You have a life sentence and the attacker gets 10 years. The system failed all of us.

Had similar happen to me in London. I was attacked leaving a gay bar by a gang and sustained a brain injury that affected my life. People think we're safe living in first world countries, but these things affect us too. My heart goes out to others also affected, incl this guy.

So true, I had to watch my back on many occasions when I was younger and out as a gay woman. I feel safer than I did here in 🇨🇦 but homophobia still very much exists. I'm so sorry for what you went through, big hugs. Hugs to all my brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️‍🌈

Wonderful and emotional documentary. What did get me the most was the part where the minister said the the mom that her son was believe for being safe on the streets after midnight. It's so sad to hear that gays, women or just any minority should be cautious when walking down the street. There's something fundamentally wrong with society if this is the current way of thinking. Any being, whether a gay person, a muslim, christian, black or white, is ought to feel safe on the street, should feel safe walking down the road.

This story is so tragic but beautifully put together. It’s so wrong what happened to you and what happens daily to others. Thank you for sharing this. Sending you much love your way ❤️❤️❤️

You would think Canada was a more enlightened and tolerant country than the US , but homophobic bigotry exists there too .
