    Hello. Today I took some serious time with the Analog Heat. In this video I'm feeding it with mostly just one keyboard patch (from the Analog Keys), and showing the different qualities and characteristics of the different analog distortion circuits, EQ and filters in the Analog Heat.
    I hope to give you a "complete" feel for the sound sculpting capabilities of the Heat simply by using just one input throughout most of the demonstration. In particular I love it for its bass sounds, but it's quite versatile beyond just bass and fuzzy distortion. I find it highly useful.

    This is by far the only tutorial about the Analog Heat that really makes sense. The first time someone managed to explain what it is all about rather than just distort some drum grooves and other loops.
    Thank you so much Cuckoo! All of a sudden that little box makes a lot of sense :)

    I think this demo has finally sold me on the Analog Heat. Cheers Cuckoo, another fantastic video! I keep going backwards and forwards between this and Elysia Karacter 500. I prefer Karacter tonal qualities (personal preference), however functionality of the Heat is pretty damn good.

    I feel like this sounds much more contained and digital, compared to a distortion pedal. Definitely has a bunch of useful features though. I would probably use it most for light saturation/enhancement.

    amazing video!!! I have a question about this product: I saw that is possible use it like soundcard. you can record the input (both dry and wet); is also possible send audio via Overbridge as an effect insert in Ableton, and at the same time send the main out of ablaton??
    Thanks!!!!

    I think Bugge Wesseltoft would find this really interesting. Do you personally know him?
    He's collaborated with so many talented and musically diverse people. You and he together would be really interesting. For people who have not heard of him, he is one of, if not the most famous NuJazz greats of Norway. Plays the the piano and Fender Rhodes like Wow, and is definitely into experimentation with combing analogue and digital.

      Not @ all. You are a humble but Extreamly creative and talented person. IMHO, he could gain some interesting and valuable knowledge from from watching your creative noodling, especially with the Elektron gear.

    In your opinion if I already have an Octatrack MKII would it be a good idea to also purchase the Analog Heat? I understand the OT has similar effects but this seems a lot more precise and targeted at manipulating and adjusting those effects.

    At 52:00, can you have the distortion circuit drop out gradually as you move up hte keyboard from the bass? Is that a follower selection choice? Also, what is the patch you are using at 1:00:28? Very interesting and complex. Did you build that one? Is it a Patreon patch?

    • @truecuckoo
      @truecuckoo  7 лет назад

      You could use the frequency base and width settings, that I'm using around 40:00 for that. It's not as accurate as keyboard tracking, but you can definitely use it. The patch I'm using is probably "Far Far Away", or another one similar to that. Can't remember the name right now. I think it's part of my last patch pack, or my next one ;-)

    Couple of random thoughts. Firstly at 39:50 ish you're using the Env page to send the env to the filter when this is hardwired in the filter page, and don't you get tired turning those encoders without pressing them down?
    Enjoying the vid very much though, tonight was my first night with the Heat, it is a beast!

    • @truecuckoo
      @truecuckoo  7 лет назад +1

      The endless UI encoders are extremely high resolution and fine. Most of the time I'm pressing them down to navigate faster. But in this video I was turning them a lot without pushing them down, didn't it :) The "analog" encoders have a min/max state. They're quite solid, and with a great deal of resistance to turn actually.

    • @danpreston564
      @danpreston564 7 лет назад

      cuckoomusic yeah I was shocked at the resistance of the analog pots. Nice, though.
