also he was the FIRST INDIAN BATSMAN to win the IPL orange cap - despite the fact he didn’t play T20 internationals and also was at the END of his career.
2010 he also scored the first ODI double century,
2011 (15YEARS after 1996) again one year before he retired, he was World cup’s 2nd highest leading scorer in the World Cup which we won and was only 10runs less in total runs than Dilshan. - between that he scored 100 centuries in an era where white ball watches avg score was 250 and 300 total looked unchaseable / too daunting.- that’s why he is the GOAT. Unparalleled longevity while holding the highest public expectations burden put on an Indian cricketer.
