In October, 2022, ABC Journalist Paul Kennedy travelled to India for a documentary marking 25 years since the one and only meeting between two of cricket’s greats, Sir Don Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar.
Bradman famously paid Tendulkar a tribute he gave no other player, “This fellow plays much the same way that I used to play.”
At Tendulkar’s training academy in Mumbai, he opened up on his style, his approach to the game and his respect for the Don.

He attained a higher level of practice and mind. Almost mystical.
Australians adore Tendulkar. He got a standing ovation in every game he played down under, and now this stellar documentary and interview. Hard to remember any country giving such a wonderful tribute to a foreign sportsperson.
I think AB in India comes close

I wouldn't go as far to say that he is adored here in Australia but yes he surely is respected especially after the statement by Don bradman
Australia gave australia’s highest civilian award Order of Australia before India gave bharat ratna
@@marshallmarthes definitely Don’s statement took sachin to a new height and put him amongst the best in the world.
His battle with his conscious mind and subconscious mind explains all his mastery over the game...
S.TENDULKAR.10 👌👍🔥💐🌹
What a sweet and compassionate person is Sachin.
07:58 My father had given me freedom to fail as well!! Wow how many INDIAN parents can do this! Sachin is Sachin for a reason!
12:26 We must thank his parents for dedicating their time and nurturing positivity in him so that he could make billions of people happy later!
16:00 Analogy to the problems and solutions we have in Life, as we mature we start coming up with more than one solution for problems
19:55 Paul is sweating but Sachin managed to make him smile with his tiny and elegant tinge of humor
39:55 Preparation is key
42:14 When everyone congratulated Sachin, only he knows Warne has not shown a trump card (bowling around the wicket) to him yet!
Born in 85 watched most of his innings and interviews I have grown up now but sachins smile is same and refreshing as it was when he was a kid
One of the best Sachin Tendulkar interviews. The way he shows his thought process to try and disarm the bowler - he’s easily the most aggressive minded batters.
These people don't know how lucky they r too meet this legends live..
In my view, Sachin was India's first sporting superstar. There were many sporting greats before him.But that crazy fan following and stardom was incredible. It was my childhood in 90's and I remember that there was like a trend that if Sachin got out, whole nation would go disappointed. Amazing, Unique❤❤😊😊
Most iconic celebrity ever in India
One of my favourite cricketers of all time. He is so humble and simple. Salute 🇧🇩 🇦🇺
Nothing more I can say about Him. We Indians adore him like God. ❤❤
He is so humble and down to earth..wow Indians should be very proud of what this master blaster has done for the country..much respect to sir Tendulkar
When ever I watch Sachin Tendulkar I got goosebumps ❤❤❤❤❤God Of Cricket, Master Blaster,🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Sachin is truly a God ❤️
By far the best interview I heard from anyone. It's not a cricketing lesson it's a life lesson for any individual and lesson for any parents and family. KUDOS to the interviewer and utmost respect for this gentleman and God Sachin Tendulkar.
Well said to the GOAT
Thank you Sachin for always being in the open after retirement and sharing and engaging with us.
The Millennials and Gen Zs have no idea what Sachin was. He made us hook on to TV sets similar to how Ramayan & Mahabharat TV serials way back then did. He is the one who carried the nation's expectations singlehandedly countless times. He is the rightful GOAT and GOD of cricket. My interest in the game also diminished slowly after he retired... T20s were great for some time before IPL got bigger and eventually killed the quality of the game. There's no respect for bowling for that matter anything except for pinch hitting ... I see spectators going to IPL games more like going to a movie or a pastime activity than watching cricket. I hope the game goes through some changes and make it a level playing field for bowlers and batsmen alike. He will be remembered forever.
You should correct your statement sir, pls remove Millennials, Millennials grew up watching Sachin.
I second this comment I watched Satchin play he was amazing. I also witnessed Warnes greatness live
We experience that with Virat.
The best human ❤️ he's one of only a few sportperson that you can follow blindly coz his heart is always at the right place
Sachin Sir is a true lover of the sport...he never misses to appreciate a good shot !! @18:16 🙂
Sachin is not a cricketer he is a emotion in india
Love how hes answering interview questions and motivating the kids at the same time. True legend
The similarities between Sachin and Bradman is that both are simple, honest person and carried themselves with utmost dignity. The fact that people just loved them more than anyone else. It’s not about the record but it’s emotion.
Sachin!❤
such a master class
