Hi! I just got the MS3 a week ago. Played alive with it and loved the sound. I would like to know, if I can split two different distortions to two amplis at same time? Example: Bank 01 Loop 1 - dist1 - amp1 Loop 2 - dist2 - amp2 I would like to switch one to another, like in stereo. Thanks in advance
Hi ! First of all, thank you for making a great video about the Boss MS-3, really detailed and well explained, nice job ! And so, I have a question, do you know if there is a tap tempo built in the MS-3 ? If yes, do you know if you can use it, for exemple, to change the lenght of the echo in the delay, or the frequance for the tremolo, etc. Or, can you plug an external tap tempo and do the same thing as said previously ? Thanks again !
Hi Dimitri, Thanks for your kind words. I can confirm that there is a tap tempo built in the to MS-3. I believe you can do both - plug in external tap tempos and use the one included to control tempo, parameters and effects on/off. It really covers a lot of ground. Very impressed by it.
Thanks for your quick response ! And another question ! I saw that you can use stereo output (plug with two differents amps). Do you know if you can actually, use both amps at the same time ? And to go even further, do you think, you can activate like, just a disto on the first amp, and on the second one, put the signal but pitched and with a delay or anything else ? Thanks again !
Great review, I have this question in mind, I understand that you can only put your 3 Favourite pedals into the system and they are loop1,2&3. For example I love the sound of a Few pedals stacked, can I actually run loop 1 into 2- 3 pedals then back. (I know I'll have to set the levels well.). Thanks man!
GUITARGUITAR , Wow thanks! I can imagine the possibilities, I'll set loop 1 into a few overdrives I like and perhaps control them by foot to increase or decrease the gain structure. Then maybe set loop 2 into my timeline and bigsky....etc. I haven't even touched the inbuilt effects. Cheers!
Hi there what is the best approach with the Boss MS-3 when it comes to mix board connections, there are some places they don't like guitar amps and cabinets on the stage and they go directly to the mixer, any information provided will be really appreciated, Thanks
Is it at all possible to run some of the pedals in the loops of the ms-3 into the front of your amp and some through the effects loop of your amp? For example I'd like to run my OD and Noise suppressor in a loop into the front of my amp and run delay and reverb in a loop through the effects loop.
You can. You can do 4 cable method but you have to sacrifice one of the 3 pedal loops for it. eg in you example you could run the OD and NS in the first 2 pedal loops and then use the 3rd pedal loop for the 4 cable method connections. Then in the unit you can assign the delay and verb after the pre amp
I would use loop 2 for the effects loop. That way loop 1 can be for a front end effect (e.g., overdrive) and loop 3 can be for a effects loop effect (e.g., delay). As he says in the video L1, L2, L3 are set in order, you can't put L3 before L2 etc
Hi Jary, It depends on what you mean by configure. You can have an exterior reverb pedal into 1 of the 3 loops available or use the internal reverb built in. Both of these can be moved in the signal path by using the controls in the signal menu. Typically reverb goes at the end of the signal path, but it doesn't have to. Experiment with sound and see what you prefer. The interface on the MS-3 is very user friendly and allows you to play around with signal orders to your hearts content.
GUITARGUITAR thanks for replying. for example i have a distortion pedal and a reverb i want my distortion to be first in the chain > ms3 delay > reverb pedal is that possible to do? :)
Okay, can see a bit of a hiccup here. The "Loops" are fixed in the signal chain but you can assign all of the others to whatever you want. Let me get back to you on that as I am awaiting a response from one of the BOSS reps.
Hi Jary, So the 3 loops for your pedals are fixed in the chain but you can assign anything before and after them in the path. So it's probably worth experimenting with that ideal sound you're looking for. To put your mind at a bit of ease, the effects quality on the MS-3 are very high so you'd be in safe hands for your reverbs/delays etc.
Hi Gabriel, There is no amp or speaker modelling. It's more aimed at players who want to have the options of an Effects Switcher AND a multi effects unit AND be able to store it in hand luggage on a plane. Nifty pedal and bags of fun.
Hi Bruno, Was just away to reply and noticed Mark got there before me. Please come in and try some of the patches on this pedal, we had so much fun with it :)
Keep it up! Looking forward for more videos from you, don't stop!
Merry Christmas! 🤓

Hello, The tuner of the ms3 is good enough to replace a Korg pitchblack?

I have been told to pass on - "yes to all" :)

Hi Wan Elvis Elijah,
Thanks for your feedback and the answer to your question is a comforting yes :)

Nice review! Do you know if there Is a built in buffer? Thanks

Can you use a normal wah pedal in the signal chain?
Wow colorful patch cables
Can this do anything that the ES 8 can do?

Hello. Does it have a cabinet simulator so that I can plug it directly to the PS system? thanx
Love the back drop curtain , do you sell them

Can you post or send me a diagram of the 4 cable method !! Thanks 🙏🏻🎶

Is there a cab simulation? So I can plug it direct to a mixer?

does it have delay trails? When you change patch it cuts delay or reverb completely?
It has delay trails crossover between patches 👍
Hi Bruno,
Was just away to reply and noticed Mark got there before me. Please come in and try some of the patches on this pedal, we had so much fun with it :)
Thanks guys! It really looks fun and I will definitely try this...
No amp modeling and cab simulation? Then we need extra stuff when we need to directly send it to PA / mixer?
Hi I loved your video say I was wandering how would you like to be interviewed by me during a livestream on my RUclips channel
LOL ONLY 3 PEDALS LOLLLLLLLL
Can you post or send me a diagram of the 4 cable method !! Thanks 🙏🏻🎶