100 centuries(test and odi) in 90s and 2000s era , was an incredible achievement with all the great bowlers ,we saw during that time.
Little master.... No words at all ....Just want to say respect and thanks from the whole Nation to give us bundle of happiness and joy for so so many years❤💯🏏👍
The way he explains kinda gets one emotional. To watch your idol speak with so much of love and simplicity, still being humble. SACHIN THE GOD ❤️💯.
I think it’s for the first time I m hearing the master to be so very eloquent- he delivered a few gem of lines in the interview!! Is there something that he can’t do? 😊and how can he be so humble and so level headed despite the crazy levels of adulation! A brilliant interview!! - A Sachin fan forever!
❤❤❤ well said
Sachin :God of world cricket in any era
Sachin kept up bradmans view by scoring 100 century. What an eye 👁️ Bradman had when he said Sachin plays like him when he was only 20
Possibly, the best batter ever played this beautiful game. Lot to learn from him both as a athlete and human being. Lots of love and respect for Tendulkar from Bangladesh.
I miss him alot.❤
God of cricket has taken retirement, since then cricket has never been same.
Tendulkar showing enormous respect for Bradman in the interview - calling him ‘Sir’ a great mark of respect. Outstanding interview well done ABC.
The humility with which this person talks about things......There is going to be only one Sachin Tendulkar and the greatest ambassador of the game . Thanks ABC Australia. Way to promote the Game
Every 90s kid whenever talks about cricket it's almost impossible to not have sachin image pop up in mind first.
Bigger than any celebrity in india
All I can say is “Sachin, Sachin” 👏👏👏
Of all the players he saw in his lifetime ,Don rated three players highly
1 Gary Sobers
2.Graeme pollock
3.Sachin Tendulkar.
And i was lucky enough to see the third player on that list.
Bradman saw peak phase of Sachin .
Sachin is absolutely Greatest ever
This is a batting masterclass provided by the greatest batsman of our generation.
Absolutely Greatest batsman of all time
What an amazing interview. Thank you for this gem.
We love sachin for inspiring all the players we have right now
Sachin @50 itself for me gives goosebumps.Just scarcely believable.
Feels like yesterday when he did that interview with Tom Alter.
This is right up there among his best interviews .
I love the almost tender way he speaks about his life and family and everything else and then gets fired up when talking about cricket!
Following you (Sachin)since 1992 world cup until now❤
Sachin.... Sachin.... Sachin......
Fantastic..... even today i haven't been able find anyone who excites me while batting like the way this man used to.....👍
You are an emotion of millions, but above all you are heart of cricket. We have not played it but you lived it❤
Wow…. What a treasure. Kudos ABC for capturing the thought process, the planning and the instinct behind the huge huge success of this God given gift. A rare in depth long analysis of his game by the master himself
From a guy who's just a couple of years older than Sachin & watched cricket regularly & more so from the time you started playing till the day you retired ...you had us take days off from work , switch off our TV sets once you got out .
For many years you alone carried the hopes , aspirations & pride of a billion+ nation on your shoulders without once shirking your responsibility to the game you love most .
You as a sportsman made us feel proud as a nation & led the belief not only for other cricketers but other sports players that an Indian sportsman/sportswoman can be a world beater .
And through all the adulation , success, fame, money never lost your humility, to remember all those who contributed to your success, to have your feet always on the ground... through your actions & words you taught & still, speaking for myself , teach us life lessons .
To be the best in the world for so long but still the first on the ground, to be a team man ,to guide youngsters playing alongside you, to lead by example, ego only internal to better yourself, never to bring down another.
You hardly speak about all the charities you support, speaks volumes about your upbringing.
You are a once in a lifetime phenomenon.
May the shouts of Sachin Sachin reverberate around the cricketing world wherever & whenever you go , till the end of time !🙏🇮🇳
This video itself is so revealing about the game , your game in particular, about how to succeed in life & a lesson for parents & kids alike .
Well said brother ❤
Most Candid I have witnessed Sachin and I have followed his career as close as anyone. He is synonymous with the game for me and probably many many more feel the same. Excellent documentary too. Thank you
Many more? Bro billions across the Globe
This should have ten million views. The most in depth interview ever given by Sachin to any media outlet
Sachin's simplicity and zen like attitude to life has still sustained. Really happy to see him in the next phase of life being content
He is such a humble person Love you Sachin ..Asya Tours
Beautiful interview..like a Master Class for young players and fans like wise

What a beautiful interview ❤ A masterclass from the legend himself. I like how the interviewer is just listening to Sachin like we all were❤ These 54 mins are worth in Gold 😁

29:00 you can still see how excited he is to even demonstrate at the age of 50
The Bradman Sachin documentary was great....thank you ABC Australia. Btw if you release a documentary about sachin even if i am on my deathbed i will still watch it
Batting masterclass from masterblaster
Tendulkar ❤️
Fantastic interview. Possibly the best interview of Sachin
Sachin(emotion)😅❤
Thank u to abc australia n to sachin sir as well

The real GOAT ❤
Great sir❤❤❤❤❤
I really need to be Indian to be able to understand what this man was to us when he played and still is.
Interesting perspective on batting psychology
33.58
One for photographers and one for our memory ❤
This is a very nice interview
33:56 - That spectacular shot man! EPIC!
I would cry if I ever come across him like that girl 1:24
Sachin Tendulkar averages 53.79 approximately equal to 54 after 329 innings in test cricket playing an ocean of great bowlers in his generation. A symbol of excellence and consistency. An emotion, a legend, one of the greatests of all time. SACHIN! SACHIN!! FOREVER..
Absolutely GOAT
Sachin....Sachin....No Sachin..No cricket ❤❤❤❤❤
God of cricket 🙏🙏
33:50 Sachin invented a new shot in test cricket. That’s how much of a genius he was.
I have never seen any batsman playing backfoot punch as much Sachin Tendulkar used to be... we can see a bit of that in Joe Root and Kane Williamson...but Sachin Tendulkar used to play that punch shots every now and then
Bro you are comparing kids to GREATEST EVER
Been watching cricket since '95 - Sachin at 23yrs OLD (i had just started working when I was 23) was the highest scorer in 1996 World Cup.
2003 World Cup (7 YEARS later) he was highest scorer and also made 673 runs which is record of most runs in World Cup history
2010 (14 YEARS after 1996 and 2yrs before he retired from white ball cricket) he scored a T20 century, won the IPL orange cap which I never expected Sachin to win as T20 wasn’t his format plus he was old - also he was the FIRST INDIAN BATSMAN to win the IPL orange cap - despite the fact he didn’t play T20 internationals and also was at the END of his career.
2010 he also scored the first ODI double century,
2011 (15YEARS after 1996) again one year before he retired, he was World cup’s 2nd highest leading scorer in the World Cup which we won and was only 10runs less in total runs than Dilshan. - between that he scored 100 centuries in an era where white ball watches avg score was 250 and 300 total looked unchaseable / too daunting.- that’s why he is the GOAT. Unparalleled longevity while holding the highest public expectations burden put on an Indian cricketer.
Exactly my love story started with cricket since 1996 World Cup as I watched Sachin batting on DD Channel. Sadly ended in 2013 after Mumbai test match🥲
Sachin the GOAT ❤
01:45 Look at the pace at which he talks to a foreigner
He is keeping it utterly clear and slow so the content is absorbed by the person opposite
For all those students looking to improve communication, please watch Sachin talk, No rushing at all!
Well said brother
The god of cricket
The girl emotion during group photo says it all
Amazing 🏆
It is in my college
12:40 family efforts for Sachin Tendulkar
Sir pls come to tamilnadu
His invention of upper cut must have been mentally very hard on fast bowlers. Fast bowlers gave their everything for speed and bounce and Sachin helped the ball along the way for six.
only thing come in my head when i hear sachin tendulkar name "bat ka grip😂"
